  1. I feel the limiting of Tapatios should be reinstated. Ajijic village on weekends is being populated with tapatios who do not wear masks and gather in large groups. I feel the mayor needs to step in to stop tapatios who do not have homes here from coming in. No bringing all your friends for the weekend JMO

  3. The following letter was sent to members of the Racquet Club so please continue to practice caution as the Virus Trojan Horse has arrived from Guadalajara; Last Wednesday, a person who was diagnosed with COVID-19 over the weekend was playing on the tennis courts. She lives in Guadalajara. Some of the workers had contact with her and all the workers had contact with each other, so they can be a source of contagion for other people. Due to the above and given the danger that this represents for the members of the Raquet Club, I communicate you that the club’s facilities will be closed for the next two weeks August 10 (today) to 23 (will, be Sunday). The workers, as we did at the beginning of the pandemic, will go through a sanitary filter every day and will continue to work each in their area without having contact with each other. The reason is that we cannot stop supplying water and we cannot stop keeping the facilities clean and in good condition. I appeal to your understanding for this decision. Les agradezco mucho sus atenciones. Atentamente

  4. You say that as an active, connected member of the community both in person and on line. These predators are not targeting people like you. They are seeking out the isolated, not quite with it, older people, maybe early stage dementia, uninformed, isolated, and frightened. They prey on the most vulnerable which is what makes them so despicable.

  6. I swear this question has come up almost every month since they moved SIX months ago. In case anyone else is wondering the hardware store next to Ilumina (lighting store) has also moved into Riberas near Nomad furniture.

  7. We've used iShop for 3 years and are happy with them. Time to receive packages varies depending on customs. iShop is pretty efficient although the webpage that tells you if you have mail hasn't worked in about a year!

  8. posted earlier in this thread The Ajijic postmaster was there(in Chapala) and told me that my box will be transferred to Chapala on Tuesday and that I will keep the same mailing address that I had in Ajijic as well as the same box number.

  9. Another great thing about Ajijic Electronics is that they are experts about getting English programming from the north and about servicing satellite receivers etc. They are also a great sources for Satellite dishes, LNBs etc.

  10. I've had a PO Box in Ajijic for 20 years and still use it for certain things. Sometimes you require original documents (if and when they get through to you) and delivery is still erratic, though the guy on the motorcycle's been great about bringing my packages (if & when they get this far). Occurs to me though that maybe I have to change my mailing address and can't even begin to remember the number of people/places I would have to contact. Arrrrrgh! Or would mail directed to my Box number in the Ajijic office automatically find its way to Chapala now? I had no idea this was happening and I'm really glad someone thought to post here. I've found this board to be an invaluable resource for general info and for sourcing items here, so thank you all!

  12. I'm pretty sure anyone receiving the scam call mentioned by the OP on a VOIP Canadian or US number would know that no one calling could possibly know if they had been "in close contact" with anyone in Mexico. Much less send a test kit from Canada or the US to Mexico.

  13. Don't forget all the people who died BECAUSE they took hydroxychloroquine. The VA study of patients in VA hospitals was an early warning. https://www.stripes.com/news/veterans/study-of-malaria-drug-on-va-virus-patients-shows-no-benefit-more-deaths-1.626877 https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2020/08/08/after-hundreds-covid-19-deaths-state-run-veterans-homes-lawmakers-press-va-adhere-science/

I remember their telephone # it is 376-766-1117 When I first arrived we only dialed the last five numbers, you know 61117 then it went to a few years later and we dial seven numbers, 766-1117 and now 376-766-1117. Guess what is coming next. I aint telling
