  1. My neighbor said Lakeside moving was excellent Check with them for appx costs to your costs to Guerrero http://lakechapalamoving.com/
  2. The post said the internet was too slow A VPN could slow their internet speed even more at times.... If the the channels they like are available on Mexico Prime they have no need for a VPN. I asked where their Prime subscription was so they could contact the correct Prime technical help.
  3. Actually Hilary barrels towards Calfornia as it passes along the coast of Baja California
  4. Sorry for my confusion. Your post said "I'm ordering a Tesla because the local dealers, unless my arithmetic is way off, charge well above the MSRP even after factoring in VAT..." As the only place to pick up a Tesla in GDL is the dealer service center, I was confused by your post. And as an aside paying list price to Tesla is no different than paying list price for any other car. No haggling. As to Commission Tesla keeps it instead of giving it to an employee in Mexico.
  5. Is your Amazon Prime Mexico or Amazon Prime USA?
  6. Pretty obvious the post is advising they will not be open their normal hours those 2 days
  7. Yes the Tesla Dealer is owned by Tesla A place that sells cars is called a dealer no matter who owns the business That is why I asked the poster if they were attempting to charge more than the sticker indicated
  8. So are you saying that the Tesla dealer here is asking you to pay more than the Tesla Mexico sticker price in the window, or that Tesla Mexico has a higher sticker price for the exact same vehicle in Mexico?
  9. Naturalized citizens are only eligible after 10 years of receiving their citizenship. Current wait time after your interview in Chapala to start benefits is about 12 months. Guadalajara my sis in law has been waiting 15 months. 800 639 42 64 is the appointment number. They are very helpful.
  10. If you are looking for the adult pension at 65 years of age: You will need your INE or Mexican Passport or INAPAM, Proof of address( 6 months), your Mexican birth certificate, CURP and copies of each. A Cell or home phone number. After you complete the interview and everything is in order, expect about one year for you to start receiving the money. At that time they will contact you to pick up you BIENESTAR debit card.. If you are a naturalized citizen I believe it must be over 10 years ago. There is an office in Chapala and you need to call the 800 number for an appointment. They are very helpful when you call 800 639 42 64
  11. IVA (vat) is included in the sticker price.
  12. The Jalisco drivers license is not considered a valid ID for most things. (some exceptions lakeside) There is no Jalisco ID. The ID in Mexico is your INE or Passport.
  13. If you are paying online you use the electronic card your bank will offer that changes the pin every 5 minutes. Without that the card is useless to some online company or a hacker after the pin expires. If you are using the retailer's terminal it does not save your information after the purchase. so they do not have any of your data to keep secure. If you are loading the prepaid cards from a company most people have ever heard of...you trust them to keep you information more secure than your own bank's electronic card?
  14. Normally you do it at the airport where you will be exiting the country..... which for you is Mexico City?
  15. Discounts depend on the model you want. For example a Rav4 will be a 5-7 month wait. A kia Seltos GT 2 months. Hyundai Tucson 1-2 months. Sales are up, and there is a shortage of car haulers and Aduana now operated by the Guardia Nacional is way behind on clearance, so imports are sitting in the port. Buy a non popular model made in Mexico that the dealer is getting easily and a discount is available. It is the law of supply and demand. Just to mention also that dealers in GDL were accepting all cash sales in 2022 and this year. Possibly one salesman said no somewhere, but there are many other dealers. No different in USA. People are actually selling hot models they bought a year ago for more than they paid. As for warranties, they are different in every country. Using the Mercedes example posted earlier: A Mercedes in the UK has a 36 month unlimited mileage warranty. In South Africa it is 5 years 100k kilometers. In the Philippines the warranty is 2 years unlimited mileage. Manufactures build, price, and warranty their vehicles based on the market where they will sell them. A dealer can't tell the manufacturer "i want a model x with the same options it has in France, and the warranty as the UK" Big surprise .... this is true with many things sold internationally such as appliances.

  17. Just curious If you have a Mexican bank account why don't you pay those bills directly from your Mexican Bank? You could pay with your Credit card or Debit card from your own bank,

  19. American Express has several different cards. The charge cards like Black, Platinum, Gold, Green. The credit cards like Blue Cash, Cash Magnet, Amex Everyday, Serve. Then there are the affinity cards like Delta Airlines, Hilton Honors, Marriott Bonvoy. Some do have a foreign transaction fee, some don't. For those cards that do the typical fee percentage for American Express cards is 2.7%. Check your card account online to see if yours has a fee.
