  1. It is the tri-strain. We were also given a pneumonia booster shot and was offered a tetanus booster but declined that. Now that I know the place doesn't exist, I probably won't return....even the doctors that I've known at that location probably weren't the real one's either. I guess that I was mostly lost!

  2. Of course you are almost right...the building still says Segura Popular as does my Government booklet that records our shots and they have Bomberos and equipment at the same building .....but if it said Carne and gave shots I still would pass along the info.

  4. It's estimated that window strikes kill between 97 million and 957 million a year. Cats kill over 500 million a year. Wind mills kill over 33,000. Maybe to save the birds you should take the windows out of your house and get dogs to take care of the cats. https://www.sibleyguides.com/conservation/causes-of-bird-mortality/

  6. Electric companies have been moving to wind and solar for one main reason: Subsidies. Otherwise it is not cheaper. Wind turbines kill hundreds of thousands of birds every year and if you live anywhere close to a turbine the noise and vibrations make your life hell. The cost of making solar cells is very high, it uses a bunch of carbon fuel to do and is not yet cost effective unless subsidized. You cannot decide to implement such transformation by an arbitrary date when the technology is not yet there. Instead of vilifying coal. oil and gas people should be so thankful for the billions of people those fuels have lifted out of stone age existence.

  7. Oh, and the oil and gas industries and the coal mining companies don't have a vested interest in making sure that we believe it's a fraud? The U.S. could be leading the world in renewable energy and providing jobs for those that have lost theirs in the rapidly declining coal mines but I guess it's better to just keep giving the billionaire owners tax breaks so they can help fund their favorite politician.

  11. You make a good point, Gringohombre. Being a moderator is hard. Because one can make an innocent comment, that can be read several ways by others. Let us all try to keep our comments non political, if that is possible which I think is near impossible to do. by MOD5 😀

  14. I look at the XE first as a starting point for negotiating with my account exec at Intercam. I know exactly what I am doing before I shoot the puck thanks. 16.75 now @ 4:35 and I will only do something manana if the rate stays over 16.70.

  15. IMO best move would be to wait until you're sure they're here and can perform.

  16. You bury a cat six cable (internet cable) from your house to the other house. Put an access point at the other house and plug your end of the cable into the starlink box assuming it has more than one internet jack on back. If it doesn't you have to add a hub to your house to split the signal. Even if you don't understand my blah blah my point is its very doable and lowers monthly cost to 60 USD or so for each house.

  17. I've been on this route several times. There are three fascinating towns along the way: Mascota, Talpa de Allende, and San Sebastian del Oeste. I've done postings on my photojournal blog on all three places that you might find interesting if you are looking for places to stop. https://cookjmex.blogspot.com/2020/05/mascota-part-1-historic-town-in-heart.html https://cookjmex.blogspot.com/2020/12/talpa-de-allende-part-1-city-of-pilgrims.html https://cookjmex.blogspot.com/2020/07/san-sebastian-del-oeste-part-1-colonial.html Please note that each of these is a multi-part series. There is a LOT to see in each place and they are each very different from the other. If you have time, you might even think about stopping overnight. There is a great hotel in Mascota that I show in the blog.

  19. Wrong again. Not referred to as global warming because ignorant people don't understand that doesn't mean the planet is just getting steadily hotter everywhere, as you just proved. It's a process that can make it hotter in some places and colder in others, but yes, the planet is in general warming. As evidenced by receding glaciers, melting ice caps and huge icebergs.

  21. You are right, Bob Howe was a big part of getting the benches on the malecon repaired and painted. I meant no disrespect to my friend! The bridges were rebuilt after many years of neglect, by the Garden Guild. I DONT GET INVOLVED IN SCAMS! I have been engaged in public service projects in Ajijic for many years which is well known! The 8k pesos is the price for sand paper, stain and marine varnish.

  22. Gotta love the "windmills kill birds" excuse from the right wing. Meantime how many of them have cats? "Oh, but we never let the cat out of the house". I see. How about the animals that get killed to make your cat's food? Don't care about them?
