The best dental care I have experienced. I went to Dr. Candy for a consultation (free) and she carefully detailed the work that I needed (a lot). I have made four trips from Oregon over the past year for the work. I have had a total of 11 implants, several crowns and two bridges and they fit and feel fantastic. Everyone in her office from front office staff to assistants were consistently friendly, informative and helpful. There was never a language or understanding barrier. My cost was about 20% of what the work would have cost in Oregon. She use implants made in Switzerland and are the second most used in the world, no shortcuts. I cannot recommend her more highly.

I mean visually because it already shines like a diamond in my house. For the entire month of February, so far, my daily production has been 7.5 kwh. Since my five panels (350 watt per panel) were installed in March of 2018, I have not paid a dime to CFE except for the 47 pesos per billing period management fee... i.e. to generate a paper bill. They're on my roof of course but, reading this article, I got a glimpse of the future when solar will be pretty...

People everywhere, unless money is no object, try to save where they can. Selling your own home, your car, doing comparison pricing to see who offers the best deal. That's totally different from trying to negotiate the price of someone's work or services. Before the pandemic, I rented a private room in my home on Airbnb. I've had many wonderful Mexican guests, from all over Mexico, not one of whom tried to negotiate the price of the room. In your attempt to act savvy about Mexican culture, you are generalizing in a quite discriminatory way.

The electrical store (not the hardware store) has moved to RIberas lake side. First 2 storey building going east after Mirasol. Illumina y Decora. The hardware store is further into RIberas mountain side although they have a material yard across the street

Yes. But don't hold your breath on anything happening too soon. They've started with high risk areas..... but it's been a total mess with people waiting in line for HOURS etc etc. Leave them to it for a while and hope they get a better system going by the time it's our turn!

Neat system, they've been showing this for quite awhile now. Not cheap.....and a bit complex.....my personal view is: 1 - better without the motors, controls, trackers, etc and expense thereof 2 - this would get abused on the ground..... and who'd want it on their roof....??? 3 - solar buildings with PV technology integrated right into the walls and windows (and roof) should be awesome...."invisible" and with a "solar building" wrap, many would produce enough to be net zero or better, too. Tesla STILL isn't there yet with his solar shingles, the concepts look good but while he can put satellites and global internet access in space, he apparently can't do a mass solar shingle roof yet. "Sigh"...... 🙂 However, we can now get a 2 kW system, today, at lakeside, from 4 panels and 1 micro-inverter, to produce about 10 kWh per day, and pay back in under 3 years for those on the DAC rate. So, ...there's that! 😉

If you have done due diligence and made arrangements to have your own funds for medical expenses before moving here you won't have to hit up everyone with GOFUNDME. . Some of us were astute enough to do this. Yes my expenses and my wife's have been quite large and because I did due diligence I don't have to hit on a whole bunch of strangers nor my family and friends for that matter nor pay HUGE PREMIUMS to insurers. Again, I am Canadian where med was covered for everyone by income taxes. I still pay those and get nothing in return but submit med expenses including even drugs,equipment and dentist,etc., to get Income tax reductions.

That is terrible Hysopp, you are a newcomer here and you pickup covid. It can take years to build up you soils. A beginners mistake is to pick too small or clay pots for seedlings. They can dry out within one day. Another mistake is planting too many varieties of seeds, especially if you are using low cost compost. It is full of weed seeds, they start growing and you get all mixed up. Even are very experienced gardener cannot always tell what is a flower, a weed, or a vegetable. You might have to hire a gardener to get started. Our gardener has been through covid recently, but I am not clear if that gives him immunity. He does not speak English however. He has all his own tools and a small truck.

I think you should have work done before giving a recommendation. No doubt she is as great s you think but I would not go to by a recommendation begore the work is done.

Another thumbs up for Turbotax. I've been using it for years and have never had a problem, despite some returns that were a bit complicated. They walk you through every step with simple, easy-to-understand questions and explanations. I filed our return early last week and it just hit our account today. Love it! I also recommend their audit defense (I think $49?) just for peace of mind. While our returns have become very simple (ah, retirement!), it's still nice to know that there's an extra layer of protection. BTW, we switched to TurboTax when we started a business and hired an accountant to do our taxes since it was so new to us. We paid an arm and a leg ,only to be told that we owed money when we should have received a refund. Found Turbotax and never looked back.

With today's technology you can deposit a check to a US bank by taking a photo with a cell phone on the bank's app. Years ago when that tech was not available and I was presented a peso check, I was forced to set up a Mexican bank account in order to claim the funds.

Andre Bellon, great guy, told me none of the local insurers will cover anyone who has had, or still has, heart problems. They do check with your doctors, you have to sign a form allowing them to do that. The way private health insurance is setup in this country is to begin young, and they carry you all the way through even if you do develop heart problems. People seeking coverage, while running the last few yards, are not covered or prohibitively expensive. That is changing as the Mexican population is living longer, but that is the mindset you are up against. Public or universal health insurance will cover you, but for some unknown reason, the current Presidente is choking the life out of them financially.

No, everything isn't negotiable and it's quite disrespectful to try to chisel someone down on what they charge for their work and expertise. It's one thing to barter with some middleman selling commercially made silver jewelry at inflated prices because tourists don't know any better, quite another not to respect what someone charges for their personal hard work and experience. If you can't afford someone's services, no one is forcing anyone else to employ them.

Julie and Wayne have a lot of followers, they advertise their sales (including lots of pictures) and get great turnouts. Their commission is less than most consignment shops, where items can sit and sit, for a very long time.

I agree with Maincoons. Can't beat Turbo Tax. While still working full time in U.S., going to college at night, and doing all the household "stuff," one year I decided to have someone do it for me. Didn't just go to a bookkeeper, but hired a CPA and paid big bucks to make sure it was done right. Six months later I received a substantial check in the mail from IRS because of a mistake the CPA had made! Been using Turbo Tax ever since and it's the only way to go!!!

Unless your taxes are really complicated, TurboTax is an absolute slam dunk when it comes to filing returns. I've used it for 10 years without error notices or additional tax demands. Takes me about two hours for the entire process and that includes organizing income data, filing it out and electronically filing. The software is never out of date, when you start it, it looks for updates and installs them quickly and seamlessly. I am not an accountant, however, this software actually revealed mistakes on a return I paid an accountant for which is one reason I switched. If you continue to use it, it downloads the last year's returns and then you just have to update, even faster. We have income from a pension, SS, Mexican investments and U.S. bank accounts. All are very easy to input into this software. I downloaded a copy directly onto my computer from a purchase on Amazon. It was very fast.

What is going to change with this new revelation ??? My day will probably be the same tomorrow with either the Official or the UNAM numbers are correct. And I suspect it will be the same for most people. There might be a few more people looking for a cave up in the Sierra.

There are just a couple of people who are real , licensed physiotherapists.. We go to Jorge Ulloa. I am impressed with him . Not cheap 750 pesos an hour but to us he is worth it. My nephew is a physiotherapist who has has own business and also travel with one of the Olympic team in France so I have seen him at work when I am over there and Jorge is the real thing. Not a massage guy or a chiropractor, not that they do not have their place as well but Jorge is a eal physiotherapist and is really helping my husband learnng how to walk again after back and hip surgery.

I wouldn't build a kidney shaped one. It is much easier to cut a solar blanket cut to fit one that is rectangular. You have to replace them every two years so don't make it too difficult.
