The first article of Mexico's 1917 constitution prohibits "all discrimination motivated by ethnic or national origin, gender, age, disabilities, social condition, health conditions, religion, opinions, preferences, marital status or anything else that threatens human dignity or degrades the rights and liberties of people." Mexico's Law to Prohibit and Eliminate Discrimination also outlaws age-based hiring practices but does not specify a punishment. Now the reality. Employers specify age and sex in hiring. There are discounts provided based on age by government agencies IE; p

Mostlylost replied to El Cartero's topic in Ajijic/Chapala/Guadalajara
Rules have been changing between you can extend and you can't extend since last some time in the middle of last year. If you are in this situation you should contact one of the experts nearest to you with current knowledge regarding car permits. There ae a couple who post here regularly. -
Mexico Covid Deaths Now 3rd Highest in World
Mostlylost replied to Bisbee Gal's topic in Mexico General
Wow what an illogical statement. To think that someone who came from a different place would be more dangerous than say a Walmart cashier who lives in a house in Chapala with multiple family members, and reuses disposable masks or uses non-disposable masks without proper cleaning between uses. The science has shown in many studies that wearing a KN95 mask (properly), using gel, hand washing, and avoiding prolonged exposure prevents transmission to those using the same regimen. So while you may emotionally think "jaunts to the store" don't count They do. -
Puerto Vallarta News--Covid Vaccine
Mostlylost replied to Floradude's topic in Ajijic/Chapala/Guadalajara
Actually phase 3 trials are carried out in many different countries for each vaccine candidate. The studies are done by independent trial researchers and reported to the companies as well as reported to the WHO, CDC, and other interested organizations. So while China could lie about trials carried out in China, it would be extremely difficult to censor trial information from other countries. Thus you are seeing results reported in Brazil on one Chinese vaccine with poor results. -

Mexico Covid Deaths Now 3rd Highest in World
Mostlylost replied to Bisbee Gal's topic in Mexico General
Not the reason????... if you were in a restaurant you could have been exposed.... If you were in Walmart you could have been exposed... If you visited with friends you could have been exposed. So it is a valid question. Do I? No Why? Because I wear a KN95 mask properly, use gel, wash my hands, and social distance. So the odds I have it are extremely small. If I drove to Ajijic from my house in Texas where I had been taking normal precautions am I any more likely to have covid than someone in Ajijic who used their ATM, went to Walmart, and then a restaurant?? -

Based on public information a PCR test requires 5-6 hours in a laboratory that has all the equipment necessary. Once at the lab, the specimen is processed, which means lab workers extract the virus’s RNA, the molecule that helps regulate genes. “That step of cleaning, the RNA extraction step, is one limiting factor,” said Cathie Klapperich, vice chair of the department of biomedical engineering at Boston University. “Only the very biggest labs have automated ways of extracting RNA from a sample and doing it quickly.” After the RNA is extracted, technicians also must carefully m

Yes Costo will follow all the regulations as do the vast majority of stores in GDL. They do not want to risk being shut down by the inspectors. We're fortunate here at lakeside.

Current Jalisco Restrictions EXTENDED to February 12th

Luckily at lakeside the stores are a bit lax when it comes to following government rules. For my family in GDL it has been a hardship. There in inspectors in GDL that routinely close restaurants and stores for violations. So, like most seniors in GDL, my family members rely on their children to shop for them. -

Guadalajara airport info page. The laboratory is located on the second level of the parking lot and is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The cost of the tests is $ 1,450 for PCR tests and $ 450 for rapid antigen tests. In order to have enough time to obtain the result of their test, passengers are requested to arrive at least 4 hours before the departure of their flight. http://www.aeropuertoguadalajara.com/

Seems to depend on the Oxxo, but I would guess early in the AM or in the evening would be less likely to have a problem You can pay that in Soriana & Walmart as well as Oxxxo & 7-Eleven. -

The Brazil study applies to one of three Chinese vaccines. Not the one Mexico has committed to buy if and when approved. -

No true. for some of us. I and other shoppers over 60 were in the store at a little after 8am -
I entered Walmart a few minutes after 8 AM today without any problem. The young lady on duty watched me use the gel and check temperature. The young man who was checking receipts on people exiting also greeted me as I entered. 2 cashiers open no wait. Other shoppers obviously over 60 were in the store as well.
