  1. Hello The 800 number is for their prefered customers to help with accounts, problems, questions. It is not for the general public to call thus it is not published. They will ask you for a card/account number and name before proceding. the number is 800 228 -2728
  2. Never heard of needing an address in the USA. If you want a credit card then you would want to choose a full service bank such as HSBC, Santandar, BBVA or Citibanamex. Past reports have said they had problems at Citibanamex trying to open an account. At BBVA they have a variety of accounts that would work. They have issued credit cards to many foreigners in the area. Your first card will have a low limit which they will bump up after a year. Also the availibilty of the prefered customer line and a great app allowing you to check your balances, and pay your bills from your armchair. Your app will allert you when your deposit is received. HSBC also has a few accounts that would work for you. Their app is not as good as BBVA, and you will not be a prefered customer without meeting qualifications. I have no friends with accounts at Santandar so I can't say anything about them
  3. The first question: How is your ability to communicate in Spanish? Just because one place has English speakers does not equate to the best place for you. The second question: Will you want a debit card that is good everywhere including online? The third question. Do you want to have an app available to monitor your accounts, send money, transfer funds, pay bills like CFE, Telmex, etc? The fourth question: Do you want a full service bank that offers credit cards, etc or only a place to receive your deposits? For example BBVA has an 800 number in Mexico City for prefered clients (that will include you as a foreign account holder) that will answer in English.
  4. Prepare for the cold. Great Mexican breakfast in the Restaurante Pasada Mazamitla 1/2 block from the plaza on Hildago (the walking street) Second La Troje great Mexican food. Going to Petatan safest to use lakeside highway 15 to get there. Going the back way from Mazamitla on 110 through Jiquilpan and Sahuayo is not exactly safe beacuse of the cartels in charge of the region. Many confrontations on that route lately.
  5. Looks like no replies. Here are a couple of very good free on-line sites https://www.duolingo.com/course/es/en/Learn-Spanish (one of my family members used the English course) https://www.open.edu/openlearn/education-development/university-ready/free-online-spanish-courses Audio with common phrases etc https://www.thespanishexperiment.com/learn-spanish Also learn a few tricks like the https://howismyspanish.com/words-that-are-the-same-in-english-and-spanish/ My trick to learn over 240 words with the same meaning in Spanish and English in 1 minute. Only difference is one letter and the pronunciation Words ention in tion in English end in cion in Spanish and over 240 have the same meaning with the accent on the o action = acción sensation = sensación pronunciation = pronunciación compensation = compensación and so on
  6. Las Vegas Upholstery Mountain east of Multiva in Ajijic Oscar on Gonzales Gallo across from IMSS in Chapala
  7. A true "on-demand" water heater is also called "tankless" If there is a tank then something must keep the water in the tank hot all the time so a "demand" is not required. As posted earlier many small water heaters with tanks were sold in Mexcico as "on-demantd" as a marketing ploy. They maintained hot water in the tank all the time, but when that hot water runs out those units do not have the capacity to heat the water flowing through and as another poster said about 2 showers. When choosing a tankless water heater it is important to buy one with the capacity needed for the service needed. Many people buy an undersize to save money on the initial installation and thus the production does not meet demand.
  8. That could add a lot to your water heating bill as you would basically have the some hot water running 24 hours a day.
  9. They are pirating so it is only a matter of time before the webside goes down. Enjoy while you can and wait for the next illegal one to spring up.
  10. ....Thus my question. Why post about Dish USA experience years ago which has nothing to do with the OP's question?
  11. Beaches have been re-opened as of December 8
  12. Is your Dish system still working for you here at lakeside? And as to Dish Mexico.. it has no connection with DISH USA as far as programming and requires a different receiver. Would be impossible to automatically switch
  13. Received Moderna free at CVS in Texas November. There is still a US government program if you have no insurance or Medicare. Not all pharmacies can offer it. CVS does. They also sent us coupons for $20 for a future purchase from CVS https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/programs/bridge/index.html
  14. Acording to the information on the Azteca 2PM news expect February availability. A doctor's prescription will be necessary. Any other info is just guessing.
  15. The OP is having trouple receiving SHAW it has nothing to do with internet. Starlink is an internet provider and as such would be of no help in receiving satellite TV signals
  16. By your comments you are talking about a tank system which would have a pilot light. If it is an on-demand then you should be able to take an infinate number of showers because as the water passes through the heat tubes it is continually heated since there is no tank.... 10 liters... 100 liters... 1000 liters etc, all the same.
  17. Just a question. How much time have you actually spent in the area? If you had you would have seen vehicles from Suburbans down to Smart Cars in the area. Just like where you live ....buy what suits you with consideration to parts and service. Understand that any factory warranty will not be valid in Mexico if the vehicle isn't purchased here.
  18. You could check with a casa de empeño like FIrst Cash by Soriana. Like any pawn shop I would think they would hold the car.
  19. Since the on-demand is only producing hot water when there is a demand how does changing the temperature setting when there is no demand do anything?
  20. A bigger heater would not help the hot water to travel any faster. Best to locate a small on-demand using new pipes very near the point of use for that area only .
