  5. I think the majority of those who own 2nd homes here will return for at least part of the winter season. Renters, not so much. Most rental websites (and storefronts) show many vacancies.

  6. Shingrix requires two shots. I think I had to wait 3 months between them, so you'll want to make sure you will be able to get the second one too. Also, my arm felt like I had been kicked by a mule after the shots.

  7. Your statement is incorrect. Have lived here for almost 10 years total, owned 2 homes here and renovated both of them; have a gardener at our current home. Never have needed or wanted a local bank.

  9. One thing you have to remember. EACH USD you use to pay her in CAD is worth MORE in CAD because the CAD is only worth .73 or.74 cents compared to $1 USD. So you send LESS dollars than the conversion from Pesos directly to Canadian, because your USD are worth more. Think of it this way: If you had to pay her directly from pesos to USD, you would pay +/- the $2,088. Period. And that's what you will be doing from your point of view. That she receives a higher "number" of dollars is only because it takes more CAD to equal your USD. SO nobody "loses" in this.

  10. That would be great, schedules, and especially the non-existent Canadian airline refund policies. $$$

  11. Paypal = You send $2088.64 Recipient gets $2648.39 Conversion rate: 1 USD = 1.2679 CAD It just doesn't seem like there should be more CAD $'s than US $'s.

  15. Yes, I'm perfectly capable when it comes to reading comprehension. I asked where she got that stat. As usual, you have nothing to contribute.

  16. There are enough dentists doctors Lawyers and restaurants to go around. Not everyone has the same experience. Go with who you want and let it be. Just because we have had bad experience with Dr Candy does not mean all will have the same experience.

  17. Some representatives of the foodbank were at the organic market on Tuesday accepting donations and we donated, grateful for their wonderful work. We have adopted a few different families here.....or maybe I should say they adopted us because they sure are wonderful to us.....and we help them with food, cash when necessary and we pay for one families oldest daughters accounting school classes and books. We are not wealthy and basically live off of our SSI and a small pension but compared to the average Mexican person here we are very well off. Those of us on fixed incomes here have not been seriously affected financially with the hardships of Covid-19 but in the states prices on nearly everything have gone up substantially as I witnessed spending 4 1/2 months in Oregon recently. This is a very good opportunity to help our Mexican neighbors if we can and they sure could use it now💓

  21. Yes that is about the right time-frame. But my comments were not driven by the tenure of her brother at her dental office but rather the FACT that I had an appointment with HER for a consultation and a cleaning. After the consultation and without a word to me, she turned me over to a non-professional to do a sh*ty and short job of cleaning and then charged me the professional price of 500 pesos when other good dentists were charging 350 pesos and were done by a DR. or DRA. I decided then and there that there are too many good and ethical dentists in town for me to go back to her office. My experience and my decision. Not up for debate. It's obvious that you have had good luck with Dra. Candy. Others like myself have not. And you just can't seem to accept that other's experience and opinion is as valuable as yours, and that we must either be wrong or 'out to get her'.

  22. Yes, check to make sure the destination on the bag tag is your final destination...they should check it all the way through unless the don't have a baggage agreement with a connecting airline. Southest, for example has no baggage agreements with other airlines.

  23. There is a service desk only for luggage forwarding, nothing else, as you enter the baggage claim area at the CDMX airport that gives you up to date baggage forwarding status by giving them your boarding pass. If, for some reason, your luggage didn't get forwarded to your next flight they tell you it will be coming down to there and pick it up. My wife obviously doesn't trust airlines so uses this service everytime. It only takes a few minutes.

  24. What happened before may not happen now. When you check your baggage in at the GDL airport ask if they will be transferred and check the baggage tag for your final destination destination.
