I recently returned to Mexico. I had a Verizon plan but knew that they wanted $10/day to allow my unlimited plan in Mexico. I had an opportunity to visit Tlaquepaque, Jalisco last December prior to my move. I switched to T-Mobile prior to my visit. Although they said that everything would work down here perfectly, I ran out of high speed data within 3 days and was switched to the lower speed data. The problem is that at the lower speed I was unable to do anything with it. I could not even play a simple online game on my phone. After I returned to the US I switched to ATT. It works fine for me here now. Internet is always good but there are a couple of dead spots for phone calls around the Chapala/Ajijic area but overall good, without the extra daily or monthly charges for international service. Also T-Mobile told me that if did not return to the US every 6 months that they would disconnect my service. I don't know if that is true or not but I did not want to risk it.

FYI, I just ordered Starlink. The initial cost for equipment and the first month was $498.24 USD and won't ship for another 1 or 2 weeks. I hope it's worth it.

Thank you Natasha. I went and used the HSBC ATM in Walmart and they only allowed me to take out $15,000 but that will be fine.
Google maps shows me CiBanco in the plaza across from Tubolandia with the casino. Is that the ATM you were speaking of?

Thank you very much.

Great, thanks. I will probably just go to Walmart but can you tell me where the HSBC bank is for future reference?

I'm looking for an ATM that allows me to withdraw large amounts. My withdrawal limit is $1000 US per day so I was wondering if anyone know of an ATM that will allow me to take out $16,000 Pesos at a time. I will be renting an apartment soon and need to be able to pay 1st and last en efectivo. I'm currently in Ribaras Del Pilar but can travel a little distance if needed. Thanks, Mike

I plan to return to Mexico to live permanently. I am trying to decide which US cell phone company to use while I am down there. I will of course have a Mexican cell phone too but which US carrier should I use for my US line? I currently use Verizon but they will be very expensive to use in Mexico.
Any advice would be helpful.

I was told that there are no alcohol detox centers in the area. Does anyone know of a nurse or doctor that I can pay to come to my house and help me stop? I live in Chapala, Thanks.
