  1. An interesting approach Oregon but, bluntly put, neither my dog nor I like walking in or around excreta. YMMV.
  2. Mud and Bisbee Gals — no white tip. Thank you everyone for your suggestions. I need more!
  3. PM — yes a well-respected exterminator has taken a look, poked around, removed tiles and had no explanation. WS — hadn’t thought of that and will keep a look-out. Thing is that our few geckos are on the back wall a long way away. The quantity of droppings — dozens — suggests quite a big population. However they are a possibility.
  4. I’m stumped! We have a large, covered terrace open on three sides. The roof has large beams and tepate between them and all of it underneath a tiled roof. Every morning we have to sweep up dozens of small mouse-like droppings most of them in a specific swathe underneath one of the beams. Not bats. We have sprayed the roof all over with anti-insect chemicals; we have groped underneath the beams, we have had the roof tiles removed to give clear access to the back of the beams. No sign of anything living up there and no clues at all about the origin of the droppings. Grateful for any suggestions.
  5. Is it possible to get a bucket of water over the wall?
  6. Bdmowers: I’ve seen it at the lavanderia in SAT. Down the road by I-Mail.
  7. Two suggestions for refills where the hygiene is good: on the Carretera in Riberas west across the side street from Moms; and Katya on Juarez behind the Chapala Mercado.
  8. I made enquiries for a friend and discovered that the big building on the corner of Ninos Heroes and Zaragoza is a wheel chair friendly and economical hotel. Sorry, can’t give you contact information.
  9. Ajijic Realty on Colon has some installed in the area at the back of their office. I suggest you ask them to find out who installed them.
  10. Pian has good fresh food.
  11. Axol quite functional but Greenhome’s installation incompetent and had to be re-done.
  12. Dr Varela can refer you to a neuropsychologist who is completely fluent in English
  13. I like the new(ish) optical shop on Hidalgo just a few paces west of the plaza. The optician is skilled & they have a large selection of frames. They also use the best brand of sunlight darkening lenses. As to price I can’t remember but they were a couple of thousand pesos less than my previous ones from Dr xxxxx who got both the prescription and fitting wrong. He also used the poorest quality darkening lenses which were both slow to change and didn’t darken enough.
  14. You might try the yellow truck that is in Chapala on Thursdays. Not sure of the corner: Degollado and Juarez(?)
  15. The branch on the Carretera heading north is also terrible.
  16. Just very much enjoyed Chef Pian’s crispy duck. Generous serving for two with three different and delicious sauces. Cheerful staff, pleasant atmosphere.
  17. Their receptionist has been ill and therefore the phones are being answered intermittently. Keep trying.
  18.

Spencer,  we spoke the other day about replacing a lost and expired driving license.  When is your car going to Guadalajara.  I would like one space if it is fairly soon.

  19. I’ve compared Lidia’s prices with those in a couple of specialty stores in Guadalajara and found them very similar for high quality items. And I agree with Ferret about her skills and decency towards her patients. She coordinates with medical practitioners and provides the best care. She has a remarkable CV.
  20. There is a ju-jitsu etc. place in Chapala on Gonzalez Gallo opposite the Cristiania Park tennis courts.
  21. Oscar has done at least a dozen pieces for me over at least a dozen years. Always well done, on time and at the price quoted. See RVs post for his address. His phone number is 765 2366 but best to stop by his shop.
