  2. And to those wasting money for a notarized copy "that bears the weight of an original". Color copies of original documents are illegal in Mexico. But a quick buck for a Notario who is fully aware that no one will ever ask to see it on the street. And if it "bears the weight of an original" try using it at a federal or state office that requires proof of residency.
  3. Yes the world would be better off with no vaccines. Far smaller population and no need for retirement accounts. We could all enjoy polio, smallpox, measles, chicken pox, diptheria, rubella, whooping cough, not to mention hepatitus, tetanus, cholera, tuburculosis, typhoid, influenza and a few more. Why anyone would use vaccines is a mystery.
  4. The Chapala to GDL repavement started failing less than 6 months after the first section was finished. It has hundreds of repairs in less than 2 years. There are areas that have been patched 3 or 4 times. Right now there is a dangerous failure just before the libramiento sur overpass.(3rd resurface in 12 years) Areas of the Ajijic libramiento's last repavement are showing cracks already. You will see baches by October. (The 4th resurface in 10 years) If these were class a contractors ...then how bad is a non class a contractor's work?
  5. I went but they were closed. No 24 hour phone number posted. I also drive faster than 30km on the libramiento. Guess I'm just a scofflaw. But until AMLO has goose stepping officials checking papers in every corner I guess I and thousands of others don't have to worry
  6. So in your home country how do you prove your citizenship or your right to be there if asked by a policeman?? Answer is you don't beause they won't ask or can't ask by law depending on where you are .......so you don't carry proof with you. In 45+ years I don't know of anyone asked to show their visa, resident card, or passport to any policeman inckuding federal police. I would wager that fewer than one in a thousand policemen here have any knowledge of imigration law. We are not in a "let me verify that your papers are in order" police state. Like a debit card....best left a
  7. The real question is why carry anything ..original or copy? Transit police have no right to ask to see it..local police have no right to ask to see it. For sure they are not going to call imigration to send an agent. As mentioned in other posts no one asks to see it. If they do ask (even though they are not legally able) tell them it is at home. But don't worry because the situation won't come up. When in your home country do you carry your passport to prove your citizenship?

  10. Know many who have been through the process. Never heard of asking for a bribe. Some SRE offices have managers that are inept or like to make their own rules that is why I recommend doing the process in Mexico City. When my test was checked I was shown the grading with the test answer page.

  13. No I don't know the couple Sonia referenced. It just seems complete obvious that an American heading north with his Mexican wife, that she would have a tourist visa. Especially if they are clients of Sonia. You need more than a tourist visa. You need a valid reason under the regulations in force right now

  15. She wasn't denied entry for lack of visa. She was denied entry because of the travel restrictions applying to non permanent residents entering for a non valid reason. Could be solved with a doctor's appointment in a no border zone city ie: San Antonio.
  16. August 31, 2020 at 7:46 pm Dr. Hugo López-Gatell Ramírez, Undersecretary for Prevention and Health Promotion, reported that more than 35 million influenza vaccines will be given for the season from October 2020 to April 2021, when the number of cases increases. López-Gatell indicated that the vaccine began to arrive in the country, starting in August with 4 million 431 thousand 460 doses. New shipments are expected for September: 7 million, 371 thousand 360; October, 14 million 620 thousand and November, 8 million 772 thousand applications. Due to the Covid-19 epidemic , he adde
  17. The question is when do you intend to travel? ... as Sonia says unless your driver has a valid reason to enter the USA at this time they most likely would be denied entry. Currently September 21 is the last day of the border closure ... Will it be extended again? You could walk across at bridge number 1 in Laredo, but the question is are you allowed to cross on foot with dogs? At this time the wait to cross by foot is between 45 minutes from noon to 4pm and at 6pm or so up to 2 hours.

  19. Basically the AMLO administration is saying mañana........ from today's morning press conference MEXICO CITY, Aug 31, 2020.- The Government will report in the next few hours the situation regarding the issue of influenza vaccines in the country. The arrival of the autumn-winter season begins in Mexico in a few weeks. President Andrés Manuel López Obrador offered to make the information on the subject transparent, as there are versions of medical personnel from the health sector in the sense that the vaccine against seasonal influenza will not be available to the public until
  20. First read your Mexican policy. Most include USA liability insurance. I know with my Qualitas I went on-line and printed out my USA coverage page in English from the Qualitas link on my policy.. If you have a question call your agent. You can buy short term liability on-line from a Texas insurance company named National Unity I have never found a way to buy collision/comprehensive. Here is a link: https://www.segurogringo.com/
