  1. You must get your 02 up over 90 as there will be damage to you if you remain in the 80's or lower for long periods
  2. You might also try Oxy Reyes in Riberas. I saw several units in his warehouse. He also rents Oxygen tanks in many sizes. Buying one now costs about 10000 mxp for a serviceable one.
  3. Pancho says he can get it....you might drop off this picture and mention that it is also called HALVAH.
  4. The Smoke House Onion rings taste factory made and the fact that a portion contains rings in the same size....is suspect
  5. I read it as well. The few men that got away said that they were beaten and their vehicles taken. They also noted that there was no police presence on that whole stretch.
  6. Yes! Jocotepec still has one. It is greatly reduced from years past. Most tables are bazaars and cheap shoe outlets; further in are fruits and green veggy's The market has been moved towards the edge of town and is more difficult for the foot traffic to reach. There is also a Sunday market which is more new items....shirts, shoes; hats and some cheap food stalls.
  7. Dennis: I DO NOT suggest anyone use MET-Life, who we are stuck with. They have tried to avoid any payments they can get away with and if it weren't for my current agent....I'd be screwed. If you are over 70 yrs old....they won't take you and if you have anything in your past that was a major health problem....then it is a no as well! We had a very "personable" agent who was very unsatisfactory in the beginning and getting rid of his group was helpful and financially a huge savings on claims as well as aggravation ....so choose wisely and it won't be cheap but it sure beats having to go into your own pocket.
  8. UPDATE: I know people are curious about these situations....so as of this moment, my final bill will exceed 700,000 mx pesos and that includes the surgeon and all participants; the private room; meds; rehab services; ambulances etc.....but, I am told that my total will be....less than 5700 usd after my insurance and co-pay. Am I happy? No... as I wish the incident never happened but the price is acceptable for the quality of the facility and the doctors and my credit cards will be accepted without any hassle and the remaining balance will be by direct pay from the insurer. Without insurance coverage I would be reduced to eating rainbirds for a while. I am not happy with my insurance company as I believe they all suck, but my agent has been a great, great asset.
  9. This hospital is virtually brand new and very impressive. It was included on the list of hospitals by my insurance co and had the surgeon and doctors that we needed as well as a large blood bank.. The rooms are like a fine hotel including toiletries and a broad and full menu with a restaurant that offers fair prices and very attentive service. At this time, parking is free and very plentiful . There is a large english speaking medical staff but very little english in the insurance offices or billing offices. This is a very large facility and seems to be very modern and attractive in all ways. The hospital is located on Avenida Central 911 in Zapopan. It takes about an hour to reach it from Jocotepec. Negatives: I wish it were easier to get to; need more english speaking office staff; signage does not offer english but help is always nearby. It is very expensive.
  10. Good thing that most future residents seldom read this site anymore or more of them would consider retiring somewhere else.
  11. I have a space to share in an IShop PO box ......14 months for $80.00 usd. You must get very little mail and no magazines. This box is mostly to give you Texas address for credit cards, etc.
  12. She has seen me on a Saturday but I can't find her emergency number.....maybe someone else has it.
  13. Every letter of the alphabet was allowed each day that the vacunas were given...you merely stood on the lines that listed your first initial of your last name...ie ABC or HIJ etc. I was with numerous senior USA and Canadian people and NONE were turned away if you had the paperwork that been requested...you did have to show the receipt for your first shot to be able to be given the second shot. We had an appointment for both shots and were in and out in two hours for each event.
  14. We were told, in Jocotepec, that we would be given the ability to download an "official" certificate within the next few weeks. Our current form shows that we received two vacunas....unfortunately very few countries accent the Sinovax at this time.
  15. We received our 2nd shot today at the Jocotepec Hospital. Things didn't go as smoothly as with the first one but everyone was friendly and very helpful...right on to lending my wife a wheelchair and letting her wait under a tent top until it was her turn. The lines were very long and it was very hot.
  16. Toll roads contracts allow the private "owners" a yearly increase up to 10% and they must use most of that for upkeep and improvements.
  17. several teenagers were able to bring three flying ribeyes down with their slingshots but most of the flying ribeyes were out of range.
  18. My regular plumber is now too busy for little jobs. My house in Jocotepec doesn't, knock on wood, have any major problems anymore. I need a man for leaks or pump problems.....Someone local would be great. Thanks
  19. The allPoint unit is privately owned by the casino as is the one that was at Soriana and which was owned by a private servicing unit. ...you will be charged for the use!
  20. Thank you...I did contact him and he responded quickly. I will file, as is required, in 2022 when the next tax reporting is required. I have noticed that Lakeside7 is wrong nearly 110% of the time so I ignore that advice. I know that it is your duty to avoid over paying taxes by any LEGAL means. Dual citizenship does not excuse US Tax reporting requirements. Even with a Mexican Passport...I still must report my US income or foreign bank accounts....based on the actual deposits. There are laws that prevent a dual citizen from paying taxes twice but this is a reporting requirement only.
  21. We were able to remove my wife's SSN but my request was rejected as they said the account was over 5 years old and was opened as an individual account with my paperwork. I agree about the "we have no customer service" at the bank, but I am willing to jump thru some hoops while keeping this account open......so I will file the FBAR and hope that some moron government official in the USA raises the base level for reporting or drops this annoyance altogether.
  22. Thanks...we are Mexicans as well and BBVA has notified us that they will file anyway. In 2020 the account never exceeded $5000 us in value but this month $30,000 in usd value hit the account as a medical reimbursement and there will be many more large and small deposits. I know that I do not need to file until 2021 taxes are due but I just wanted get my ducks in a row.
  23. I appreciate your information but, at least for the first time, I want an accountant to file for me. Some problems are; I can't say how much the account will have in it as medical services can debit or add deposits sometimes without my knowledge.
