I don't know where you have looked. My sister in law sells real estate in GDL and sometimes lakeside. Probably the closest comparison to lakeside for a non gated community is Ciudad Bugambilias a large fracc. Houses of equal size are more expensive there as is any vacant land. Other relative has a rental house there 2br, 21/2 bath he rents for $35,000mx per month. House prices lakeside in this age are being driven up by demand from both Mexicans, and foreigners. Restaurant prices are edging closer to GDL restaurant prices possibly as a result of more Tapatios eating out here. In times past most weekenders brought their maid from GDL and ate at home. As the upper middle class expands fewer families have a live in maid.

Hard to imaging there was a "14 hour" hour backup at bridge 2 and nothing at bridge 1 . Before bridge 1 became a SENTRI only entrance there was always a long line at bridge 1 if bridge 2 was backed up. It's not like bridge 1 was a secret, it is right in the middle of Nuevo Laredo.
