  3. Last week I had an appointment for a CT scan prescribed by my doctor at Quality Care. I went to Hospital San Antonio right next door. I’d had other tests done here. From past experience I thought the cost for this one would be less than the $6000 pesos I took with me for this appointment. When I was told the cost was $10,000 pesos I said I didn’t have that much but could come back later to pay the balance. I was told I’d have to pay in full before the test could be done. I went over to QC to tell this to the very efficient Lety at the front desk. If I didn’t have the test results I’d have to cancel my scheduled appointment with my doctor. She was shocked at the cost. She called my doctor. He said for me to go to Ribera Medical Clinic for the test; he’d speak to the Radiology Department later. At Ribera Hospital the procedure went smoothly. Blood test: 174 pesos. Tomography with contrast: $4131 pesos. The fact is, if I’d had the $10,000 pesos with me that day I’d have paid it, thinking it was high, but that’s how it goes, prices go up. (Good that I didn’t have 10,000 pesos with me.) Update: I don’t know if my doctor at QC spoke with the radiology department. I doubt it. How did this happen and who cares? Good question. Lexy

  4. I ordered some photo quality paper to try in my printer, but my printer is not high end, we'll see. I think the print shop next to Cafe Negro can do it for you

  5. Wow. My last CT scan with contrast was not nearly 10,000. I don’t have the receipt in front of me but glad you went to Ribera.

  6. Here are the websites to make an appointment for the test for AUTOMOVILISTA NUEVA and get your docs. You need to make payment beforehand, and can do it at a bank…there’s a clave number that is printed on the wall of the motor vehicle place, along with the requirement and fee. You can also complete this form, which will generate the payment form you print and take to the bank. Adults 60+ with CURP and INAPAM get 50% discount. It is 50% discount of $792 (I believe 2022 is the same cost as 2021.) https://gobiernoenlinea1.jalisco.gob.mx/multiTramites/licencias Here is where you print your CURP (if you don’t have the newer 8 1/2 x 11 full-page format, which went into effect in Jan of 2020.) https://www.gob.mx/curp/ This is the website with the requirements; take original and photocopy of each of these: CURP, proof of address, payment receipt, blood type, official photo ID, permanente/temporal/INE. https://tramites.jalisco.gob.mx/tramite/8778 Once you fill out the page from the citas link below, it should open to the calendar so you can select your appointment date and time. The location is the small street just north of the Chapala yacht club, east of the malecón and where the Feria Maestros de Arte was held for several years. Go to that door, look to your left and there is a small street. The motor vehicles place is about 100 feet northwest; there is parking to the right. https://cias.jalisco.gob.mx/transporte/client/newAppointment?eiid=103&lid=13

  7. In my case, it definitely isn't psychological, like I'm "focusing" on it- it really does physically intensify pain. I have had pain that is actually quite mild, nothing that's really bothering me at all nor that I am thinking about, I've basically forgotten all about it, but pot will suddenly make it hurt again.

  8. It's amazing that such an innocuous post can bring the Left Wing loonies and Socialist whackos out of the woodwork trying to tell others how to live thier lives!!! I know there is a regulation on this board regarding not using personal insults against others, however mods, please do not take any action here since I am sure that he/she knows not what they are saying. My property take a quarter of a whole block and includes a large living space, separate office and a couple of bodegas that are used as warehouses plus a football field size lawn fronting the lake. I am a lifelong businessman, first in California for years and now here for 14 years exporting Mexican home décor, arts and crafts and more to the US and worldwide. Both there and here I have always hired bilingual Latinos at good wages and conditions. Here the office has a great ambience of the grass, trees, shrubs, plants and flowers that of course benefit greatly from the watering regimen. I have hired many students from the Chapala Tech College and the last 2 have gone on to great positions at IBM in Guadalajara. Sometimes potential clients or vendors will visit and of course go away with a very positive opinion of us and how I operate my business. Oregontochapala, If you are reading this, and I am sure are, probably by candlelight (by the way, electricity, powered by coal and oil saved the whales), maybe you should consider the whole picture before spouting off here. I pay wages, taxes, create jobs and hopefully improve others' lives and also make them better and brighter with our wonderful products from here. ¡¡¡Viva Capitalism, Free Enterprise and FREE CHOICE!!!

  9. Aside from your objection of pumping from the lake and going across the Federal Zone, Virgo Lady gave you the best solution; a pump direct to your sprinkler system. You can purchase a sprinkler or irrigation pump from Amazon or Home Depot. You could then pump from a cistern or tinaco or even choose to dig a shallow well (easily done close to the lake). My preference is for an adjustable gun type sprinkler. I used these on my farm. The advantage is moving only one sprinkler (in your case) or you could opt for a series of smaller sprinklers. You could even install below surface lines and pop up sprinklers. This is also aside from the maintenance of a lawn, which I personally find wasteful. Planting trees, alfalfa and various herbs and placing raised vegetable garden beds is a much more economically reasonable use of space and water. Besides that you could feed your friends and neighbors. Small gun here;

  10. "regular" grid-tied systems work to match the CFE grid power and reduce or eliminate net use from CFE, however they won't produce during power outages or if the voltage or frequency go outside the range they are designed to operate in. Offgrid and newer hybrid systems will function and / or take over automatically in an outage from CFE, and these are becoming more accessible with a wider range of choices both in inverter and battery / energy storage technology. PM for solar: Beyond panel cleaning, every couple of years it is a good idea to have either a system check or a full PM service, to check the structural support condition and roof connections, the panel condition, individual output and (if applicable) string output, the clamps and junction boxes, the electrical connections, wire ties, and if there is a central inverter vs micro-inverters, to open, clean, test and check the internal wiring and connections in the inverter. It is inexpensive and can sometimes find things that may then be covered under the warranty..... which should improve performance and likely offset the cost of the service visit too.....
