  1. The owner of this lot owns a large building supply outlet in Jocotepec. Four years ago he put up a fence made of large timbers  with wires that were drilled thru the wood  which were removed by the local folks, one to two at a time until only a single one which had too much dry rot, remained....and then that was gone and then the trash heap grew again, larger and more noticeable. I am sure this little bit of now clean, level somewhat green space will be gone soon or whenever someone pays the high purchase price.....but then again I will probably be gone as well.

As to making a difference that will LAST....I am reminded of the description of "your life and it's legacy".....take a pail and fill it with water....now make a fist and plunge it into the water and then withdraw your fist.....the hole that you left in the water is representative of our legacy after we are gone.

  2. In my neighborhood in centro Jocotepec there are now very few building lots that aren't sprouting new construction...but there is one across from my house. Two years ago it was trash strewn and even featured broken furniture. I didn't want to complain to anyone and I didn't want to say anything to the passing cars throwing beer cans and bottles into the mass. I began by putting hooks on my wooden utility pole., which graces our corner..and then putting my trash bag on them....always adding several Costco trash bags with the trash I began picking up. At first, a few people began adding their bags and then I began clearing the lot and removing rocks and large trash....then people began speaking to me as I toiled at my personal "windmill" as they passed going to work. The bottles and cans stopped being thrown and now people clean up after their assorted pets. and all trash is now neatly left for the municipal p/u truck...I purchased an electric mower and keep the wild grasses cut close. This week some neighbors borrowed the mower and cut down the weeds on the rest of our privada....Even the cow pies are shoveled away by some neighbors and torn garbage bags are replaced by new ones that the dog packs can't reach and other residents carry a shovel to keep the lot pristine..........and I get something to do other than being a couch potatoe.

  3. Thank you....but I was shopping on Amazon USA....and this chair, while nice, is too heavy for me to get in and out of a Honda Fit. My wife is handicapped by the need for twenty four-seven oxygen needs and no other mobility problems....I just needed to get her from the curb or parking lot of Quality care and maybe a restaurant.I saw this chair and saw that it was just not what I could handle. My chair came in at 135.00 USD after all the discounts and courtesies that were extended to me and extremely light weight to lift out of the car...fold up tightly and do what I need it to do.

  4. I guess, I accept the customer mistreatment at Walmart......for the lower prices. It still amazes me that the store has twenty checkouts but only two or three are open, if you are lucky....it also is humerus to watch the three cashiers try to cash or change a 500 pesos note and forget plastic bags!

As to shopping carts....some are older than Sam Walton and and as clean as a pig stye

  5. I shopped Amazon, great prices, numerous models but $119.00 usd in delivery and tax costs. Then I went to Lake Med, 5 models but the lowest price was 5500 mxp, tried Bianca and her husband, found them friendly but expensive plus a service charge to use my CC. Then off to my very, very least favorite....good ole "Wallstupid".....alas they had a wheelchair, after denying that they had any in stock, but back in the area where they sell walkers, canes etc and not upfront near the registers where the space still has an outdated price sticker. They had lowest price for the same chair as Lake Med at 3300 mxp....but then they ruined my day some more by asking if I had my "old person's card..." Yes, I did and they then gave me 5% more off the price......plus my credit card gives me 3% more back with no international fee.......I may have to give WallyWorld more respect or at least, less dislike even if the check out lines stretch to San Juan PR.

Well, I still like to go to them last....but isn't the last place you look....where you find what you were looking for?

  6. Happy:

New reality...last night Jocotepec was hit with 5-6 on off of the electric grid in quick succession...it even knocked out my solar array which had to be set up again today. My concentrator was also damaged. I took it in to the repair shop and they determined that it will still deliver three liters but no longer can you trust it to deliver the full four or five liters. They suggested I NOT sell it to you and offer it to the dealer who will pay for the repairs and rent it out....the new value before repairs is five thousand pesos at most. So, for your sake, our deal is over. Sorry.

They are getting quotes for a portable should you still be interested.

  7. I hope this is okay because there is no place for medical ads.

My wife's lung condition has deteriorated to a point where I need a 10 liter O2 concentrator so I want to sell my 5 liter unit by Devilbiss. It is not a Chinese unit but a USA company product. It uses a water bottle system to lubricate the airflow. We fully serviced the unit this month...installing a new permanent filter and a new washable filter and even a new water bottle unit. The unit provides continuous flow up to 3.5 and 4-5 liters for a shorter period , strong airflow up to 50 feet away with the airline and cannula. I am asking 10000 mx pesos and can deliver to Ishop at your convenience. Questions and more information by calling me at 3313519102
