  1. Unless you can’t afford it, why would you even think of paying her less than the full amount for as long as it is necessary? Believe me, you will be β€œrepaid” in multiples. Stay safe.
  2. Nice to know you are still moving Ken. Stay safe.
  3. Apparent rip off! So, the Scotia ATM has a new screen. After entering the desired withdrawal amount you are presented with a screen essentially showing how much the pesos will cost in your home currency and are given the choice of accepting the conversion rate or declining it. I had read about something like this in the past and seemed to remember that accepting the conversion rate was a very bad option. I tested it and guess what, exactly right! If I accepted the rate it would have cost me $110.75 for 1400 pesos! I declined, still got my 1400 pesos and when I checked my account on line the debit to my account was 100.65 an effective exchange rate of 13.93. So, be forewarned! Always decline the offered exchange rate!
  4. Coming down soon and just wondering if Arborio rice and or duck fat are available locally. If so, where? Gracias. πŸ™‚.
  5. Thanks but not quite what I was looking for. I am trying to find the original post and the replies to it.
  6. I saw a post recently from someone who was in medical difficulty and needed blood donations on his behalf. Not sure where I saw it but think it was on Chapala.com. If someone remembers the post and can direct me to it, I would be grateful. Gracias. BTW, I have tried a search but no luck.
  7. Care to mention specific stores by chance? I would be a happy buyer. πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘πŸ˜Š.
  8. Duck confit. Peaches n cream corn. Canadian salted butter. KFC πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚.
  9. Sorry to hear this Ken. Fingers crossed. Hope she turns up soon.
  10. We have been coming down for nine years and to the best of my recollection, 50 pesos per hour has been more or less the β€œnorm” for the whole time. Might be time to arrive at a new norm eh? Just saying. 😊. Yes we do have a maid and yes we do pay her more than 50 pesos per hour and she is worth every peso.
