  1. Try and keep up Andy. Some people just don't feel the need to explain themselves more than once. Considering that you posted in the thread in which her comment was made, the onus is on you for not remembering the content. I prefer to make my decisions in life based on my own opinions and research. However, everyone else is also entitled to do the same. Stop badgering other people's opinions. It makes you look pathetic.

  2. Thread after thread is filled with your endless attacking of other posters and their opinions or information. You post nothing of value or interest, just troll-like behavior. Are you really so desperate for constant attention?

  3. Can't handle virgo lady? So sad. Add mysogynistic to your long list of issues, apparently.

  4. I counted 14 posts from Andy Panda on this thread alone, none of which contain any information or anything of value, not even a humorous comment, but are all attacks on the posts of others. Then there are 36 posts by others, 14 of which are trying to get Andy to STFU if he/she has nothing to contribute. So there are 50 posts in this thread in total, before this one, 28 of which have nothing to do with anything but the troll.

  5. You are talking about yourself and don't have a clue you are doing exactly what you accuse others of doing but they are not - only you are. Psychological projection of your behaviour onto others not behaving this way at all. Many reading your posts see this clearly but you don't. Funny.

  7. Okay, you have some cred. Excellent. But NYT has a lot more cred than you, and the Associated Press has earned 54 Pulitzers, so I will not be taking your opinion on those kind of blanket hip shots.

  8. Believe the scientific posts out of the New England Journal of Medicine instead. Believe the scientific reports for the 10,000 patient Sinovac study performed in Turkey that reported 84% efficacy for the Sinovac. Why would anyone believe a Brazilian study of just "50% efficacy", that had just 88 vaccinated patients in the Treatment Group for calculating the vaccine % efficacy? ... Just because the NY Times & AP guys repeat it? Why would anyone believe a Brazilian study of just "50% efficacy", that had just 175 unvaccinated patients in the Control Group for calculating the vaccine % efficacy? ... Just because the NY Times & AP guys repeat it? Journalists don't know how to interpret, nor what to look for in scientific report. ... The NY Times & AP news staff have been slashed over the years, gutting their research & fact checking departments. Why believe me? I'm a Doctor of Public Health, with 44 yrs of professional experience, who was also a staff editor for 7 years of a BioMedical journal, reviewing & editing years of medical research reports. I've worked on successful Public Health clean-up programs at all of the USA's biggest DOD & DOE sites. I was a professional scientific expert witness for both the US Dept of Justice & the US DOE. I've worked on 2 big virus-transmission control studies of over $2 million for the US NIH & the Gates Foundation. I've personally managed over $37 million of very successful Public Health & Environmental Health programs.

  10. FWIW, while I gave up on beef burgers in MX since I got really sick in 2008, I still get them rare in US when visiting; never a problem there. I'm not anti-meat and I'm certainly not anti-MX. Just stating what happened to me. It took me quite awhile and treatments to get rid of the E.coli (had to have shots as I could no longer swallow water). I have been buying and happy with fresh ground pork (from whole pork cuts at El Torito) which I dress as either kimchi burgers or good old cheeseburgers with a lot of toppings. It doesn't bother me to eat the pork well-done. I am willing to experiment with plant-based, which may be a flash-in-the-pan, pun intended

  14. Oh, this is priceless. First, Andy blasts us because we don't fall in line with what he believes; only his opinion is valid. Then, when a truly qualified professional gives an opinion, BASED ON RESEARCH/MEDICAL TRIALS, etc, he grudgingly admits said professional has some "cred, " but a writer for a paper with a major agenda trumps all. Yeah, those Pulitzers really come in handy when treating patients. SMH. FWIW, please continue giving us facts, Snowco. While I stand by my decision not to have the vaccine at this point in time, there are those of us who truly do read and consider all sides. I don't take this stand lightly, but nothing I've seen so far has erased my just-as-valid choice.

  15. How does Sinovac's 83% efficacy, from a 10.000 patient study out of Turkey work for people here in Mexico? Realize, the supposed "50.38%" Efficacy report from Brazil is not valid. ... The Brazilian 'study' of Sinovac was so small that there were just 88 total vaccinated patients who were counted in the %Efficacy calculation and just 175 total unvaccinated (Control Group) patients with COVID for the Brazilian's %Efficacy report. When a study has just 88 patients in the Treatment Group (vaccinated patients wtih COVID), that is pitifully small, and the conclusions are not valid ... meaning the Brazilians supposed "50.38%" Sinovac efficacy should be ignored as too small a study to be meaningful. In contrast, the bigger 10,000 patient Turkish study showed Sinovac 83.5% efficacy, and Sinovac was 100% effective in stopping severe illness & hospitalization. ... and there were no significant side effects. https://www.reuters.com/article/health-coronavirus-turkey-sinovac-int-idUSKBN2AV18P Notice that 83.5% Sinovac efficacy is 10% smaller than Pfizer or Moderna, but it is 10% larger than Oxford AstraZenica, and 30% larger than JnJ.

  16. Lakeside , it may not be acceptable up north but reallly who cares we are not up north and the vaccine you went to take up north is putting more at risk to the South African variant and who knows what else.. We are all gunea pigs in this major experiement of human beings in search of a solution. Astrazeneca has been stopped in France except for people between 50 and 65.. My nephew whois 33 and got the first vaccine has just been told he will receive pfizer or Moderna as his second vaccine and was assured it was ok.. Not sure how they can say it is ok to mix vaccjnes when no one seems to know what is really going on.. Everyday we hear new theories and discover more weaknesses to the whole system. I will take the second vaccine of Sinovac when they come... and then will continue social distancing and wearing a mask.. and then we will see what happens.. I believe that at this point we are all guinea pigs including the Pfizer and Moderna receivers.. so Inch Allah

  17. It snowed last night... 8:00 am: I made a snowman. 8:10 - A feminist passed by and asked me why I didn't make a snow woman. 8:15 - So, I made a snow woman. 8:17 - My feminist neighbor complained about the snow woman's voluptuous chest saying it objectified snow women everywhere. 8:20 - The gay couple living nearby threw a hissy fit and moaned it could have been two snow men instead. 8:22 - The transgender man..women...person asked why I didn't just make one snow person with detachable parts. 8:25 - The vegans at the end of the lane complained about the carrot nose, as veggies are food and not to decorate snow figures with. 8:28 - I was being called a racist because the snow couple is white. 8:31 - The middle eastern gent across the road demanded the snow woman be covered up . 8:40 - The Police arrived saying someone had been offended. 8:42 - The feminist neighbor complained again that the broomstick of the snow woman needed to be removed because it depicted women in a domestic role. 8:43 - The council equality officer arrived and threatened me with eviction. 8:45 - TV news crew from CBC showed up. I was asked if I know the difference between snowmen and snow-women? I replied "Snowballs" and am now called a sexist. 9:00 - I was on the News as a suspected terrorist, racist, homophobe sensibility offender, bent on stirring up trouble during difficult weather. 9:10 - I was asked if I have any accomplices. My children were taken by social services. 9:29 - Far left protesters offended by everything marched down the street demanding for me to be arrested. By noon it all melted Moral: There is no moral to this story but, if it snows, make snowballs and throw them at everyone.

  18. It is not trash. 50% IS better than nothing by a long shot. It's not like I was offered a choice of vaccine types. For now, I am happy to have been offered something. And keep in mind this was not an established fact when the shots were being given out lakeside. And keep in mind EVERYONE who got a shot here got the Sinovac. 1,000s of people, expats and Mexicans. And happy to get it. And I'll be going back for my second, which all reports say goes WAY up in terms of efficacy. As far as I'm concerned, anyone refusing to take a shot when offered is adding to the problem.

  19. I always watch change and receipts, and haven't had problems for a while. BUT... last week 2 things overcharged ( 1 x 6, 1 x 1) at register. Went to service desk. Before, they used to make a bill deal of checking price on shelves. This time the "6 of" was checked via their computer at the desk, the other accepted without checking. Cash refunded. This week.... SAME ( 6 of) price one on shelf, price two at register. Service desk again. Not even a question..... simply asked "how many" and gave me the refund. In both cases, people behind were anxious so I could not hang back to watch the screen as items entered...... trying to bag as fast as I could instead SEPARATE: Both weeks was short-changed at the cash register (lots of coin each time). When I made an issue of counting change, cashier each time already had the missing 10 pesos in her fist, ready to return if questioned. Eyes and ears open out there!! Last week I "forgave".... gouging the visitors? This week.... fool me twice?......... NOT!!

  20. You can take the Sinovac now, and have some measure of protection. When something else you deem better comes along you can take it at that time. Waiting, on the off chance that a country might not accept any one brand of vaccine, just makes it harder for Mexico to approach heard immunity. France is now recommending a third dose of Pfizer & Moderna for people with "compromised" immune systems. So Will some people need to prove they have received 3 doses to enter France?? Doubtful Just get vaccinated now to protect us all.

  27. Too many substitutes for food and drink that are touted initially as being "better" for us contain ingredients that are not so good for us, so I have a question for anyone who happens to have access to a package of "Beyond Meat": What are the ingredients?

  30. Beyond Meat is the brand. Two vegetarian members of my family love them as well as the carnivores. Costco always has them, so suppose the local grocers that supply from Costco might have them. The several local restaurants that prioritize vegetarian/vegan fare is where I would start looking. mudgirl has promised not to "wise up" Wendy´s......😀

  36. If you would have read more carefully, you would have discovered many things that you "failed" to mention. (1)Those in the group were much younger than a normal sample, because the older people had been vaccinated much longer (2) Did not include anyone who had been vaccinated more than 21 days after the second dose (3) etc. Pfizer said that the protection after the first dose was not 95% and this study verifies that. This study says nothing about those vaccinated more than 21 days after the second dose. This simply confirms what Pfizer has said about the first dose. Nothing new here, so move along !

  37. The NY Times and AP are not scientific journals. The "50%" was not quoted from a Chinese Medican official, the "50%" value comes from a very small unreliable Brazilian study. Sadly, the NY Times & AP are unable to read & interpret scientific studies, unable to tell the difference between a good valid study versus a poor small study. The bigger 10,000 patient Turkish study showed Sinovac 83.5% efficacy, and Sinovac was 100% effective in stopping severe illness & hospitalization. ... and there were no significant side effects. https://www.reuters.com/article/health-coronavirus-turkey-sinovac-int-idUSKBN2AV18P In contrast, the small Brazilian study's "50.38%" Efficacy reported by NY Times & LA is not valid. ... The Brazilian 'study' of Sinovac was so small that there were just 88 total vaccinated patients who were counted in the %Efficacy calculation and just 175 total unvaccinated (Control Group) patients with COVID, used to calculate that "50%" value that the NY Times & AP keep repeating. Does anyone really trust a study that has just 88 patients in the Treatment Group (vaccinated patients)? Sadly even the NY Times & AP don't actually read the primary source material of their news reports, they just repeat things they read from other sources on science & medical issues. The NY Times & AP editors dropped the ball, badly on this one. For comparison: Notice that 83.5% Sinovac efficacy is 10% smaller than Pfizer or Moderna - which troubles the 1 regional Chinese official complaining**, but it is 10% larger than Oxford AstraZenica, and 30% larger than JnJ. **When we read the whole press release by the 1 regional Chinese official, we find he is complaining that China is not allowing the highest efficiency m-RNA vaccines, and he wants to combine those highest-efficiency vaccines with the Chinese vaccines in mixing different jabs of different vaccines.

  44. Well me, for one!!! I would rather be with the 50% of Brazilians it helped than the 0% it helped, of the people waiting for whatever. It´s like they overheard one Covid virus talking to another, and saying, "don´t stop here because they are waiting for a different vaccine". Bisbee Gal probably wouldn´t take Pfizer if it was produced in China just because it´s Chinese. Her denigration of the Chinese far outweighs her concern of the vaccines. China is there, they have their form of government, like it or not, and that is not going to change.

  45. Yes, I do. See my follow up. You belong to a very, very small group of people here. We can tell from your posts you are never going to be happy with anything. Like I said, by refusing a shot you are simply adding to the problem. Because you could have been vaccinated and most likely become safe to be around. But now you are not safe.
