  1. Woodworking school needs tools 50% matching, Sept 13 to 17, 2021 Little by Little Campaign. It is never really that easy to describe what impact is made through a single donation, whatever the amount. However, together every gift offered goes to making a profound impact on young vulnerable lives. The Covid 19 has disrupted education systems across the world. The closures of schools has had devastating effects on children and their ability to exercise their human rights to education. Education systems were already in crisis even before the pandemic and now facing drastic budget cuts. At the height of the crisis vast majority of children had their education interrupted. Particularity the poorest children, which is the most vulnerable population at risk. The majority of the children are in learning poverty. They do not have access to local schools due to limited enrollment or an access to online education. Education is the hope of sustainable global economies and individual incomes. Gaining these foundational educational skills is priority for literacy and social emotional learning. The vital news is there is a solution and a way forward that turns the crisis into an opportunity, but only with urgency now. Making education inclusive, engaging and adaptive. Have Hammer Will Travel A.C Woodworking school has rebuilt its volunteer team and hired a new woodworking staff for the Sept 2021 semester. We will be focusing on educational technology where it has been effective, proven and most equitable. At HHWT we will be better at utilizing our resources by coordination, alignment and effectiveness by partnering with Conalep Technical College. In August 2021 we completed all the legal papers and turned the application to work officially with Conalep. Conalep Technical college (Colegio de Educación Profesional Técnica Del Estado de Jalisco) required that we be vetted by the Mexican governmental board of Conalep. HHWT looks forward to that relationship and providing scholarships to our students to move onto higher education at Conalep. Hopefully to be vetted in 2021. Our Sept enrollment at HHWT has been successful. We are at capacity with a waiting list. So, we are excited to announce through our partnership with Global Giving we can make every small donation made go even further. Have Hammer Will Travel Woodworking school will participating in the Little by Little Campaign organized by Globalgiving where they will match donations up to $50 USD at 50%. 6. Howard Feldstein helped Have Hammer Will Travel A.C start its first woodworking class for Mexican youth on the LCS back patio. The Mexican youth used only hand tools. LCS was the nurturing mother of Have Hammer Will Travel A.C. woodworking school 13 years ago. The Board of Directors of HHWT will never ever forget the importance of LCS in reaching out to the local Mexicans and helping get HHWT started. LCS is fully aware of the pre existing learning crisis in education among Mexican youth. These young boys and girls learned how to use woodworking hand tools and gained life skills though woodworking. Please support LCS, they do more than you realize. You can make donation's and get a 501c3 tax deductible receipt through the Foundation for Lake Chapala Charities. The Covid 19 had disrupted education locally here at lakeside. The closure of schools has had a devastating effects on children locally do to having their education disrupted. Please support LCS as they support and nourish Mexican youth. HHWT school is starting up again and we are fully enrolled for the Sept semester and have a waiting list. Thank you LCS for helping HHWT and supporting HHWT at the beginning. Look what LCS helped create over local 554 boys and girls have pasted through HHWT in the last 13 years

  14. We are short on volunteers, our experienced volunteers are up north to November. We ran out of money. last year because we had no face to face fundraisers and had to cut back unwillingly almost 40% on all expenses. The board of directors and wonderful supporters of our school had to chip in and pay the bills. we almost went out of business, we had to shut the doors for a while.. We have fixed overhead expenses, rent etc Lalo went and found another job, We could not even keep him part time. We miss Lalo. He was with us 10 years. He is very smart and talented . He does work out of his home on weekends. if you still need his service I apologize that you did not get the same service Lalo gave you. if a class is in progress any volunteer has told not interrupt the class, we put signs up. Please stop by between 12 noon and 1pm Mon Tues Thurs Fri when no classes are being held, I am sure you will get good service you deserve. Lalo left his new business cards at the shop ,, come by and pick one up. he does work in evenings and weekends at his home We are waiting to see what rules we have to follow by the govt, as we are planning to start a class for young girls and women in Sept. We pray we do not get shut down again by the Govt its tough and unpredictable time this Covid 19 pandemic. Everyone is grumpy and volunteers are overworked. Please be flexible during these uncertain times. Thank you for your generous support of the students. If any wants to partner with and help the women's class coming up here's a link to donate. https://www.globalgiving.org/microprojects/a-gift-of-an-education-will-change-a-generation-1/ With affinity H Wayne Renz Treasurer HHWT
