  1. It is for BOTH. Proven. Fact.

  2. My intention with this post was to share some lighthearted things we’ve delighted in while living here and to hear some of the like from others. Nothing more. Still to this day, ANY foreign object on the floor looks like a scorpion even after said object has been identified 😎

  3. You have to be old to get it. Your mother used to tell you this often in that case.

  4. It is very hard to be a moderator and post. I leaned from trying it on the Oregonian paper years ago. It doesn't work. Pick one or the other but not both Mainecoon.

  6. We've been going to Al Meraj in GDL for a number of years. Their food is exceptional and their menu varied. We've ordered food from Magnolia in Chapala on three occasions and have zero to complain about except that their menu is very, very limited. "Al Meraj Grill & Pak Indian Cuisine" in GDL, on Juan Keplar (just in behind the very large Soriana Hiper Las Águilas) is, in our opinion, exceptional and the menu fairly extensive. From what we were told before our very first visit, prior to opening, the owner travelled to Vancouver, Canada, and received in-depth training in Indian cuisine. From that very first visit, now several years ago, we've come to believe that he'd been trained well. We also have to say that during every visit (we always park in the Soriana lot which is no more than 50 mtrs. from the restaurant), the restaurant (which is tiny, and not fancy) is always packed. We've eaten Indian food in a number of countries and we would put Al Meraj in the "very very good" category!

  8. Some good news from AstraZenaca. They have been approved for emergency use in the UK. The Carlos Slim Foundation has contracted with AZ to provide vaccine and have the vaccine packaged in Mexico and distributed in Latin America. The AZ vaccine only requires normal refrigeration, making it much more practical for many countries.

  9. That moto is standing still, as is the rearmost person; with feet firmly on the ground. 🤷‍♂️

  10. Suffering from affluenza seems to be rather painless, when compared to pandemics of other ailments these days.

  11. A child falls off a moto or a truck and is injured, and yes it is a tragedy. A child contracts Covid and brings it home to expose family members, friends and neighbors and it has the potential to be much worse. You don't see a difference?????

  12. “Sweathogs” was appropriated by Vinnie Barbarino, Horshack, Epstein, and Freddie as the de facto name of their harmless inner-city gang at James Buchanan High School in Brooklyn. The name had long been used in the school by teachers and staff for the juvenile delinquents who were enrolled in remedial classes.

  13. Boy am I glad I don't use ATM'S or my Canadian VISA card here. I far prefer simplicity instead of all the messiness most of you seem to put up with to pay for things with your own money.

  22. The chances of a gringo letting you into a line of traffic are way lower than that of a Mexican driver doing so.

  23. Is it the blade that is leaking, or the motor, or none of the above? Most fan blades are painted particle board. You can replace them with metal, this is popular on the coasts, using a commercial grade fan. The motor has a small amount of grease, but is unlikely to run. Unless water is leaking through the ceiling above the fan and causing corrosion/rust. The problem with ceiling fans, in all the Mexican places we have lived, they require an expensive service because they are so high up they require an extra tall ladder. They should really be serviced using a scaffold, because removing and replacing fan can be a two man job.

  24. Rudy Guliani had the same problem. They said it was hair dye. You know at a certain point we are going to look back at 2020 with disbelief. Hope it is soon.

  26. I am quoting myself here because I do not understand why anyone (cafemediterraneo) would award me a SAD thingy for this post. This same person planted 2 more SADS, 3 LIKES and a CONFUSED just on this one thread!!! Now I am CONFUSED as to the new trend of people hiding behind cartoons rather than stating their reasoning and rationale in plain English. Is it because of the lack of communication skills, laziness or something else???

  27. This is one of the most bandied about conspiracy theories used by those who like to deny the seriousness of COVID and the death toll it has taken. Imagine this: You have a bad leg- an old injury that didn't heal properly. It causes you to walk with a limp, you definitely can't run. It hurts sometimes, but you've lived with it long enough to know what aggravates it, like standing for too long, walking on uneven ground, wearing shoes without good support, sitting with your legs crossed. So you try not to do those things, and if it's really bothering you, some anti-inflammatories do the job. One day you are crossing a street in the crosswalk, as are a couple other pedestrians. Suddenly, a car comes careening around the corner, a drunk driver at the wheel. The other pedestrians manage to run to the sidewalk just in time, but your bad leg prevents you from doing so and the car hits you and kills you. What was your cause of death? The fact that you had a bad leg, or the fact that a drunk driver hit you? Just because someone has diabetes, or heart issues, doesn't mean they might not live another 30 or 40 years if they alter their diet, their lifestyle, and take medication for their condition. But if they contract COVID and die, it's because the virus taxed their already compromised health, therefore they died because they were infected with COVID.

  28. Since Mexico doesn't do that for anyone why would you have this concern? I would guess since it is so much more affordable here and the climate so much better particularly for the old they would come for that reason. And I would expect they'd have to follow the same visa rules as everyone else.
