  1. Hola! To the original question from the OP: Do you feel house prices will come down or like in some area's of the US and Canada go though the roof? It is a complicated answer. First of all, I am the broker of a local real estate agency. In 2020, sales of residential properties, area wide, were down year over year compared to 2019 a total of 29%. However, prices have remained steady and in some cases rising. The average sales price in 2020 was $264,000 USD, about the same as 2019. Inventory was up around 10%. Clearly fewer potential buyers from the US and Canada flew down to look at houses for obvious reasons. The ones that did however, were very serious and arrived with money in hand ready to buy. Yes, the Tapatios and other Mexican nationals took over some of the market share as they were looking for refuge out of the major cities and also getting their money out of the banks as interest rates came down and due to overall mistrust in the federal government. The last 3-4 months have proven to be VERY busy and the near term outlook looks very strong and if the current demand persists, along with the potential of travel opening up later this year due to vaccines, people tired of waiting to travel, and the new group of 'location independent' professionals, I would expect that the demand will remain strong and prices will slowly rise. In our office, we've been blessed with record months in both December and this month, February and had a 24% increase in 2020 compared to 2019. Sales to Mexicans and foreigners already living in the area were drivers of our sales. We do not manage rentals so I do not have a pulse on the rental market but I understand from property managers that there has been less demand (less travelers) than normal.

  2. No I'm not! My perodontist here in Housotn took these screen shots of the implants that Dr. Candy placed. I'm done debating you. You're a moron.

  4. Not only diminishes the original meaning of the word, but the hyper-excessive use of "RACISM" in the last five years, has diminished all argumentation to zero. No other thoughts, no other insights, no other possibilities, no other creative solutions, no shades of meaning, no nuances, no nothing exists except the need for decapitation of mythical white supremacy. Americans were educated since the 1950s to open their minds, and keep them open. How quickly those minds have been slammed shut, only to be "re-educated" like a Khmer Rouge camp, just before the next stage, The Killing Fields. LOL.

  5. Domino's SARTEN crust only! Order online, they give you 30 minute guaranteed delivery and you can see their specials. Also you accumulate award points, earn a free pizza with them. PS, we hate Domino's in the US.

  6. Dominos is just fine. We have given up on anyplace else. Opinion on pizza quality, around here, seems to be right up there with political and religious discussions-eh!

  7. Following up on this, nothing from CFE shows any change from the bi-monthly schedule and I am also just reviewing a brand new 2 month bill from an Ajijic client. Reading date was Feb 2nd for 2 months. So all appears to continue as before.

  8. It isn't the browser you are using It is the exact moment you click on Confirmar CURP. At that moment if the connection to RENAPO overloaded it won't go through using either Chrome or Edge. PS for those of you who have updated Edge it is now using the open source Chrome programming as the operating system.

  12. Hi There, I'm not FAKE and this is NOT FAKE NEWS! I saw Dr. Candy Sept 2020 for the implants. Oct they were removed as they were placed outside the bone, and it infected my jaw. I no longer live in Ajijic, but I was there for about 2 yrs from 2010 to 2012.

  13. Where is the link? What I see is Google saying it is a CAT scan image with two possible matches. Are you too cheap to subscribe to their search to get the matches? What does TinEye say?

  14. I am replying to this only because you are now attacking my naivete...of which I have very little. Just because I don't agree with your uber-defense of the doctor doesn't mean I believe everything posted here or anywhere else; however, x-rays are very convincing while your chest beating defense is not. Did it occur to you that this woman, as a newbie, did a search on this website and wanted to use an old posting to show a different side? No? As for it being her second post, was she supposed to wait a few months, posting inane comments about the local nightlife, before posting about her bad experience? Maybe she wants to spare others from her experience. Who knows? I will repeat this one more time: I don't care WHY she posted; I'm grateful that she did and wish her nothing but the best.

  15. I recommend Daniel Jackson on 29-A Hidalgo, near corner of Juarez, in Ajijic. His number is 376-766-2223. He repaired a broken glass crystal in my watch and did an excellent job at reasonable price.

  17. A friend and I had lunch Saturday at the new Al Mergi. Located in the walk through at Plaza Bugambilias Ajijic. Had butter chicken my friend ordered Ginger chicken, spiced to our liking a #4 on a scale of 0 to 10. Was perfect, not overpowering. i30p and 140p respectively. The rice was tasty, not all sticky. Served in separate dishes so we could share. Nan included, neither my friend or I eat bread so we passed on the nan. Would recommend trying them out. Something a little different. The staff are friendly very accommodating to our taste buds. Will defiantly go back again

  18. Because I have a homeshare Airbnb, I usually have quite a bit of interaction with guests, although I take my cue from them. Some are more private, stay in their room when not out and about, and use my kitchen minimally, just to put some beers in the fridge or make some coffee. Some like to sit around and chat, cook a lot, and will invite me to partake, or we'll share a bottle of wine in the evening. I'm easy with both types. One thing they get that they won't by staying in a hotel is recommendations for little hole-in-the-wall restaurants and cafes and shops I love that aren't going to be listed in any tourist brochures or travel books. I've also invited the guests who enjoy interaction along to a beach day to out of the way beaches they'd never know about or be able to get to without a car. One guest from Prague was invited to dinner with me and 2 other friends, and she had such a good time that when she came back to town after a retreat she'd signed up for, she got back in contact, and suggested we all meet up for lunch, which we did.

  19. Senior Sex The husband leans over and asks his wife, "Do you remember the first time we had sex together over fifty years ago? We went behind the village tavern where you leaned against the back fence and I made love to you." Yes, she says, "I remember it well." OK, he says, "How about taking a stroll around there again and we can do it for old time's sake?" "Oh Jim, you old devil, that sounds like a crazy, but good idea!" A police officer sitting in the next booth heard their conversation and, having a chuckle to himself, he thinks to himself, I've got to see these two old-timers having sex against a fence. I'll just keep an eye on them so there's no trouble. So he follows them. The elderly couple walks haltingly along, leaning on each other for support aided by walking sticks. Finally, they get to the back of the tavern and make their way to the fence The old lady lifts her skirt and the old man drops his trousers. As she leans against the fence, the old man moves in.. Then suddenly they erupt into the most furious sex that the policeman has ever seen. This goes on for about ten minutes while both are making loud noises and moaning and screaming. Finally, they both collapse, panting on the ground. The policeman is amazed. He thinks he has learned something about life and old age that he didn't know. After about half an hour of lying on the ground recovering, the old couple struggle to their feet and put their clothes back on. The policeman, is still watching and thinks to himself, this is truly amazing, I've got to ask them what their secret is. So, as the couple passes, he says to them, "Excuse me, but that was something else. You must've had a fantastic sex life together. Is there some sort of secret to this?" Shaking, the old man is barely able to reply, "Fifty years ago that wasn't an electric fence." SHARE WITH YOUR FRIENDS, ROFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! smile emoticon Share to save on your timeline

  20. CAT LOVERS ALERT You are needed to give companionship to the cats at the Lakeside Friends of Animals Cat Shelter in Riberas. There are about 50 wonderful cats of all colors and personalities who need human interaction. You can just go in any of the 11 suites and sit with them, invite them on your lap, give them love, treats, or play time. They would all love a Forever Home, and the more interaction they have with people who love them, the more adoptable they will be. The cats are more active between 10 and 12, and tend to take naps in the afternoon. Please treat yourself and the cats to some time together. I think that you will find it a very rewarding experience.

  22. Hotels suck if you flew into another country with no car. Their locations are never near a very friendly convenient very cool neighborhood were you can feel part of the local scene after a couple of days. AirBnBs rock! Get with it people. It is not only about cost savings, having a kitchen, quiet place, washing machine etc. it is about knowing the staff at your favorite coffee house close by chatting you up and fillling you in on what's really happening there. One time we arrived in Madrid at 9 in the morning on a national holiday and our 7 night AirBnB apartment was in a "Bohemia" - neighborhood. She let us in around noon giving us the keys and left - we never heard from her again. We unpacked and walked outside and on the corner was a large group of 20 year olds smoking pot. They were there most evenings. My wife was shocked. I wasn't. It is not illegal to do in Spain since 2006. The place was a 5 minute walk to Madrid's famous avenue Gran Via, the center of Madrid El Centro, where hotels are $400.00 USDs per night.

  23. There’s a lady in town, certified translator, also has a concierge service, that is offering to complete the online application for you for a small fee of $100. I know several people that have used her services for this as well as other things and find her to be very efficient, honest and trustworthy. Just an FYI.

  27. What do mean by "the hassle of a deposit"? If you book a hotel room or an airline flight your credit card is charged when you book. Why would you expect booking an Airbnb to be any different? Or do you think the host should clean and prepare the space on the off chance that you might show up?

  28. It is not about supporting Dr. Candy, as I do, but about exposing FAKE NEWS and a fraud as I have here...where are you Gail C???

  29. No one will convince gringohombre that the sweet one shouldn’t be doing implants.. If you read his posts he is always supporting her despite the dozens of negative posts about her work.. Gail C wouldn’t be the first one to pursue legal action against her....

  31. I don't care how old this post is, obviously Gail wanted to relay a VERY HORRIBLE AND EXPENSIVE experience that she had. You seem so hell bent on defending this dentist simply because you've had good experiences; well, she hasn't. Doesn't it occur to you that she's trying to warn others of what happened to spare them the same potential disaster? You don't have to agree with her, but questioning her integrity/reason for posting is a bit, well, questionable. As for defamation, "truth is the best defense" works for me...not to mention those horrendous x-rays. Again, I'm so sorry you are experiencing so much pain and expense, Gail. No one should have to go through what you're going through. Thank you for sharing.

  35. Yes get a lawyer and good luck.. !5 years ago someone defrauded us and I had all the proof on e-mails, well, e.mails were not admissible in court in Chiapas in those days.. so I had no proof..Also the best advice I got out of the lawyer was if they lie you lie... .. Court is not a great place to go. to in Mexico if you want to retain your sanity..

  39. Or maybe someone will buy them and turn them into apartments... live in one and rent the rest. The Mexican real estate market is very interesting. Since you pay cash for a home, if you want to sell it you can play a very long waiting game if it's not an emergency (aka fire sale). No mortgage, no major utilities and very little paid in taxes... in other words, no big hurry at all.

  42. You are making my point precisely. If anyone can see RACIST in anything, it vastly diminishes the original meaning of the word, making it meaningless...does "crying wolf" still have meaning?
    1 point
  43. Some have posted that the name and/or term "gringohombre" is racist. Is that possibly true?
    1 point
  44. After all it is the CHINESE VIRUS. Now, if in fact it was surmised that it was brought by a Mexican or an American and someone made a comment about that, would this also be RACIST. This whole "movement" about making everything RACIST is in fact racist itself.
