  1. Copies of official documents such as visas, passports, resident cards, INE, etc need to be in Black & White. The only time you will make a color copy of an official document is your passport when applying for citizenship.
  2. You n=might be a bit late. As houses are converted to fibre optic there are regular phone lines becoming available
  3. Unless one feel the necessity to have "the brand" and want electric power there are Chevrolet Bolt, and Nissan Leaf also available. Unlike north of the border where there are free charging stations in many parking lots, cheap electricity and government subsidies, Mexico will take a while before electric vehicles become practical. Unless you own a second vehicle for traveling, trips are out to most of Mexico. Sales of 100% electric are running under 100 a month in the whole country. And unless you have solar power to charge your electric the cost is very high. Probably charging the car would put one in DAC rates for all the homes consumption.
  4. Doubt you will find much. It's about 8 blocks square. There is an off ramp from the autopista and from the free road you need to make a turn through Confradia. It is based a mostly agricultural based economy. If you are trying to find belt makers I would try asking locals in the plaza for local tallers. Probably all the work is done in private houses. I do remember seeing a dozen or so belts in a small store fronting the plaza. There are many interesting towns in Jalisco you might want to visit: https://www.jalisco.gob.mx/es/jalisco/municipios
  5. What color copies are needed for IMSS renewal? Must be new requirement.. I needed zero color copies in October.
  6. Smart Car the name is an Oxymoron They are discontinued in the USA for lack of sales. There are other brand models in Mexico that cost much less, can hold 4 people, have 4 doors, and have lower maintenance costs.
  7. the OP is asking about opinions on which bank to open an account. I too am happy with BBVA which also has a Preferred Customer center telephone that is answered in English. I have a Credit card with them so I can take advantage of months without interest offers. I pay for everything with the card and earn enough points to fill my tank 2 or 3 times a year. Also their app makes it easy to handle the accounts.
  8. I just gave one recent example that was far less than $300US I did not know it was a requirement to list a lot of examples to satisfy an irritating individual on this board. They are available. Pay me to find them in Chapala or San Antonio & I will be happy to get you addresses. (I don't work cheap) Or better yet don"t make snarky comments because of your lack of knowledge.
  9. Yes Ron Young Brother is a machinist with all the machines necessary to make whatever. Ron's phone is 376-765-6387 Ron is honest and reasonable and old air cooled beetles he does know well. But a 2010 is the New Beetle which any mechanic who can work on Jettas etc. should be able to handle
  10. Are you only painting or are you adding layer of cement?
  11. All the bad patches were repaved about 6 months ago. Passed there last week and all is still good. Also fewer topes.
  12. Are you referring to a vehicle being used for a vacation or imported and registered in Canada. If it is on vacation and has US insurance which is valid in Canada and is allowed to enter by customs at the border then it is legal the same as a US certified vehicle that doesn't meed Canadian standards ie; KM speedometer, daytime running lights Maybe I don't get it, but if Canada approves the importation and registration of the vehicle that is proven to meet standards for a used vehicle then it would be legal as well. Or what am I missing??
  13. Rick is correct. When the vehicle moves down the assembly line the manufacture can build it with different specs just like building with different equipment. Sometimes it is cheaper and easier to build all the same. Example in the US vehicles are 49 state or Calif and have the corresponding sticker under the hood, but most are actually the same. Why does it cost more in Calif for a vehicle certified for sale there?? Because California requires a longer warranty on the emissions system performance.
  14. There are many $300US rentals available. It takes shoe leather and networking to find them. I know a 1BR house in San Antonio that was just rented for $4000MX per month. New paint, small patio & Garden in back, new electrical & bathroom fixtures. Did not come with stove or refrigerator.
  15. Was there a change in zoning needed to put a commercial operation on a street that is 90 percent commercial and between 2 businesses?
  16. Without visiting every brand and opening the hood it's impossible. My Nephew bought a Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat from a Dodge dealer in Guadalajara that had the US DOT EPA , but not the CARB (California Air Resources Board) stickers. When he got a Job in Arizona it was imported into the USA. At that time it was 8 months old.
  17. Ham by definition is cooked or smoked (= cooking) There is no such thing as raw ham that is called pork.
  18. All hams are pre-cooked. You can buy in them Soriana, Walmart., Super Lake, Panchos , Tony's Meat Market among other places
  19. The bicycle path through Ajijic was built. This construction from Chapala to Jocotepec was not put up to a public vote.
  20. Very doubtful there are more than very few expats in Tapalpa. It is a basically weekend & holiday town in the mountains for Tapatios. Not much there for everday living.
  21. I have traveled to 29 different states in Mexico since 1966 mostly by car.
  22. This outbreak reminds me of the famous swine flue about 11 years ago. They were handing out masks in the airports here in Mexico when people deplaned. CNN had the western world all dying from it. Meanwhile 20,000 people died in th US from the regular flu. Only 11,000 in North America died from the world ending pandemic swine flu.
  23. It is obvious you haven't traveled much in Mexico. One thing to remember about government spending here; it is easier to get kickbacks from a new project than from a repair budget.
  24. Netflix constantly updates it's blocked VPN IP list. Maybe Witopia has been blocked. You could contact Witopia customer service for help.
