  1. Assuming your talking about the Monday market at Sunrise restaurant. I got there this morning about 9:40, plenty of parking. The crowd was about half the size of normal. Several vendors were also missing. Whether this was because of the holiday or the virus I couldn't say.. Heard one vendor say she was going to be taking several weeks off because of the virus.
  2. And then you have..... Yesterday morning my wife and I had to pick some one up in Chapala around 4:30. Going up the hill from Ixtlahuacan we passed a cow standing on the side of the road. Coming back the same cow had decided to cross back to the upper downhill side. Luckily I had room to swerve and miss her. You never know what you might meet on the roads here. They're out to get ya!
  3. I stopped in today to just get information. Definitely doesn't look temporary. Location is also a lot better than the last one.
  4. If you're bald with just fringe on the sides why not go all the way? I've been shaving my head for the last 25 years, so much easier and cheaper.
  5. I have about 35 kg of cat litter that neither my cat nor I need. The brand is Scoop Away. The majority is in unopened box and sack. Giving it away, take it all. PM me, or the cat (her name is Zoe). Or you can reply on this thread. Can deliver.
  6. Megacable. They have an office right on the plaza in town. By the way we're getting 42.7 download and 4.47 upload.
  7. Another vote for Beto. He's done quite a lot of work around our house. Just remember that the good ones are usually busy so you need to be patient.
  8. Your best bet is to go to Guadalajara. But it's not necessary to go to the fabric district. There is a Parisina store in a shopping center that's located on the right before you get to the Lazaro Cardenas turnoff. Stay on the right side of road as you go up the hill, just after the road crests the hill and starts back down there is an exit. Take it and the first right . The shopping center is there. Can't miss it.
  9. Come meet the group today around 11:00 at Maria Isabel restaurant.
  10. Since they open at 10 do they also serve breakfast?
  11. We've traveled many times between here and our daughter's home in Colorado Springs and find that the crossing at Sta. Teresa, just west of El Paso/Juarez, is the fastest. Usually no more than one or two cars ahead of us.
  12. Are you thinking of Carnes Fines de Sonora? Their address is, Ave. Vallarta #4951. Phone # 333 629-5159. Superb selection of meat.
  13. It's been my experience that to get a good auto upholstery job you need to go to a shop that specializes in auto upholstery. Unfortunately there aren't any of those lakeside. Look in Guadalajara.
  14. There is no renewal for the green card. It's permanent.
  15. I'm really torn about whether I should write this review. I really want Los Cinco Potrillos to do well but after coming back from eating the Sunday buffet I just feel that I have to say something. My wife and I went there at 10:00 which I felt would normally be when a restaurant would be fairly busy for a Sunday buffet. Other than a couple there with their young child we were the only ones in the restaurant and when we left there was no one there. As to the food. There were three dishes besides the beans, chilequiles, eggs and chorizo, and a chicken dish. While the chicken dish was tasty the other two looked to be on their last legs, the chilequiles looked soggy and the eggs and chorizo was getting dried out. They all were also getting cool. They had sterno type burners but they weren't being used. I can understand not putting out a lot of food if there isn't going to be anyone to eat it. I don't know what people that might come in after us would eat but it didn't look promising. No complaints about the price, 80 pesos, but I would have been more than happy to pay more for more variety and quality. Sea mentioned that they were planning on serving pizzas. If that is the case I'll definitely be back to give them another try, if not I doubt it.
  16. Actually it's one block past the plaza, two blocks if you count the plaza.
  17. Good to know, this used to be one of our favorite restaurants. It's also the closest to our house. Will definitely have to give them another try.
  18. Are you one of the people that we met at lunch yesterday? If not, have no worries about bringing your own boats down. Best to check with the club first though as to availability of room. We're building a new rack so still have space available.
  19. As one that has kayaked and now rows on the lake I can state for a fact the lake is usually surprisingly warm. I could be wrong but I surmise that the depth of the lake has a lot to do with that. It's not a particularly deep lake.
  20. I would take the crossing at Del Rio, Texas. Just came down that way last week. Couldn't believe it, no one at either check point, U.S. or Mexico. Roads are also much better. Your other alternative from where you are is the crossing at Santa Teresa, just west of Ciudad Juarez. Very little presence at this border either. Going this way you pass by Ciudad Chihuahua though and I don't like the roads as well. I drove from Santa Fe and the distances are almost equal going either way.
  21. Yes, open all year. We do get the occasional day when the wind kicks up and waves get to 2' or 3' so we might sit it out. Look forward to seeing you.
  22. Too many variables involved. Best to contact the upholsterer. Most of the work that I've had Oscar do I supplied the fabric. He just finished a chair for us this week and even though we supplied the fabric I was very surprised to see how inexpensive it was. I should probably stop extolling his virtues as I have more work that I want him to do and he is busy as always. One other thing that I'd like to bring up is that he is one of the few workers that has given me a completion date and is invariably finished sooner.
  23. Sorry that was your experience. We have a fairly diverse group of paddlers, from 80 years old with 65 years of experience to visitors who have never been in a kayak. We try to match newcomers with more experienced kayakers so that everyone has an enjoyable time.
  24. Sorry you had a bad experience. Don't know what the circumstances were. I'm a founding member and I might be prejudiced but I can't imagine a case when we've not been friendly and open to new members. We have had people who want to join not want to abide by our rules. Everyone who ends up joining the club must eventually take a rescue class showing you're able to rescue yourself or assist in a rescue in case a boat goes over. As to SUP's we don't have any members that are using stand up's at this time. We originally only had sit-in kayaks but have since gotten some members who use Hobie sit on top so who knows what we might add in the future. We are starting to get limited in space.
