  1. I feel sorry for any installers because management is screwing up so badly in the communications department.
  2. Do you have to order Peking Duck in advance? It's been a long time since I've had it but that was always the case in China Town in Toronto. A truly spectacular dish!
  3. Riberas on San Mateo. I got the call (no e-mail or text) this morning at 10 am that the installer would be here in a half an hour. He was and he left at 1:30 pm... up and down three different poles making secure connections until the wire actually got to my house. I asked a lot of questions of Juan Jose (the installer). Where any iLox junction box is, only eight nodules are available for connection. Any line from that junction box is in ONE piece (not spliced) direct to your new iLox modem. Installation includes up to 100 meters of wire after which the cost is 10 pesos per meter. The installer was very nice and very efficient. He told me he is working on his own since his partner fell backwards off a ladder two months ago. I did not ask how many installers iLox actually has (sorry).

  5. I have not tried the wifi because I know it sucks. I got phone and internet but won't be using the phone either. It is just worth it to me because I have had so many problems with Telmex here (Ajijic) in the past. I intend to keep my Telmex line and internet but may try out the 389 peso level (currently paying 599 pesos) of Telmex to see what happens to that speed. If it drops then I may go back up to 599.
  6. I've been waiting since May 14th, 2018 when I paid a year in advance. The installer, , Juan Jose, was fabulous with a great sense of humour. I told him I couldn't accept the modem because it's white and everything else on my desk is black. We had a good giggle. The modem is hardwired to my laptop and I'm, finally, a happy camper. This is the speed with fast.com
  7. There are plants that will cause intestinal distress or poisoning in dogs and the calla lily is one of them. I no longer have any in my garden. Dogs are usually looking for something to help an upset tummy (like plain old grass) and pick on the wrong plant. They don't know the difference so it's up to you because I highly doubt that any landscaper will know. Here's one link (that leads to another link with more)... https://dogs.lovetoknow.com/wiki/List_of_Plants_Poisonous_to_Dogs

  9. Do you want the heat value and light in the winter? If so, I would suggest an attractive retractable awning. Or you can fit your doors with something that is only put on during the hot months... sort of like screens but with UV resistant material instead of the screen that will give you the best of both worlds... kinda like a$$ backwards storm windows.
  10. Me too. And I have three implants and they are 6 years old. However, I vape and have since 2013. Implants are fine, teeth are fine and gums are in great shape... and I didn't need a bone graft to start the process.
  11. One of the responses was about leaf cutters which prompted Floradude's post. I take the plant out of the pot and soak the root ball in a bucket of water to drown any ants... wash the pot free of ants and re pot the plant. It's not perfect but it usually works. If the plant is in a saucer and you water the plant until the saucer is full on a regular basis, it is unlikely that the ants will take up residence in the pot. Therefore, underwatering of the potted plant may be responsible for the cozy home which they have created.
  12. We're looking for the February Bill which will be due in March. It's not there yet. I suspect it will be there soon... maybe.
  13. LOL! If you've ever driven a car in Rome, you'd know that the traffic problems in Ajijic are tiny by comparison. There are so many drivers on the roads here that simply do not follow basic traffic rules that it would fill the coffers of city hall to overflowing if the traffic police would simply do their jobs. I see multiple blatant examples every single time I'm out and about.
  14. What's interesting is that 499 pesos for 150 GB plan doesn't exist with Telcel (modem internet for home)...https://www.telcel.com//personas/telefonia/planes-de-renta/tarifas-y-opciones/internet-en-tu-casa But it does for Netwey (click on paquetes) ... https://secure.netwey.com.mx/site/
  15. I don't think there is any resistance but banning isn't the solution either. I use my own bags for the big shopping and refuse a bag for a small item I might buy elsewhere. But we still need bags for garbage and poop collection because that also helps protect the health of sanitation workers. If the bags are biodegradable within a year then that would be a good compromise. I've been recycling since 1990 but recycling properly means that the items be clean (also for the health of recyclers)... and I don't want to waste water to do that either. It's a conundrum. Damned if you do and damned if you don't.
  16. Or when they sneeze them out. LOL. Yeah, the half mast mask drives me nuts too.
  17. I buy the poop bags at Friends of the Animals beside Ladron's Clinic... https://earthrated.com/ The green ones 120 bags in 8 rolls. They are degradable at 18 month. They don't sell the truly compostable bags... yet. Also Kudos to SuperLake... they are providing biodegradable plastic bags for their customers... and they're strong too.
  18. Oy vey! Good point! First, I will note that the article is from two years ago and secondly, it concentrates on fudging THC results to charge more for the product. That said, you raise a very good point Rick and it also goes hand in hand with the FDA rapid approvals without double blind studies. Just who can you trust in this world of ours. It's a crap shoot. Here's the Pro Verde website... http://www.proverdelabs.com/ In the end, I think it comes down to what you try and what works for you... consistently. Never give up and never assume that CBD doesn't work for you until you've tried a number of options. Even patented medicines don't work the same for everyone. It will always be trial and error.
  19. I just can't help myself. The first company that I bought from was HealthyHempOil.com in 2014. At that time, they were not posting third party certificates of analysis. There were few manufacturers and even less information available. I wanted my hubby to try it for pain relief since Fentanyl, Buprenorphine, Morphine and Methadone were doing nothing for him. Unfortunately it arrived two weeks after he passed away. Now, they are posting them... scroll down the two links and click on the test results to bring up a PDF. The first one is what I ordered... has other beneficial cannabinoids besides just the CBD and THC content shown... also has a LOT of terpenes (which is good and can predict how you may react to it). The second link is of a certificate of analysis of (TA DA!!!) ELIXINOL which they also sell. Click on the test result. https://healthyhempoil.com/shop/herbal-renewals/gold-cbd-oil/ https://healthyhempoil.com/shop/elixinol/elixinol-hemp-oil-300/ edited to add: it's up to you whether you want/need full spectrum CBD (the first link) or an isolate (the second link). To help you make a choice, you may want to read this google search (at your leisure)... https://www.google.com.mx/search?source=hp&ei=gWlNXrSBJoyGsAX8jbTwDQ&q=which+is+better+cbd+full+spectrum+or+isolate&oq=which+CBD+is+better%2C+full&gs_l=psy-ab.1.0.0i22i30.1928.14955..19147...0.0..1.491.2843.15j9j4-1......0....1..gws-wiz.......0.ZUdtdqNYVqY
  20. There's no cure for a lot of illnesses. However, there are anti-viral drugs to treat a virus... they are just not very effective against the coronavirus. https://www.cdc.gov/flu/treatment/whatyoushould.htm
  21. Yes, Dru Davies has signed up for Unet but, like all the others, they are being selective about where they run their wires and do connections so as to get the most bang for their buck. She's still waiting in Rancho Alegre but the other side of the highway is connected. It's a crap shoot.
  22. I think she means the store which is beside the second hand furniture store on the south lateral of the highway before you get to Juan Alvarez. I also highly suspect that the modem "worked hardly at all" before the end of the monthly pay cycle is because of the data cap. I hope you have better success with your new modem Susy and would appreciate feedback on what happens towards the end of this billing cycle.
  23. I'm done. I've given as much information as I can to tell people that CBD is worth considering for their health problems (google is your friend) but it's only as good as is certified by third party testing as to what's in it and what's not in it. Your choice.
  24. Fine. Go ahead and take a chance with your health. I have had no problems whatsoever with Alex Peterson bringing in anything through Aduana at the border. It ships to his facility in Texas and he brings it across. Legally through Aduana. NuLeaf ships by courier, it goes through Aduana in Mexico City and is received by iShop. There is no duty in either case.
