  1. ?? What is that about. I travel 1400 km on a regular basis on a car and I have never been stopped and have been doing it for 25 years.. Sure bad things can happen but a little common sense goes a long way.. If people are to live always being scared of one thing or another maybe they should not live in Mexico.. The US are so much safer.. Ha ha..

  2. Has no one ever heard of proof reading? Have you ever read the posts on this and TOB? 😂

  3. Well, if they do it like they do in Canada (don't know about the U.S.), they will fix the street first. Then they will dig it up to put in the sewer lines. Then they will fix the street again. Then dig it up to put it new water lines. Then they may fix the street again... or not.

  4. Having prostate "problems" a close friend shared with me his recent experience with examinations' and recommendations' from Urologist Dr Fabian Gargcia at QC and a US, Dr Mark Christ in Miami. My friend who frequently travels between MX and the US wanted to obtain a second option for this "delicate" situation. His Blood work indicated a high PSA of 39 My friend had previously seen Dr Fabian about 6 weeks ago and was prescribed a course of medicines, which did not improve my friends problem of frequently wanting to pee and alway having drible left in his bladder. Latter whilst visiting the US he was able to obtain a Ultrasound of his bladder. This test help's your doctor see how much urine you have left in your bladder after you urinate. Last week my friend revisited Dr Fabian informing him the course of meds had not improved his problem and shared with him the results obtained from the Echogram, a volume of 50ml, which is considered to be adequate/good, bladder emptying. Regardless of these results Dr Fabian next recommendation was to do a APE which includes scoping your urethra and also taking a biopsy of the prostate, and was enthusiastic to set up an appointment. My friend not so eager indicated he would think about. This week, fortuitously, my friend was able to see a Dr Christ in Miami, who listened to my friends experience and saw the EGM report and the previous meds prescribed by Dr Fabian. As was expected Dr Christ gave my friend a digital rectal exam, confirmed some abnormalities and possible a presence of cancer. Dr Christ recommendation. Not to do any biopsy or intervention , which would required my friend stop one of the meds he is taking for heart related issues. He prescribed the following meds; Flomax (Tamsulosion) and Avodart (Dutasteride) "come back to see me in November" ....."Because many prostate cancers grow so slowly an older man you have little concern that you may die from it"......"and take care as you cross the road you could get run over by a bus"!! Oh and my friends age ....... 91 years old, (young)

  5. What happened is there was probably a GDL driver here to drop off a customer and you asked at just the right time before they returned to GDL> It might happen on a weekend more often.

  6. Inflation is happening all over the world and is a result of shipping and supply difficulties that are due to the Covid Pandemic. You know... the pandemic that the previous administration tried to say would be over by Easter of 2020. Now you have the war in the Ukraine... the Ukraine is also known as the breadbasket of the world.

  7. I had the TURP procedure many years ago due to enlarged prostrate plus recurring urinary track infections. I had many of the symptoms as the OP describes. I also was prescribed one of the meds mentioned, but doing research decided to go "natural" and have been using Saw Palmetto Extract with excellent results. Flowing good ever since!!!

  8. We know several people that went to CFE is Chapala and only had to give them their RFC number and CFE account number. Nothing else was required.

  9. After reading the recent stopping of many cars and bad-guys going from car to car taking cell phones/ wallets, etc, plus two dead "resistors" I', repeating a suggestion I made a few years ago. Carry a "bait" wallet/purse. Get an old wallet/purse and put in a few $20.00 notes and if you have, old/expired cards, etc. When the bad=guys come to your car, just hand them the bait. They are not going to go through the booty then-and-there. You can modify above as needed.Men can do this generally with the real wallet in a front pocket. Women, who are targeted most, can use a bait purse and have their must-carry in a fanny pack. Remember that anything stolen can be replaces. Don't resist, your life can't be replaced.

  10. The title of your post is "So much for my road trip idea..." That implies that you are now scared to travel.

  12. It can happen and there highway robbers there is no denying it but at the same time not enough to stop all travel.. It would b a real shame to live in this country and not being able to travel. You can take a few precautions that can help and forget about it, Happens what happens or live locked up in you house.. I chose to live and enjoy life and if I get robbed be it. , II am not going to stop doing things I enjoy at 76 because I may die or get robbed.. I will die for sure anyways. so I am going to enjoy myself as much as I can until I cannot.. period.

  14. Including yours? On the other hand, you may have a deformed "d" on your laptop. It was a hilarious comment and absolutely true but I'm referring to the documentation of IMPORTANT stuff. I am still trying to get an answer to the difference between a Cedula de Identificacion Fiscal and a Constancia de Situacion Fiscal. Are they the same? I have the first (a full page printed) and it has a QR code on it and states quite clearly "Inscripcion persona fisica sin actividad economica extranjera". Apologies for the lack of the appropriate accent marks. I read that the CARD is required with photo and signature because of the number of Mexicans with the same name and all of this is to distinguish between them. We, as foreigners, rarely have totally duplicated names and we have other identifying documents like passports and INM cards that already have our photos and signatures on them.

  15. I just bought a new car last Tuesday at a large dealership in Guadalajara called Camarena Automotriz Occidente and also gave them my Cedula de Identificacion Fiscal... the one with the QR code. My invoice shows a generic RFC. When I asked why they didn't use MY number, they stated that is how their system is set up. Duh. I understood it to mean that the person who inputs the information on the invoice can't be trusted to do it correctly. Double duh. Has no one ever heard of proof reading?

  17. Thanks for pointing out that you used an android. I'll give it a whirl. Definitely it will be easier to attempt a signature horizontally.

  18. No. My signature looked nothing like it does when I use a pen and I am guessing that's the case with most of us

  19. Thank you for sharing this. I took my last bill and a printed screenshot from Haciendas that showed my CURP (used to find my RFC) and my RFC to CFE. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes.

  20. ednet94 I think you are on to something. Last evening I tried the Spanish version. No problems and very easy. I received my first appointment request--Ocotlan, June 9th. at 9:30. This morning I will go into the Recaudadora and pay (required within 72 hours.)

  25. I went to CFE yesterday in Chapala and added my RFC. I used the old printout for the RFC, not the New constancia de situación fiscal. They added my RFC without a problem. They did not ask for the additional information described in the video and only available on the constancia

  28. There is no legitimate UBER service in this area. The locals use the term UBER to mean any driver operating as an "executive driver" or, a taxi without a license. I avoid them. If you do a search on this forum you will find numerous recommendations for drivers. Don't expect a cheap ride- gas is high, maintenance is high, and drivers must often wait while you complete your activity- however it does pay to shop around. Those recommended by some on this board are significantly higher than others.

  31. You think govt hasn't done that before? I'm just saying what I would do if I was in the situation of possible rule changes. No reason to not double check because if they didn't Grandfather the old rules people might have some legal issues to settle. I have ran 100 million + budgets and with that all the govt rules that go with it. Lucky for me the corps I worked for had large groups of lawyers who's only job was to find new laws and make sure we were compliant. Again no skin off my butt just saying what I would do to sleep better.

  32. I was giving my opinion of what I would do in your situation. Govt can change rules as they like and it's up to the business to stay compliant. Do as you wish no skin off of me. But to me it looks like things have changed and a quick check is never a bad idea.
