  1. Who like to personally insult other posters, I think it is time we got beyond the crass insults and became much more erudite at it. Hence, when I saw this it occurred to me immediately this would be a great addition here. Enjoy! Ladies and Gentlemen, start your insults. Let's set to work on being impertinent motley-minded harpys!

  2. You've been invited, "nay, dare I say coaxed".....by a MOD, to freely insult others within the limits of this tool kit, as I read it! So.....🟢GREEN LIGHT, amigo (AKA, you fawning, idle-headed, vassal!) 😉 Cheerio!

  4. Since the Rio Grande Valley region in Texas is currently a pandemic hot-spot, Mexico should be blocking travel from parts of Texas.

  5. I'm not sure the US has a lot of room to suggest that any other country is not doing a good job fighting the virus. The US has approx. 4.7% of the world's population and approx. 26% of confirmed Covid19 cases and 22% of deaths. I'm sure these numbers are not exact because of the numerous ways they have been played to reflect political reality instead of actual reality. Not just in the US either. I'm pretty sure Mexico is playing the same games now. In any case, it sure doesn't look like traveling anywhere is going to be a good option anytime soon. Alan

  12. I filed the non-filers form about three months ago, and 8 weeks ago found the notice on Get My Payment that my payment had been mailed on June 12. I have yet to receive either a check or a debit card. I'l call that 800 number to see if I can learn anything. EDITED TO ADD: Late this morning, I did call the IRS number that dichosalocura posted. The wait time to talk to an actual person at the IRS was said to be between 15-30 minutes; the actual wait time was about 45 minutes and it was worth every minute of it. The person I talked with identified herself with an official IRS ID number, asked me for some data about myself, and opened up my ACTUAL FILE showing what had already been done to get my stimulus payment to me. She read me chapter and verse that a) the direct deposit was attempted (but at a bank where I have never had an account, go figure) and b) the actual check was mailed to me (to the correct address in Morelia) on June 12, but has never arrived. She said they would put a tracer on the check immediately, that the tracer would take about 6 weeks, and at the end of that time the check would be deposited to my USA bank account--and ONLY to my USA bank account, she was unable to find a way to deposit it to my Mexican bank. She assured me that the IRS would notify me about the results of the tracer. Then she walked me through changing the deposit account to my USA bank, which she assured me would not affect my Social Security deposits to my Mexican bank. I was amazed at her knowledge, her patience, and her willingness to stay on the phone with me until we were both sure the changes were accepted and the process was a done deal. This is the IRS, folks, and I was impressed. I strongly recommend that if you have not yet received a check that was to have been direct deposited OR was mailed to you and has not yet arrived, call these people. The wait time to talk to a live person is worth it. Had I not called them, I would never have had a single hope of receiving the money. The IRS Stimulus Payment number, calling from Mexico, is: 001-800-829-1040. Thank you immensely, dichosalocura, for posting that information.

  13. I would suggest that many responses to the original post seriously digress and confuse. "Caputo OO" flour has 11% protein. Mexican "Talpita Extra Fine" ( 10.5% protein) which is available virtually everywhere, including Superlake and Walmart for about 14pesos per plastic kilo bag provides for virtually the same excellent quality pizza crust. For the first few years after relocating to Lakeside from Ontario, Canada and having spent many years in the restaurant industry, our last restaurant's pizza sales volume required that we make 300 lbs. of pizza dough every two days. After retiring and relocating to Lakeside, for the first few years we relied on buying "Napoletana/Stagioni le 5 "OO" flour from Superama (Owned by Walmart) which has a several small, but excellent locations in GDL. One day we were having lunch in a very successful and long established Italian eatery in Providencia in GDL and as we were incredibly impressed with the quality of their pizza crust we inquired about about their flour and source. The owner readily disclosed that they bought their flour "in bulk" from Soriana. He told us that the flour was "Talpita". We asked him if he was familiar with the Italian flour" Napoletana/le 5 Stagioni" (11.5% protein) which my wife and I had been buying, for several years, from the Superama store which was located on Manuel Acuna (approx. 1 km. from his restaurant). His response (and I quote) " Way too expensive and it's exactly the same thing!" Well, it may not be exactly the "same thing" but he was totally correct in that the Talpita Extra Fine, can be purchased for 1/8th of the price of imported Italian "OO" flour. Our experience in the years since: We never use anything else. Our friends love our pizza and.......as we frequently give pizzas as gifts or simply to people we do business with, the owner of the successful Providencia Italian restaurant/pizzeria that I've mentioned herein, arranged for his supplier to provide us with our supply of pizza boxes whenever we need them. Which is often, as we happen to have a commercial pizza oven that's used constantly.

  14. For a fast and easy super thin crust personal size pizza, the pita bread (pan arabe) in about the 10 inch size works great. Use it from frozen, spread the sauce, cheese, etc.....pop it in the toaster oven at 450 F, or even the toast setting, and in 5 min you can have a great result.

  21. No big deal. Some evidence says it works and some says it does not. I find no evidence that it works as a preventive only as a treatment. You are a big boy and I assume you have read the risks. I do suggest you add vitamin C. The US is the only place still down talking this simple and safe vitamin. Ok let the others argue. If you don't mind let us know how this works out for you. I am curious.

  23. A Mexican debit card should work for depositing money to the account, but not for linking the card for automatic payments. Don't know about Oxxo, at BBVA it is a few seconds.
