ANOTHER SINOVAC UPDATE - MARCH 8TH
slainte39 replied to Carnivore's topic in Ajijic/Chapala/Guadalajara
I am having trouble translating some of your words. -
Walmart at it again.... or still?
slainte39 replied to Natasha's topic in Ajijic/Chapala/Guadalajara
We´ll end the discussion about the locations as that has been fairly well answered here. In Chapala, it was the first 3 locales on Madero, east side, at the corner with Morelos where the furniture store and Chinese resturant and something else is. In Ajijic, it was where Farmacia Guad. is, and Amutio was, the entire building. The Actinver building is very recent and was built by AWLLOYD. Keep trying on the name of the stores and the owner. -

No that is a newer building built by the Serna family to be a grocery store but failed and became an event center. Serna had a very successful grocery store on the corner of Ocampo and Morelos in Ajijic where everyone shopped but it was small. Where some kind of hamburger place is now. -

Not many......Most everyone that I knew that were adults then, are dead and gone. The children yes, they are still around. A lot of people have passed through this area, lived here a short while and then moved on. I am speaking of the extranjeros. Old Mexican families are still here and in tact. -

No not the Soriana/Gigante or whatever it was, location. The rest of your answer is correct. There was a tragic incident involving son, not sure what you mean by father and son. Two of my children were very close to the son and they would go to his house and he would come to ours. -
Walmart at it again.... or still?

The first answer is correct, the second answer, no. The store where Santander is now, was mainly a carnicería operated by Gus Sanchez with a nice selection of other groceries, but small. The two stores I mentioned had the same owner and I´ll give you a clue.....he lived just east of the old Maskaras Clinic in the brick building LOL....a whole lot of people liked to sell "black market goods" before NAFTA. -

No, nothing to do with that construction/location, as it is all newer. -

Yes, the peso is very correct and dignified now. Blame all those extra ceros on the Mayans. -

I´m also am old enough to remember when I would spend $300,000.00 pesos in one of those stores to feed a family of 6 or 7 for a week. That´s right folks, three hundred thousand pesos, and that makes watching the ringing up and getting change even more difficult. Every body has it as easy as "falling off a log" nowadays. -

LOL.....by 1998 I had already lived in this area 20 years Here is a quiz for all the people who like to brag about their longevity here. Before Walmart and Soriana, there were 2 big supermercados here with a lot of floor space....What was their name, where were they located and who was the owner? They sold everything that was available in Mexico at the time legally, and if they didn´t have it, you had to make a border run. The owner, a local, became a self made millionaire. (in USD) No cheating Andy P., cause I know you can get the help to find out . 😀 -
ANOTHER SINOVAC UPDATE - MARCH 8TH
slainte39 replied to Carnivore's topic in Ajijic/Chapala/Guadalajara
Mis consuegros received their first shot in Mezcala and now have their second, same location. They were notified by telephone, 4 days in advance when to come. That´s in the next Municipalidad east of Chapala. They live in SJC, in the Municipalidad of Jocoteprc, next one west of Chapala. -

It has been reported, numerous times on this board, and it is.......... Sinovac was developed and produced by the Chinese. What else could you possibly want to know............No phobia like a China phobia. -
ANOTHER SINOVAC UPDATE - MARCH 8TH

According to Bisbee Gal, it´s not the efficacy study that´s the problem, it´s the fact that it was made by the Chinese. -
Beyond Meat is the brand. Two vegetarian members of my family love them as well as the carnivores. Costco always has them, so suppose the local grocers that supply from Costco might have them. The several local restaurants that prioritize vegetarian/vegan fare is where I would start looking. mudgirl has promised not to "wise up" Wendy´s......😀

About how many? is many?

Official: Chinese vaccines’ effectiveness low
slainte39 replied to Rick Sanchez's topic in Mexico General
Well me, for one!!! I would rather be with the 50% of Brazilians it helped than the 0% it helped, of the people waiting for whatever. It´s like they overheard one Covid virus talking to another, and saying, "don´t stop here because they are waiting for a different vaccine". Bisbee Gal probably wouldn´t take Pfizer if it was produced in China just because it´s Chinese. Her denigration of the Chinese far outweighs her concern of the vaccines. China is there, they have their form of government, like it or not, and that is not going to change. -
Is this in Chapala? I´m not familiar with Galeana street in Chapala, only Ajijic.
-
Well, at least there was truth in this toilet thread.......LOL
-
Sometimes people just go overboard trying to impress, mostly themselves, and anybody else who will listen, about all their knowledge and wisdom on just about any topic. In this case.....Its all the time.
-
OK...........but that doesn´t answer my question.

He is her son and I will bet you any amount of money you want to bet that he is!

That´s easy. I´m assuming he is a direct descendant of the original Jim Bowie and you know what the Mexicans did to him (deservedly so ). It´s called "trying to get even".
