  1. If you haven't gotten your first jab, go right now to the Instituto Tecnológico. Short lines, lots of chairs, English speakers, VERY organized. Bring a copy of vaccine registration, CRUP, and IMN card front and back. Also proof of residency - we are renters and used a TelMex bill in our landlord's name. Open until 4 pm. It took us about an hour start to finish. Very impressive.

  3. Of the handful of active members of this board, none apparently have pockets deep enough to want to be the guinea pig. Myself included.

  4. I joined the line at 9:10 and was all done and out the door at 11:40 at the Instituto on the Libramiento. Auditorium was nice and cool. SO organized, SO efficient and a huge improvement over the first time that I tried to get the vaccine at Parque Christiania. GO!

  6. I measured various garrafones of water, and e-pura had lowest Total Disolver Sólids(TDS) of any. I use condensate from dehumidifier & mini splits. Ofcourse rain water is perfect.

  12. In the local restaurant scene, many are called but far fewer are chosen. Remember restaurant "4"? This is not a great market area for pricey restaurants IMO. I wish them all the best. No, I'm not planning on spending $100+ for two to eat out around here any time soon.

  13. That place reminds me of the old "Hole In the Wall" in Ajijic. Lucky you!

  14. As with any new enterprise I wish them luck. Serving a tasting menu at 1 pm and the price they have advertised probably will not fit the marketplace lakeside. I would doubt that much market research was done.

  15. I think I will stick to Mi Abuelas...My Mexican Grandma's place about 2 blocks from my house here in lower SAT. Full lunch with rice and beans...50 pesos and the menu is on the wall!!!

  16. I buy mine in the Pharmacy section of large Supermarkets. Have to ask where it is, as they tend to "hide" it. About 22 pesos a gallon.

  17. Can’t comment on what happens in CDMX because I never go there. I have never seen anything official about GDL. The only thing I’ve ever seen is expats posting here trying to justify their point of view..and its been the same six expats complaining for the last 11 years...

  19. You either “got” him or you didn’t. I got him — and his food. He was (and probably still is) a real character. I will never forget his hand printed signs all over the women’s bathroom. Some people were very insulted by them. They cracked me up. Every time he had to clean up an overflow because some dumbass thought she was special and could flush her toilet paper there’d be another sign. They started off politely asking and each one grew increasingly angry and profane.
