  1. Johnnies Restaurant on the east malecon in Chapala has 2 or so, Janelles Garden has one.
  2. After nearly 10 years I have basically given up on clothes made for the Mexican Market. In the last year I have bought shirts from Both LL Bean and Amazon mx (sold by Amazon.com and imported). Good fits and appear to be wearing better. Little bit more expensive than here but not expensive compared to US and Canada. Shorts bought in US 4 years ago are still fine as are shirts, pants and shorts bought in Canada 2 years ago. Shirts bought at Sears in Guad last year are already old. Will see what Liverpool has next week in Colima
  3. According to Chapala municipality we are supposed to get a Driver's licence office of our own this month. Has anyone heard anything further on this?
  4. Hidalgo and Madero There were 2 stores in Chapala he managed and also the Laguna Mall store. I know, I was one of the scammed ones and switched back to Telcel as soon as was possible. And because of that I will NEVER go back to AT&T.
  5. From his profile Saba - Dutch Caribbean Island of Saba - TripSavvy https://www.tripsavvy.com › Trip Planning › Cruises › Caribbean Jun 7, 2019 - Saba is mountainous and the tallest peak rises 2,864 feet above sea level and is covered by a dense rain forest. Saba is a mountainous island of the Caribbean, located about 28 miles from its sister island of St. Maarten.
  6. It will be effective when the government tells us and I am sure the Guad Reporter will keep us in the loop. I do understand the Mechanic in Chapala has closed up shop and left the area.
  7. It was in part but if you read this publication dated today it goes into much more detail

  9. When it says "out for delivery" it on the way from GDL.
  10. Jitomate restaurant will closed for vacation from Saturday 11th May to Friday 17th May inclusive.
  11. Jitomate did not have a menu until April 4th or 5th and even then most of the new menu was not available (his wife jumped the gun and set them out early). Just pizzas, a few lonches and the occasional special all posted on the wall so I am confused by your comment. Now everything is available on the new menu maybe you should try it again. Or maybe you are confusing it with another restaurant
  12. Potrerillos and Las Trojes are where Cookj5 described, on the north side of the north shore mountains not on the south side of the lake. Check your map
  13. You must remember that you need a wheel with the same stud configuration as your car. Also was it a full size spare or one of those smaller ones?
  14. Gerard has recently added to his menu with 5 or 6 pasta dishes and 3 panzarotti dishes. Both home made pastas and panzarottis range from 120p to 170p and are very tasty. Well worth checking out. Gerard is celebrating their 2nd anniversary on April 15. Some free giveaways including margaritas and snacks. Their regular menu is available plus they will have live music until 9pm
  15. My Doctor is in Chapala and he prefers Chopo. Says the reports are better.
  16. I recently had to have 2 back xrays there. That is normally done in a vertical position but not on top of a 2 foot stand with only one step up. The equipment did not appear new. The latest xray machines are digital and this one certainly was not. I also will not be going back
  17. Laparoscopy, also known as diagnostic laparoscopy, is a surgical diagnostic procedure used to examine the organs inside the abdomen. It's a low-risk, minimally invasive procedure that requires only small incisions. Laparoscopy uses an instrument called a laparoscope to look at the abdominal organs. I guess the same place that the guy who wrote this. What would you call that. I call it exploratory surgery
  18. Laparoscopic Surgery is a term used when the surgeon does not know what is wrong and thinks he can find out by operating. In other words it is exploratory surgery. A must for a second opinion.
  19. The INAPAM card is better as it is valid in all of Mexico including Jalisco. The DIF card is valid only in Jalisco. You get it at the DIF office in Chapala. BTW the Chapala office is often short/out of both cards. I did mine (INAPAM) through LCS but I don't know when they will have another event. You might call or go in and ask at the office. They seem to have one every year.
  20. Mudgirl: I am not sure how you figure this out but my experience is that contact lenses in Mexico are less that 400 pesos per box of 6. This equates to less than 30.00 CDN and where in Canada can you buy contact lenses for less that 10.00CDN per box? (Your statement-Canada cost=Mexico cost divided by 3)
  21. GIS is only available to Canadian residents. Non-residents do not qualify
