  1. From Buganvilias Plaza where the new Indian/Pakistani restaurant will be, is a 5 minute drive to my house. I hope BOTH restaurants prosper!

  4. Delivery time from Chapala to Ajijic, 20 minutes minimum, with high season traffic, much longer. Food, no matter how good it was fresh out of the oven, or off the grill, suffers from that long in a container. Those of us in Ajijic are looking forward to having a nearby Indian eatery.

  7. No, you have it confused with something else. The bug pictured is harmless. No, it doesn't look anything like a kissing bug. And the bite of a kissing bug isn't dangerous. It's their feces which carries a parasite which causes a disease called Chagas.

  8. If you want clear turquoise water you have to go to the Caribbean or the Indian Ocean. Probably others but I've been to both of these places. Beach orientation on the Pacific plays a big role as to whether the beach is calm or wild with big waves surfers love. Sayulita, San Pancho and Chacala face due west and have some pretty good waves along with rip tides. Guayabitos for example is oriented northwest in a protected bay so the waves are generally minimal. The OP was asking about condos which often but not always have pools. If you buy a house you can add a pool as long as there is sufficient room on the property. Having access to both is a big plus. One possible reason for the expansion along the Pacific is access to large population centers. With the new cuota finished at some point, the drive from Guadalajara becomes minimal. From Mexico City it is probably over 20 hours to the Cancun beaches and half of that to the Pacific, easily a day trip versus 2 days.

  10. It's probably a harmless Leaf-Footed bug, common in No. America, including Mexico. Leaf footed bug

  13. Right, Jillin'. You, in your all-seeing wisdom, know what other people have eaten and feel quite justified in telling them they are lying. What's the matter with you?

  14. If Mr Jillin hasn't recommended it, it is really of no significance. When will the rest of us learn?

  16. Our own lawyer told me this. We got to know each other over many years. He told me that the worst part of being a lawyer in Puerto Vallarta was there was not another single lawyer he could trust. He spent six years successfuly litigating our case, battling four time wasting appeals, against a well known crooked property owner and a crooked Notary, only to lose it in the end by another crooked Notary. DO NOT BUY PROPERTY IN MEXICO UNLESS YOU CAN AFFORD TO WALK AWAY. There are too many goalposts constantly moving by government or powerful individuals, or both. The real estate lady who writes about historic properties in PV told me that nearly every desirable property she knew of was in a quagmire of title disputes, none of which your Notary will tell you about. Ask someone who knows, about all the arbitrary changes the new Presidente has recently made. No other country would turn over property rights and taxation issues in such a dictatorial way. And in Mexico, blood is always thicker than water when dealing with foreigners. Always. Our lawyer's son was studying law, to take over his father's firm, but he too began to see all the necessary corruption there, and decided not to become a part of it. How many lawyers have been murdered in PV over the past 10 years? At least 5 I think. https://www.dallasnews.com/opinion/commentary/2019/10/21/mexicos-tax-crackdown-could-harm-texans/

  18. I think so. As someone who hates the taste of lamb and loves venison, I can attest to them not being even close to similar in flavor.
