  1. Los Telares has been closed for a while
  2. The dollar has not fallen in the last 3-5 months in relation to most currencies'. the US dollar has gotten stronger the Peso has gotten stronger February 2 100 pesos cost 4.96 Euros June 2 100 pesos cost 5.36 Euros = Peso stronger February 2 100US cost 91.87 Euros June 2 100US cost 93.32 Euros = Dollar stronger February 2 100 pesos cost $7.19 Canadian June 2 100 pesos cost $7.71 Canadian = peso stronger February 2 100US cost $133.80 Canadian June 2 100US cost $134.61 Canadian = Dollar stronger Actually the Mexican government is concerned about the strength of the Peso. The cost of Mexican exports has risen too much and will cause sales to fall The other concern is the over five billion dollars sent home by Mexicans in the USA to support their families in Mexico is yielding far fewer pesos to help them.
  3. Handymail You are lucky that the institutions you are dealing with have not blocked your VOIP number. Many have.
  4. A lot of panels are 400 watts or more.
  5. American Express, and Fidelity Investments both see the Laredo address as a mail drop and require a Physical address, but will use the Laredo address as the mailing address on those accounts. My Capitol One has not asked for a different address as yet. Fidelity & Capital One both want a USA cell for texts or return calls.
  6. Don't know about "they" I assume you mean tmobile who don't even sell the sims anymore. Both LarryA and I bought on ebay, and have been using them a lot longer than 3 months. In my case over a year. In my case I only turn the phone on when expecting a text.
  7. The subject is information ifor those who need a USA cell number for texts to be received in Mexico Not calls I bought this sim, followed the instructions for my 4g LTE cell and have been using it for over a year. I pre-pay$25 at a time to my account at Tmobile and check the balance every month. It is not for calls only to receive texts. If you read the offer they explain thatTmobile no longer offers these sims however this company has many to sell https://www.ebay.com/itm/293902916901?_trkparms=amclksrc%3DITM%26aid%3D777008%26algo%3DPERSONAL.TOPIC%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20220705100511%26meid%3D7f8a0c2da17249b99ebb67d23d8d3390%26pid%3D101524%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D1%26itm%3D293902916901%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2380057%26algv%3DRecentlyViewedItemsV2%26brand%3DT-Mobile&_trksid=p2380057.c101524.m146925&_trkparms=pageci%3A9e02cd63-06f2-11ee-b0e2-82c602018f2b|parentrq%3Aa16570481880ad333cf50617fffefd0c|iid%3A1
  8. Actually the dollar is stronger today than 30 days ago against the Euro and most other world currencies. The Mexican peso getting stronger against most world currencies in the same time period including the US dollar.
  9. Same as Larry A Be sure your cell is 4g LTE and a GSM network phone https://www.ebay.com/itm/293902916901?_trkparms=amclksrc%3DITM%26aid%3D777008%26algo%3DPERSONAL.TOPIC%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20220705100511%26meid%3D7f8a0c2da17249b99ebb67d23d8d3390%26pid%3D101524%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D1%26itm%3D293902916901%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2380057%26algv%3DRecentlyViewedItemsV2%26brand%3DT-Mobile&_trksid=p2380057.c101524.m146925&_trkparms=pageci%3A9e02cd63-06f2-11ee-b0e2-82c602018f2b|parentrq%3Aa16570481880ad333cf50617fffefd0c|iid%3A1
  10. Magic Jack is VOIP Many services, banks, brokerage, etc. will not text or call a VOIP number. More are joining the no VOIP every Month.
  11. More & more banks and services are requiring 2 step verification. Some will email, but some will only text. Some that only text need a US number. Many banks can tell if your number is a VIOP number and will not call or text to that number. Capitol One is an example. We have a TMobile account for $3.00 a month that will receive texts in Mexico. Paid $40 for the sim. Texts to Mx cost 25 cents.
  12. Ok you are right on that point. The OP said they were trying to make a purchase, so I assumed they had logged in as normal. If they were replying to a message, Whatsapp, or email then your scenario could be the case. Way to find out is clear cookies, then try to log to the ML website in using incognito mode on the web browser and see what happens.....
  13. If you are using the app on a cell phone when you are connected to your home's wifi it is just as secure as your computer is. Try Mercado Libre Customer Service at 11 3003 4333, option 2, from Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 21:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 19:00 p.m. Other ML numbers 55 4973 7300 option 2. 55 1889 2277
  14. https://www.mercadolibre.com.mx/ayuda/chat?flow=AA_ML You might try doing the procedure from the ML app on your cell phone. Cell cameras are better suited for the face picture procedures
  15. Mercadolibre is far from a scam. They have a market cap of 63 billion dollars on the NASDAQ . They are verifying various accounts to make sure they are secure.... Those procedures are for your own protection....Similar procedures are required to initiate a bank app in Mexico. Needed to take a photo of my passport for a US account recently as well.

  17. Federal law requires that you report money of over $10,000US when entering the USA, by land, marine, or air. It is a reporting requirement. Failure to do so can cause forfeiture of the money if you are caught. "Money" means monetary instruments and includes U.S. or foreign coins currently in circulation, currency, travelers' checks in any form, money orders, and negotiable instruments or investment securities in bearer form. The same $10,000US applies when entering Mexico. The report does not trigger any tax. https://www.cbp.gov/travel/international-visitors/kbyg/money
  18. A BBVA debit card is a Visa card. It will work at almost any ATM in the world.
  19. Who works closely with Tlaloc and Chaak to ensure we get the rain.....
  20. I always use the CFE bill which is in my wife's name. Works fine for my Drivers License and with IMSS.
  21. No crap shoot. Just check before you go at either of the 2 options and you will know your rate https://www.mastercard.com/global/en/personal/get-support/convert-currency.html https://usa.visa.com/support/consumer/travel-support/exchange-rate-calculator.html
  22. Actually as of this year financial experts are still advising against using a debit card for point of sale purchases. If a credit card is stolen or "hacked" you are not out any money from your account. The credit card company freezes the purchase and the payment to the vender, and there is no interest charged. They then investigate the problem and at some point decide to kill the charge or allow the charge. With a debit card is stolen or "hacked" the money is gone from your account instantly. Smart thieves have been known to drain thousands from the account in a few minutes. The card company will investigate and make a decision about returning the money to your account. Until that happens you do not have the money. If you have an online payment pending from the "hacked" account and there are not sufficient funds in your account to cover it it could bounce causing you more problems.
  23. Actually you get a returno seguro for a vehicle whose TIP has expired. Most cars are removed from Mexico before the Permanente is issued. Or people have friends, or pay someone like RickS to drive the car in question to the frontier and have the TIP exit processed. https://www.gob.mx/tramites/ficha/aviso-de-retorno-seguro-de-vehiculos-extranjeros/SAT5098
  24. so basically if you use your debit card at only ATM's (as recommended by all financial experts) the safety would be exactly the same. Then all you have do do is be aware of ATM's that have been compromised by skimmers and internal readers that send your information to a nearby bluetooth device. Those ATM's are usually high tourist areas like last year in Cancun with the Russian group.
