  1. To update the smoking question, it's two young guys who are trying desperately to make a go of it. Immediately upon reading the smoking policy concerns, they responded to this webboard in a mature, positive, and professional way. We went back Friday evening: there is a prominent NO SMOKING sign, they are going to create a two-table area in the open area behind the restaurant's swinging saloon doors for patrons who want to smoke. They have been THE most responsive restaurateurs I've seen pretty much anywhere. And, as the topic says, these are DAMN GOOD BURGERS. Please give them a try: have some complementary popcorn as you wait for your meal to be prepared to order, sit and chat with them in their perfect US-accented English, learn who they are and what they are trying to accomplish, then enjoy a DAMN GOOD BURGER. Thank you, Beto and keep up the good work.

  2. Yes, I'm aware of that. But even if the restaurant turns a blind eye to it, I don't smoke out of respect to other diners. I step away to smoke even at a private party at someone's home, even outside, if there are non-smokers who it bothers.

  3. Counter steering causes the bike to lean. Pedro most assuredly does know how to countersteer. As noted, at very low speed you don't countersteer to turn as you can see from those pictures. At higher speeds if you are going to turn you have to countersteer, it is not optional. I never noticed at what speed I shift from turning to countersteering but 10-12 mph sounds about right.

  4. Many riders do not wear helmets, I partially blame transito for NOT enforcing that law, I passed by the body of the rider across from the pemex condolences to that family. Families of riders standup make your family member ride at least with a helmet and trasito shame on you⚠️⚠️

  5. "Membership in this group is allowed with **careful vetting**. To apply you MUST have an actual FB profile page, thoroughly read and answer ALL the questions and SUB QUESTIONS to join this group." - Isn't this a little overboard?

  6. He's far from alone in questioning the safety of the jab. And on October 21 Sweden suspended use of the Moderna vac in younger people. Some of you would benefit from a little research on how much money your "news" sources take from Pfizer et. al. jabbers.

  9. Maybe they didn't check, but the requirement starting Nov 8th for non-US citizens is to show proof of vaccination. See https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/traveladvisories/ea/requirements-for-air-travelers-to-the-us.html : Effective November 8, 2021, all non-immigrant, non-citizen air travelers to the United States will be required to be fully vaccinated and to provide proof of vaccination status prior to boarding an airplane to the United States. For land border access requirement, see https://www.dhs.gov/news/2021/10/29/frequently-asked-questions-guidance-travelers-enter-us : ...non-citizen travelers will be permitted to enter the U.S. through a land border or ferry terminal for a non-essential reason (i.e., tourism), provided they are fully vaccinated and can present proof of COVID-19 vaccination status.

  11. Thank you Beto and let's don't turn this into another smoking thread. Will definitely give this place a try AFTER San Andreas.

  12. Than why did Pedro say I am not a safe rider? I rode for 30 years and never went down. I was trained at a motorcycle driving school. Defending drum brakes?

  13. What Is Countersteering? ... Simply, countersteering is pressing FORWARD on the handlebar in the direction you want to go above roughly 12mph. If you want to go right, press forward on the right handlebar to go right. We press on the handlebar to cause the motorcycle to lean in the direction we want to go. Is counter steering Safe? While it takes practice to get right, the benefits of counter-steering are massive. When done correctly, it results in smoother, safer, faster riding. Many riders use counter-steering without realizing it, but they may not be doing so correctly. Pedro you could have spent five seconds reading about countersteering and admit you don't know how to countersteer.

  16. Saw this and chuckled. Good way to stir the mind when you hear something rustling nearby then wonder if it's a loose tiger. http://theguadalajarareporter.net/index.php/news/news/regional/57473-loose-tiger-stuns-motorists

  17. Thanks for the info, Tim. I've actually always leant towards the natural immunity to things- I never got my kids vaxed for measles, chicken pox, etc. I know kids die from those diseases in countries with poor sanitation, and the odd one might die in a first world country, but it's not at all a huge risk living where I was, in Canada. So mine all got chicken pox and measles, just like I did when I was a kid, and they were sick for a few days or a week, and now have natural immunity. But if there had been another polio epidemic, I definitely would have gotten them vaccinated for that. There's just some things that aren't worth risking and Covid is certainly one of them for me. I'm 72, have never gotten a flu shot, and haven't had the flu in 25 years. But I definitely got vaxed for Covid.

  18. I think that most people here know that and are talking about designated OUTDOOR smoking areas. And yes, this has been covered ad nauseum here over many years. Simple solution: call the restaurant ahead of time to check thier smoking policy. As a non smoker myself and a somewhat healthy guy I could care less. However, I think that mostly FREE CHOICE enters the equation: the restaurant proprietor has the choice to have a designated outdoor smoking area and you have a choice of entering the establishment or not!!!

  19. If the police here would enforce the traffic laws with motorcycles and scooters it would save lives, but there is no personal profit in citing poor scooter riders so too many of them get killed.

  20. I always get surprised when I am passed on the inside, and sadly most do not wear helmets, but I guess it's a step on the ladder to getting 4 wheel s

  21. As I posted earlier, the Canadian Government is recognizing natural immunity as far as entry goes. There are many studies showing natural immunity (recovery from infection) to be at least equal to that conferred by vaccination.

  22. Why is natural immunity never taken in to consideration ? (when discuss mandates).

  23. Actually it is much safer to use countersteering than to lean. Look it up. I learned it at motorcycle riding school. Leaning is much much slower way to steer.
