  1. They should let you use a Notario.
  2. Same as it was back in 2007/ 2008. Big oil pretending there was a shortage, making huge profits and price of gas going up.
  3. And I mentioned an alternative to driving to SAT for Mario's. I use Traitte for my Mario's fix.
  4. This is from several years ago. You can block your number by putting yourself on the do not call list for financial institutions every 2 years here: https://webapps.condusef.gob.mx/reus/app/registro.jsp and for regular marketing calls here: https://repep.profeco.gob.mx/
  5. You can get turmeric with black pepper from several of the vendors at the Tuesday Market.
  6. And just for the record, there is no legitimate Lake Chapala Reporter. It is a scam. The correct name is Guadalajara Reporter.
  7. We too love Mario's restaurant. We have them delivery using Traitte. Not the same as dining in but the food is still wonderful.
  8. Good idea. I posted this for a friend and will pass the idea on. Thanks
  9. This puppy is deaf, but, she can hear high pithed sounds - like a squeaky toy, hand clapping or when you talk to a dog in a happy high pitched voice - like: Good Girl!! She is a 6 month old female Terrier -mix [ so will not be a large dog ] she is calm and friendly, vaccinated and spayed. She is owned my a Mexican family who have young and very active children. The family has no idea how to deal with the disability and care of this puppy. They have requested Vet Mayra to assist them, and hoping they can find someone who can adopt her. If you are interested in adopting this little girl, please contact Vet Mayra [ in Chapala ] at : 333 195 4877 , or MAYRA IBARRA MENDOZA <chapala_up - at - @hotmail.com> [ substitute 'at' for the @ sign - trying to avoid SPAM ] Vet. Maya speaks English very well, and she will work with you in communications with the family who are looking to find a home for this sweet little girl.
  10. Thanks guys. I have private duty nurses for the stuff I can't do, only having one working arm is a pain, but I am getting better slowly. Poco a poco...
  11. Yesterday morning I tripped and fell at the Tuesday Market. I bruised my knee and rib, and have a hairline fracture in my left shoulder. Good news is that I can still walk, and it was my left arm. Bad news is that I have a body sling so clothes are a problem, typing is a pain, and I have trouble getting up and down. It could be much worse. I have a big favor to ask. Does anyone know where I can buy locally a large caftan (prefer some cotton) with a front zipper? I am short so not too long. Many thanks.
  12. Latest Russian joke: - Putin's propagandists on TV said nuclear war is fine because patriotic Russians will go to Heaven. Heaven heard it and immediately applied to join NATO! — Garry Kasparov
  13. Also, it memory serves, there were some serious infrastructure issues with the building by Coco-Cola. The pylons weren't deep enough for the weight of the proposed structure. Sure hope that was fixed and not just glossed over.
  14. In Colorado we used to say we had 3 seasons - winter, July and August. I have seen it snow in the Denver/Boulder area in June and September. And I have shoveled my last snowflake!
  15. That's what I was afraid of. What a mess.
  16. I may have missed it on the thread, but I can't find if there is an SAT office in Chapala. If so, where is it? I am trying to navigate the SAT site, but Chrome stops translating about the time I try to make an appointment. Would like to know if there is a local office or if I will have to go to Guad. GRRRR
  17. From coughing, sneezing... Easy to avoid, wear masks and social distance. THey are also saying that being vaccinated against smallpox appears to help. Oh dear - what if a booster is needed since the shots are so many years old? I see heads exploding. 🤣
  18. Fred, the fact that you and your wife are good, caring people also helps. A bit of good karma never hurts.
  19. Here is the current information as of Jan 2022: Chapala Ecología Dept. Call the main City Hall phone number at (376) 765-8025 and ask for ext 175. Or, you can call their cellphone number at (331) 101-1289. Supposedly, whoever answers this phone number speaks English. The Ecología office is open Mon-Fri, 8am-3pm.
