  1. You were old when you got out of school??? I often wanted to ask you that but was reluctant to bring up the subject as you might take it the wrong way.
  2. Yes, 1,000 USD is the standard limit, I am told unless you make some type of special arrangement (on the Capital One side).
  3. You are correct, i got 3 too many ceros in there.
  4. Don´t know them but i hear good things about Banco Azteca. I prefer Mexican owned banks to the International chains of banks that operate in Mexico because their service just seems so much better. The only one that seems a little skittish to me, is Actinver.
  5. Thanks, although it says 7,200,000.00 pesos (1,500 UDIS)
  6. Does anyone know what the one time daily limit for withdrawal of funds from the new Banorte ATM in Chapala is, from a US bank (Capital One)? I know what the Cap One limit is but that doesn´t always correspond to the local bank rules.
  7. You have to file if you are a Mexican citizen and taxpayer with CURP and RFC nos. The banks will furnish you withi an annual report of your earnings and retenciones de impuestos ( taxes with held).
  8. Intercam, Multiva, CI Banco...…..all good banks and returns are very similar for all 3. Depends on time and amount of investment…..just go shopping and compare as the rates move around a little, quite frequently.
  9. The leaf at the top of the one shrimp looks more alcachofa then aguacate but I´ll try anything once,...………. except cuyo LOL
  10. Most Mexicans would agree with this evaluation and has known it for some time. Nothing flashy, just steady progress.
  11. I think what most people mean by free, is that the cost is spread over many more wallets, the government pays the bill, and the individual isn´t gobsmacked with all the cost in one big lump sum. Just like when you call the police or fire departments, they don´t hand you a bill when they leave. The government either gets the money from taxation or borrowing, but it isn´t dumped on the individual all at once. Sometimes a doctor or a hospital is just as important as a policeman or a fireman in the saving of a life.
  12. No, aguacate leaves are edible, sort of, but I always thought they were used for tea or some herbal, medicinal remedy, but you could be right, makes more sense. aguacate o alcachofa…..hard to tell from the photo.
  13. When you leave, if you use a Mexican passport, you will also need a visa, if you use US passport, nada.
  14. M., are those leaves from an aguacate Hass tree, or can it be any variety of aguacate? and what is the heart?, the fruit? I´ve been eating the wrong part…..LOL
  15. Another 1.5 trillion of new debt under DT?...….great economists! At least, it is setting new highs……. Yeah, I suppose Mexico could spend and do quite well with that amount of someone else´s money.
  16. Tailorbird´s nest? I don´t know but you see them all over Mexico
  17. Also in San Antonio Tlayacapan. I don´t know of any planned facilities for the above mentioned medical services in Ajijic or Chapala town.
  18. So people could continue posting on this subject, on this forum, long after all other possibilities have been exhausted.
  19. More typically, 15% of monthly rental or 60 USD, per month, for unoccupied management.
  20. We just had teeth cleaned this week so it is a very short pause in services. Place was busy as hell at 11:30 in the AM.
  21. Another recommendation for Costco.
  22. They just spend a lot of money at Trump establishments.
  23. Speculation and innuendo about her age and condition will only stop on an individual by individual decision and not something mandated as a group order by another member. It has always been that way on these forums. That aside, the facts we do know are indisputable, such as where the vehicle started and where it ended up. We also know that this is entirely outside the norm for how one should leave a parking area in front of Pancho´s Deli. We know that there can´t be hardly any good or legitimate reasons for doing same. Most people have given the benefit of the doubt and said it was not deliberate but unintended, which is the softer approach. Even if you take the softest, kindest, gentler approach, you still have to question the driver´s ability, to be driving. Of the millions of drivers in Jalisco, Mexican and foreigners, how many drive through store fronts for any reason, or no reason?...….not many. To treat it as a non-event and just another "all in a normal day" of traffic mishaps, and feel sorry for the poor lady, is really putting your head in the sand. The punishment shouldn´t be greater than the crime but ignoring it or playing it down because I´ll get you when you have accident, escapes my reasoning.
