  1. I will be returning tomorrow, I had gone to the U.S. A few days before he died . Thank you so much for sharing your stories...all of you...and your appreciation of his gifts and expertise, his compassion. He loved what he was put on this earth to do and he loved all of you. I know that some of you need your medical records and things like that, it will be the first thing I attend to when I get back. Please call the office if there is something you need and I'll make sure you get it. If you want to give a gift, just find someone who needs some unconditional love and give it to them...do something for someone and think of Ricardo when you do it He was a giving person and he would like that. He planned and provided well for me (his wife) I have everything I need. Except him. Betsy

  3. Tonight I will be cheerfully passing out gummy eyeballs purchased on my recent trip to the states, no apologies for spreading my heathen gringo culture to the unsuspecting Mexican children of Chapala mMMUUAAAHaHahahahahha!

    La taverna

Are the owners of La Taverna related to the rude mean guy (Alessandro?) that used to run La Toscana (yellow pizza house)?
  5. This was the worst food I have ever eaten. We only ordered 3 things but really, it was dreadful. Okuma Sushi is a restaurant chain. The "food" is made with mostly pre sliced frozen meat and vegetables. I ordered a simple chicken Teriyaki, it was a bowl of impossibly awful rice that was so chewy and dry it hurt my throat to swallow it. There were 4 small cubes of Chicken that had been cooked to a frazzle and drizzled with a teaspoon of sauce. My husband ate one of the cubes and I ate one but we could not agree if it was fish or chicken, the waiter said it was chicken. They took that back without an argument and deducted the $80.00 from the bill. Next up was an eel sushi cone, it was edible but the tiny pieces of eel were almost undetectable. Then came a sushi roll that was supposed to have shrimp or something in it. Meh. It tasted the same as the roll. The servers were clueless, the flys were pesky. The place was clean and looked nice, but there is absolutly no reason to go there. There isn't even a well intended owner to feel sorry for, it is a faceless corporate place with nothing to offer.
  6. Try Verdolagas, aka Purslane. They are sold all over the place and they are delicious. Look for a bunch that is nice and fresh, if the leaves fall off when you pick it up it isn't fresh. Cut off the root ends and the largest stalks, cook the leaves and smaller stalks like you would cook collards or turnips. They don't need to cook very long. Sometimes when you buy them they will still have the root attached and you can plant them in a pot.
  7. It's difficult to tell from the photo but for sure she has a very bad case of fungus or parasites on her tail , legs and withers...probably a condition called rain rot which is fairly easy to treat. The white hair on her rump is actually scar tissue that is a result of rubbing...either from a rough rope or cheap harness that goes over her back and under her tail or from loads she has carried. The triangular scars look like cuts that have healed. Nothing looks like deliberate abuse to me. She is not that well fleshed out, but can't tell how bony she is because of the remains of her winter coat hiding her backbone and ribs. She belongs to somebody for sure. Tying her up, not good at all for her safety and needs. Poor old girl.
  8. Any chance the car that hit you was blue?
  9. In my experience, you can't import ( by mail) anything at all that is liquid.
  10. I had this problem once when my kids were small, but then we discovered a slice of french toast inside the tape compartment. We took that out and the ants went away.
  11. The man was on his knees, trying to retrieve each of his ugly words that were now scattered on the floor. But, of course, it was too late. ~Dr. SunWolf
