  1. You left out being magnetized, and how about those tracking chips. I find both sides of this issue have made some false claims, but only one side has made crazy ones!

  2. Good references, Ferret, but apparently not as entertaining as one of the conspiracy theories...where the evil govt. is inserting a sort of "obedience drug" to the citizens under the guise of a life saving vaccine. ...might as well save your energy, gal.😏

  3. Overpaying people is a stupid idea and you end up with problems in the long run. Pay people the going rate and if you want to help them with their kids schooling or other needs to it but do not include it in the regular wages. Lakeside I have zero problems paying people the going rate and will never overpay and never will feel guilty about that. You are the one with the gringo complex by overpaying.

  4. Twice in the past 5 months my wife and I have stayed over night at the Hampton Inn by Hilton Aeropuerto GDL. VERY CLEAN, quiet, 24 hr front desk, bottled water and a nice hot breakfast in the morning. They also offer courtesy airport shuttle from 4:30am to 23:30. Excellent rates found on Hotels.com. Our last stay there was about a month ago on a late night arrival into GDL around midnight. Taxi ride to the hotel was about $150 MX and takes about 10-12 mins. Highly recommend. This is a nice, NOB style hotel and front staff speaks some english.

  7. Come on folks. If we would just all get vaccinated with a decent vaccine this problem would all go away. And we could find some other topic to act or react about. This is a very serious matter and we are loosing many loved ones. I say again just get vaccinated and wear your mask where required.

  8. There will be interviews at the Chapala 7/11 this friday starting at 11 a.m. That is all the information I was given so please don't ask for details. Remember this is Mexico!

  9. Maybe you are thinking of Oxxos. The only 7-11 I recall is at the entrance to the boulevard on Madero as you come into Chapala. With a big parking lot with room for lineups.

  13. This is my last post in this thread since trying to explain things to some people is the equivalent of banging your head against a brick wall. There are MANY vaccines being distributed worldwide that are NOT mRNA... article from NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC and reprinted on msn. Here’s the latest on COVID-19 vaccines (msn.com)

  15. You can TRY at the Instituto Technologia on the Libramiento today and tomorrow. If you ask at the gate which is the FIRST right when driving up to the parking lot, they may open the gate and let you drive all the way up rather than wait in line because of your age. They are giving Sinovac today and tomorrow. But, anything is better than nothing.

  19. Valerie's sister is a Notary Public. She can notarize documents. The OP's friend doesn't need a document notarized. They need a document apostilled. Having used apostilled documents for transactions in multiple countries that signed the Hague Apostille Convention I am aware of exactly what they are and how to obtain them. If that makes me a "no you can't expert" I'm guilty. An Apostille is simply the name for a specialized certificate, issued by the Secretary of State. The Apostille is attached to your original document to verify it is legitimate and authentic so it will be accepted in one of the other countries who are members of the Hague Apostille Convention. In the United States, all 50 states and the Federal Government (US Department of State – Office of Authentication) can issue an Apostille.

  20. I want to make a point that often when drivers stop to allow a pedestrian to cross the Carretera they may create a dangerous situation. I know that people mean well but they have no control over the traffic coming from the other direction, nor a possible crazy driver deciding to pass on left or even right. From my perspective, riding a mobility scooter, where I cross at a crossroad I must beware of traffic from 4 directions and be cautious of how I approach the slope onto cobblestones to avert tipping over. My reason for posting this today is an occurrence fresh from this morning. A driver to my left stopped for me to cross with a line of cars behind him and a large amount of traffic streaming from the right. I waved him on but he did not budge. I tried again but the response was to lower his window and put his hand out to try stopping the oncoming traffic. A this point I was shaking my head - no - and waving furiously for him to move on. Still he stubbornly remained. I finally convinced him of my seriousness by backing up and heading off down the bicycle path. The moral of this story is, that although it is a kindly action to stop for pedestrians, bear in mind that you have no control over the actions of other drivers and you could create a dangerous situation by stopping; especially if the pedestrian feels obliged to your kindness or garners a false sense of security and steps into moving traffic. Mind you I have been assisted to cross by some bus drivers who pull across the road blocking all traffic but that is a different story.

  21. That is the explanation given for the ORIGIN of Delta in India. Did you not understand that? Has nothing to do with anyplace else now that Delta has spread. Breaking news: https://www.cnbc.com/2021/07/27/cdc-to-reverse-indoor-mask-policy-to-recommend-them-for-fully-vaccinated-people-in-covid-hot-spots.html Hmm, sounds like they're worried the vaccinated folks will give it to others. Pfizer only 39% effective against Delta?

  22. Ivermectin has been used in India in a very limited way just as vaccination has because they don't have near enough for all those people. To blame Ivermectin for Delta is pretty ignorant. Go research the literature, you will find that view is not supported much. Ivormectin is not a cure as has been explained all over the place but rather ameliorates the symptoms by interfering with the damage the virus does, not the virus itself. The Delta strain is a natural evolution that MAY have been accelerated by widespread vaccination. Key word is "may." The literature says it is the result of huge super spreader events in India. People are so jammed together in that country it is a miracle they haven't have a real pandemic there that would kill 25 percent or more. As has been noted in the literature, Flu viruses evolve naturally and quickly which is why there are new flu vaccines every year. We get flu shots every year. When the currently in process non mRNA vaccines are tested and made available for covid, we will get them. Despite the efforts of the true believers to denigrate the growing number of voices, including the originator of mRNA that question the safety of these still experimental "vaccines" every day we are see more evidence that "haste makes waste." The personal insulting here just illustrates how weak some of your arguments are. Not that long ago most of you were parroting the CDC party line about Ivermectin, Hydroxy, and the origin of covid. Lot of egg on your faces, go look in the mirror. Both have been proven in actual use by real doctors, not bureaucrats or ideologues. Bottom line for us is covid is treatable, it has been done successfully in our immediate family, thousands of practicing physicians have treated it successfully, and, guess what, off label uses of pharmas are common and have often led to great cures or improved treatment outcomes. And another fiction is the young are vulnerable to covid. They are far more likely to be victims of child trafficking than they are of covid. Stop chanting slogans like a bunch of religious fundamentalists, develop a little skepticism and start researching what is going on in places where it can be reported without media censorship and distortion.

  24. I stay at a Hilton property when I have a very early morning flight. Hampton Inn by Hilton - Guadalajara Aeropuerto. About 15 minutes from th airport towards Guadalajara, and there is a Chili's next door. It's my preference. While I wouldn't consider it "upscale," it isn't a budget Inn by any means. I think it has a brakfast with the room, but I always leave too early to eat it. I will say that the coffee packets they give you for that little coffeemaker is NASTY ! I travel with my own coffee. The hotel is clean and comfortable, typical amenities, great beds, airport shuttle, breakfast.

  25. I am a fish and chips aficionado, having spent some time in England. My go to place here for many years is Lake Taco, next to the car wash just behind the gas station on the libremento just up from the Laguna Mall. I always go for the Mahi Mahi and ask for "extra crispy" chips. The outside coating of the fish is also very crispy and the fish is cooked to perfection and a little juicy inside. Not quite the "real thing", being North Atlantic cod, but almost there.

  29. Why expect to find everything you need in Ajijic. Chapala is the "downtown" area and also the local source of more types of businesses than those offered in Ajijic. Beyond that, you may have to search in Guadalajara for some things. Besides, you will often pay up to 0% more for some things in Ajijic. Guess why!

I guess it's a Mexican/Jalisco government to resolve, not my monkey, I just follow the laws of the country and have no guilt complexity

  37. Pedro. If your wife is insulted, please ask here to accept my apology. I'm sure she wishes you were banned, yet again, stay away from your poison spewing keyboard. My wife is the same way,but more something about " fighting in your own weight class" Still, you should be the one embarassed, that she thought you were incapable of defending them from a bald, chemo emaciated, and dying victim of cancer. That is the core of my "beef". Plus you very wrongly implied that the son WAS a babykiller and coward. Jim was very generous to his son and his son 's family. He left them a beautifully restored 1960's car, and got them enrolled into a program which builds housing for handicapped veterans. They got a new house. His ex wife got nothing, that is the way with some men. Ask Angus.
