  1. Also, I would not demand someone else not get them because I won't. It is not my place to make decisions for another adult.

  2. That is certainly one view point from some physicians. There are also many physicians with a totally different analysis of the situation. It is not selfish to do what one believes is in the best interest for one's health. I, for one, am of the opinion those shots will do me a lot of harm based on medical history, so according to you, I should it anyway ....for others. No. I will not ruin my health that way.

  3. Re: hot dogs. There are LOTS of foods that you don't know or understand what's in them. It's all a matter of perception. Thanks to Bisbee Gal who posted this on Inside Lakeside...

  4. If you were in need of critical surgery would you be satisfied with your hospital if you could not receive the surgery because the ICU was full of Covid patients? Surgeries stop when the ICU is full and guess who is filling up all of those ICU beds. It is not Goldilocks. That exact scenario happened to me last week. Best of luck to you.

  6. Who should you believe? Folks posting on Facebook and on forums like this or your family doctor, whom you and yours have been going to for years. Me? I checked with my doctor, lakeside and my family doctor up here in Seattle. They both tressed the same thing, get your vaccine shots. So I got my first Pfizer shot last March, my second in April and a Moderna booster shot in late December. I had only a very small negative reaction from each of the shots and I feal great today. So, folks, check with your trusted doctors, not Facebook. Please, if it is possible and safe for you, get your Vaccine shots ASAP See you all lakeside next week

  7. I can see that you will never be convinced that these injections are not for everyone.....I hope no one ever forces medicine on you that you don't want, yet that is what you want for others.....

  8. Okay. Now that my head is clearer. This is what I was attempting to say. If the OP is a permanente, he can't bring a car across the border UNLESS it is has been legally imported. So the whole concept of the car being in the country illegally AS a chocolate is not possible and, therefore, any amnesty for chocolate vehicles will never be applicable to him. Period.

  9. Let me explain again. We are vaccinated for ourselves as well as for our community. Unvaxxed have a higher viral load than vaxxed persons. If someone is exposed to an unvaxxed person with Covid, they are more likely to contract Covid and receive more and stronger virus in the process. Not getting vaccinated may be a personal choice, but it is a very selfish and irresponsible one IMHO.

  11. Follow-up! In Sept. of 2021, whilst chewing on some Triscuits, one of the crowns broke in half. In examining it it appears to have been created with a very shallow hole, not sitting all the way down on the 'shoulder' of the post. It was also, mostly due to the position and angle of the post, off-center, leaving the majority of the crown floating off of the front of the post. I suspect this left it structurally unsound for the pressures created by the human jaw when biting down on food. I'm quite certain I could get it redone for either a discount or possibly free, but I'm beginning to suspect that there is a correlation between dentists who have CNC-milling tech and dentists who focus on cost-cutting and/or expansion. This is my unscientific opinion. But it's my fault for not insisting on a better fit. I stopped going to chain dentistry outfits back in the States a long time ago, mainly because they are little more than training school for recent graduates. It's probably time for me to invest in higher quality and integrity in Mexico as well...

  14. I've never had a flu vaccine, either. Do you not understand the difference between influenza and Covid? Covid is far more contagious, far more deadly, and as far as I'm aware, no one suffers from "long influenza".

  15. I find the term antivaxer as bad as those who use the term Vaxhole, to describe people who are always asking about the next booster and comparing what shots or combination people have. When in comes down to name calling we've struck bottom.

  16. Well I was never vaccinated for the flu. I had it once when I was young and that was it. So I guess I am putting you at risk to a stronger flu reaction ?

  17. Depends what your preference is. Mine runs to good single malt scotch. Really expensive here- my treat to myself from duty free when I fly back from Canada.

  18. And it is the reason that public health authorities can take certain actions; like quarentines, closures, and even some 'mandates'. It is for the "public good".

  19. Not quite correct. If it is importable they can go through the expensive importing process and end up with a Mexico legal car they then have to get plates for in whatever state they live in. What a permanente can't do is get a TIP and drive a U.S. plated vehicle in Mexico. It has to be formally imported and plated here or no dice. I can't envision any 20 year old car being worth the amazing expense and hassle.

  20. If the OP is permanente, the OP cannot bring in a foreign car no matter if it's made of chocolate or not. That news is only for citizens or native born Mexicans.

  23. Actually, Paraguay is a very nice country. Visited it back in 1984. They have a beautiful water fall that spans over 3 countries. If I was younger, I would move there in a heart beat (and get way way away from gringolandia 😊).

  25. I can guarantee that if the internet had existed back when they came up with a vaccine for smallpox and polio, there would have been people spreading misinformation about those vaccines, and other people believing the misinformation and having "no confidence" in them. We'd still have people dying of smallpox and ending up in wheelchairs for the rest of their lives due to polio because they made a "personal choice" not to get vaccinated or had contact with someone who made that choice. How one deals with a highly contagious and deadly disease isn't a matter of handling one's own health.

  26. And eating fast food and putting garbage in their bodies affects other people HOW?
    1 point
  27. Well. This term "anti-vaxers" in really ridiculous. People are not against all vaccines. It is just that there is no confidence in these injections and I don't understand why anyone should criticize those who chose another way to handle their health. It is all personal choice. Some probably do well with those injections and some do not. There is NOT one size fits all medication or treatment method for everyone. We are not machines to be fixed with standardized equipment.

  29. The Pandemic's Wrongest Man You could spend days reading posts of anti vaxxers here on Chapala.com who throw out all kinds of nonsense. One consistent theme in these posts is that these posters completely ignore the fatality rate statistics of the Vaxxed vs Non-vaxxed. Dead people in body bags, got it? That is the bottom line, not the infection rate. Numbers do not lie.

  30. And how many healthy young athletes are having heart problems? FIFA reports five times the normal, all jabbed. You can stick these fear peddling anecdotes up all day but that doesn't change these facts: Pfizer has admitted the first two jabs have basically dissipated. Reports from England, Israel and other places indicates the third largely dissipates after 6 months. A number of health agencies in Europe warning against fourth and subsequent jabs. This "vaccine" provides little protection against Omicron. It is claimed but not really proven by statistically sufficient, peer reviewed studies that the jabs make covid less severe. Still, even if true CDC admits those jabees dying from Omicron all had at least one co morbidity, and the majority had four or more. The overwhelming statistical proof of whom dies from covid are they are old and have comorbidities. Young people are far more likely to die from a shooting death or accident than covid. The wheels continue to come off the narrative: 15 days to flatten the curve-NOPE Lockdowns will flatten the curve-NOPE, just delayed things and caused many deaths from poverty, stress and untreated other illnesses. Get your two jabs and get back to normal life-NOPE, your jabs it turned out didn't last that long and were less and less effective against subsequent versions of covid. Just about any mask will work-NOPE, most hardly effective, double cloth only 50 percent effective, you gotta wear medical grade masks and too bad if you can't afford them. Vaccines are the only thing that works-NOPE, many countries around the world thousands of doctors and hundreds of thousands of patients, 118 peer reviewed studies have proven covid can be treated successfully if done so as soon as symptoms show up. Not to mention double digit 100 percent success rate using cheap, readily available stuff and proven protocols among my own family and circle of friends of all ages. One of the things I find most amazing here is the willingness of those here to continue to trust big pharma and bigger government in the face of this ongoing failure which finally even resulted in major governments, including the one NOB, basically throwing in the towel. There's like this total inability to follow the money and understand the implications of listening to people with gross conflict of interests telling you to keep getting jabbed and ignore everything else. Four jabs in a year and the jabees are still getting covid and believing only jabs will save them. Death rate of those 18-64 up forty percent, unprecedented levels of deaths after jabs reported to VAERS, European health agencies warning against continued jabbing and still there is no questioning among the true believers. Amazing, simply amazing.

  34. And what about greedy businesses that only care about the all mighty peso or dollar. Such as MC's gym, which allows workouts by completely unvaccinated people - as long as your dues are up to date. There should be a way of reporting businesses like that.
