A friend went to today’s performance and said it was the best one yet. She talked a lot about the show and never mentioned anything about any pictures. I told her someone voiced concern about offensive pictures of tRump. She could recall only one. The song used the word baby a lot. At the end a photo of a baby with tRump’s face on it came up on the screen behind the singer(s). She said the audience laughed and cheered. If anyone walked out she was having too much fun to notice.

My take on it too...laughing and no one got up or left!!!!    It was just his ugly face as a baby...but who cares...all in fun....why do people have to slam and negate everything????  Even non political situations...a lip sync for gods sake....get over it!!!!

The line in Ajijic was less than 25 minutes long last night (Saturday) between 7 pm and 9 pm. They were closing at 11. They were giving fill-ups, if asked for. Saw a Pemex truck heading West, while standing at the lights in front of Farm Guad, full, and coming back an hour later empty. Presume La Canacinta.

To my eye, this means less panic, because previously the lineup would have been through La Floresta.

Have not seen any in Riberas today (as of 1:30 pm Sunday).

We got gas after an hour and 40 min. wait out at the BP by La Canacinta.....not bad we thought....filled the tank.   About 8 pm as we drove along the carreterra, heading east a tanker passed us heading west.   Small lines too but still pumping at the west BP.

Exactly.   For example, were they like JIT asked about, or were they more like this one?    😉     Which could be a lot of fun to a "mixed"    (Mex'd??) audience.....those thin skinned ones, aside.

You lost the support of more than several with the stupid pictures of Pres Trump.

Not today..the cheering brought the roof down.....well done crew and cast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good show today, lots of fun...you all worked so hard....and raised funds for the auditorio...which is already much improved from all the efforts.

Go Canadians GO...most of the cast and audience was Canadian!!!!!  It was all in fun..........

Thanks but I was at Soriana yesterday and saw none. I will check the dollar store. I have been through this before-the consignment stores have the opposite-they only have the coffee makers as the glass pots break often.

Coffee makers without a glass pot seem a better option next time. Some of them have a thermos type receptacle instead made of plastic.

Having the same problem more than once...even using a ceramic pitcher of some sort would work.....then reheat in micro if needed.  Or a Pyrex measuring cup.    You can get mileage out of the machine without the proper canister.

  7. Whew, didn't think that this topic would generate so much chatter.....even that certain others would NOT do it to their nails...totally off topic.    I have checked around...this is the new price locally, it can be more...maybe less, just wondering was all I was saying...I will probably continue at the salon while in Ajijic.....and being Canadian...the US conversion means nothing to me.

    Adios...over and out!!!

Surprised that a gel refill is only $21.00 Canadian in Ontario.  Really surprised.

In my city a gel refill is $20.00 cash....and has been for years..........  My issue is not about the Cnd. price...but the increase here............There are many prices for these services, but my concern is here.........

  9. Today I paid $300p for a gel nail refill at the place I have been going to for many years...that is 100% increase since last April.

I paid $200 last season.............           I need to find out what other places are charging in comparison and may change....I do not object to an increase, that is reasonable,  but that much?

Seems a bit high and although the job was done as well as up north, that makes it the SAME price as Ontario.........which is strange.

Also, you are not only paying for the driver's service, you are paying for the use of his car. If you think the cost is too high, walk.

BUT have you not seen the increase in GAS prices.?????    For the locals that is incredible.....how do they pay it?  It is comparable to the $1.30 and up in Ontario....but we earn much more by a long shot!!!

Sometimes one has to compare prices here to north..........I do, to understand that I am still blessed to be here and pay the prices, even if high, compared to home.

Today for example...my Gel nails refill  was 200p all last year...today they were $300!!!!!  That is a big jump...so I will be checking out other places, that equals what I pay in Ontario!  How do the owners justify that??  Is it a gouge?  I don't know, but will check out other places for sure now.

It is always the same...prices go UP everywhere....plus we have that Canadian GST tax........added on to everything.     The increases are worth it to me as a foreigner and for the beauty of the climate and lifestyle here!!   I hope my presence and spending help the locals in exchange for their friendly and mostly welcoming attitude.

    Im back

    Hola Spencer

My lawyer for my estate in Ontario has suggested i take him a copy of my trust...for the property we own here in MX.  Just for MY files...so that it is noted...legally...that we own property here.

I know laws in Canada and Mexico do not consider the other country's trusts or wills...but my question is:  Can you translate our trust..it is many pages?  Or can you make copies of the existing one for me to take back?   My lawyer wanted a copy for the files there...and I'd like to do that.  And if you can do these services, what price would it be approximately?

    Happy New Year..............

  13. Shaw Direct. Canadian satellite. Get an 800 series box, or a used 600 box, and get all those channels and a lot more. People are worried that because they are changing to a newer satellite, which we cannot get in Mexico, that all the channels will disappear. And they will, in a few years.

Note that it is not exactly legal, but it is not exactly illegal, either. Many, many, many people throughout the U.S. and Mexico use the service. You can get details (and warning, it is NOT cheap here for the initial setup) from Ajijic Satellites. Ask for Mike Merryman. 766-3371.

Excellent info Mike....we are returning in Dec. and wondered where this all stood....or if we should bring new boxes down, etc etc...so this helps.  Lets hope it is 'many many more years' before it happens.  Thank you for the update........      Mike Merryman is the man too!!

  15. Why why why...does there always have to be someone to digress from the issue....and make a negative comment...as people who LOVE Mexico and Mexicans...and have lived part time for many years...we are grateful to their help at this time...that was the point in Oatsie's comment!!!!      As Canadians we are grateful...but in the present hateful political climate created by dt towards Cnds. it is difficult to feel warm and fuzzy towards them...but grateful we are.   Geesh...........

    Again....VIVA Mexico!!!               Gracias

I cannot stress how poor the security is on Yahoo's email servers. Does no one recall that two and a half billion emails have been data-mined from Yahoo by hackers over the last four years? Yahoo admitted this publicly earlier this year. Until then, they blamed you, the user, for being too stupid to properly protect your account.

I just opened yahoo to check...it shows me all my facebook messages etc ??? ...but I never use it anymore.  Saw this 'oath' thing...hit 'do it later'....got in ok.  Now what?  I don't know...........      Hope I can just avoid their stuff..............forever maybe??

I never told them to ask Spencer to give them free advice!  But, given all the varying opinions on here, I still think that they should contact Spencer and get proper current legal information.  I agree that he should be paid for his time.  I used him when I first moved down, going from temporal to permanente.  Best money I ever spent!

Us too....Spenser did it all and in a timely manner...and he should never ever be asked to give it free.....if a serious issue, go to his office with an appt....           He does cover many issues here, but that's by choice..HIS choice.....

Suggest you contact a professional such as an attorney familiar with Immigration law rather than depending on a chat board for legal advice. I'm sure the cost would be worth the peace of mind of knowing you got the accurate advice you seek.

On the other hand if you're just looking for amateur opinions.........

Yes to the poster about getting legal and correct advise....don't trust any web board...there is so much mis-information out there...and I have friends suffering from that..Re: car legalities.    Then there is the gossip or those who will argue and make useless comments....

Is an RFC required to renew my car registration?  If so, what is it?  How do I get it?

The RFC# will be required in future for many things...ie: capital gains if selling property, bills, etc.......but even more IMPORTANT....YOUR BILL OF SALE FOR YOUR CAR IS YOUR OWNERSHIP!!!   A friend is going thru this process now to sell their car...and photocopies will not be accepted!!   Keep all your records.....    This RFC # is a NEW regulation coming up....best to get it....

     Just sayin....
