  1. Yesterday my car a/c went out so I went to EuroFreeze next to Gossips to get it repaired . As I got out of my car I tripped over a broken curb and fell HARD . Before I hit the concrete , Manuel and one of his helpers were there to help me up . Lots of blood , cuts and bruises but nothing broken . Sore as hell today . As soon as I was up and while I was trying to stop the bleeding which is no easy task since I am on blood thinners , Manuel went to the Farmacia next door and came back with bandages and other stuff to treat my wounds . He never hesitated to do this and would not take a single peso although I offered him a nice amount . Needless to say there were a lot of tacos and cokes for Manuel and his men today . Don't feel sorry for my accident because I know I need to be careful when walking in the village but rather concentrate on the great kindness shown by these guys . I am not looking for reviews of their work because that wasn't the important thing in this case .Please give them your business should the need arise . Their phone number is 331 584 5209 .

  2. And this is the second unnecessary critical comment you have made today. Take a break, please.

  4. My reading of it was that he was being tongue-in-cheek. How exactly would "After I sell my money" make any sense? Perhaps you have never heard of Monet and didn't get the joke?

  5. Maybe Sunfan is selling one of his Monet paintings to buy the car. You didn' t think of that, now did you?

  7. It will always be Dusty Chicken. It has been Dusty Chicken for many, many years. Anyone recall how many? I’d hate to guess incorrectly. This other place will be the Fake Dusty Chicken Chapala but located in Riberas.

  10. Well, you are really angry over a nickname , not everyone knows David's chicken as Dusty chicken ( i mean even him won't call his place that) , we have different specialities as we offer different delicious chicken options. I think you are taking a roadside bussines name too personal. We will be happy to receive your order and i'll make sure I add a free clonazepam for you and a cup of wine! Have a great day. 13. They are fully aware they have copied the name and using it for the business. They will argue some crazy none sense about being on the highway and a mechanic named it that years ago and blah, blah, blah. They don’t give a flying f*****. As long as they get business

  14. I notice, not only on this site, but on Facebook, that many people fail to check their typing before they post something. In your topic line you said "Began", whereas I think you meant "Begun". Then you go on to say "bumber to bumber" instead of "bumper to bumper". Forgive me for being picky, but I see more and more of this all the time.

  15. What a sad bunch of people some of you are on this board.. To say they had been drinking without knowing the facts, and you don’t know the facts... I didn’t see the accident but I was told from someone who did there were several motorcycle that appeared to be racing each other... How sad you have to post a photo of the body, Don’t you have any thought for the deceased's family... who just might be members of this board.

  24. Mark - Are you looking for info/help to take the dog with you to the US, or are you trying to get her to the US for adoption via one of the rescue groups? As others mentioned, the rescue groups moving dogs to the US for adoption aren't operating right now. But it shouldn't be a problem to take the dog with you to the US - a matter of getting paperwork regarding vaccinations and vet health checkup.

  26. From what I have been reading, Mexico & the US are not only under-testing, but the test results are questionable. The one hour Abbot Lab test is reported to be getting upwards of 20% false negatives. Abbot says it is user error, but the incorrect results are the same.

  27. It's not about your purchase transactions. It's about all the value of the data of you being on the site, what you look at, who you communicate with, all of that. It all gets analyzed, sorted, and resold, both at the macro and micro levels.....and it lives forever.....believe me.....the world of big data.

  33. Maybe stick to snorks and Disneyland worthy fake colonial knockoffs. The two year grafts are about 4 foot high saplings. Walnuts are grown in and exported by the tonnes from Mexico. They are also an important element of Mexican food culture. https://www.nytimes.com/1986/07/20/travel/fare-of-the-country-in-mexico-walnuts-make-the-sauce.html

  34. You are operating your business as you choose. So, is every other business person. They are operating as they choose, not as you choose. And, that seems to be the problem for you. Sounds to me as though businesses are offering a choice of ways to contact them just not the way(s) you prefer.

  36. “Being subject to ridicule hasn't budged me yet. I just don't giveadamn.” I have no problem with people choosing not to be on Facebook or any other form of social media — including web boards. What I do have a problem with is the incessant whining from a few about why people who have chosen to use social media should also maintain other ways to communicate with the special few who believe that the way they use the internet protects their privacy. The privacy ship sailed a very long time ago.

  37. HAPPY to report (for those like me who don't use FB) that ALL of Mauricio's dogs are adopted or else in shelters. This was achieved by a caring of a group of foreigners who knew and loved him, and resolved that NONE of his animals would be put down. The cat is at a local vet office to be spayed and then her future to be determined also. Mods: This might be more appropriate in Furry Friends but int his case, hope you will agree is more likely to be viewed by more on this page. Gracias.

  41. A Mexican (or gringo) who is very sick would go to the IMSS clinic, or Insabi, or their Dr., or Cruz Roja or one of the hospitals here. If they had covid symptoms they would be sent to GDL for a test. They are performed by the UDG on a drive in basis, at the IMSS and civil hospitals, plus some private hospitals. All test results (negative or positive) are reported to the state & federal govts. When anyone is confirmed at any testing site their place of residence is posted, not the location of the test. If they die their place of residence is posted. There are no test sites in Ixtlahuacan. There was a positive reported, and later a death confirmed for that person. And as of last night there were 0 confirmed cases of covid 19 of residents of Chapala or Jocotepec municipalities.

  42. "0 Confirmed cases in Chapala"? First there is NO HOSPITAL that a Mexican would use in Chapala. They are all targeted to Gringo private insurance. If any Mexican was sick from COVID 19 they would most likely go to a hospital in Guadalajara. Second there is NO TESTING that I have seen in order to support this overly broad statement. You can not claim "0 confirmed cases in Chapala" where there is no testing in Chapala, that is absurd. Third if the COVID 19 were in Chapala, from what I see in my neighborhood it would spread like wildfire. Today I left the house to take the garbage to the street and saw 6 people in 2 minutes none of which were wearing masks. Just 2 days ago everyone had masks. One person was a passing motorist that swerved to the left side where I was , to turn his head out his open window and coughed as he passed me, less that 2 ft from my body. The other four walked by in a group chatting as if nothing was going on in the world. Interesting how the meaning of "0 Confirmed Cases" can change depending om he circumstances. The reality of the circumstances are is that nobody wants that number to go up so they are not inclined to start widespread testing and show the real situation. This same thing is happening everywhere in the USA now as testing becomes more available. Not that there are more cases but more being confirmed through testing. No testing seems to imply no confirmed cases. wow isn't that too convenient?

  43. You could scan and send her a copy of your CFE bill to prove the address that she will be staying at with her parents once she's done quarantining, and if she books an Airbnb or something, she'll get a receipt with the address on it. You might even get someone who's fluent in Spanish to write a letter outlining her purpose in coming and scan and send that to her as well. She could print all that stuff out and have it with her just in case. Mexican bureaucrats love paper, the more the better. Of course, Murphy's Law, if you are armed with all that, they'll never ask, but better to have as much documentation as possible, just in case. 🙂

  47. I wouldn' t order until I was satisified that they had solved the botulism problem from a long, wet cure. Probably the health department will require the same for a product produced at the commercial level. Usually sodium nitrate, saltpetre, is added, which is the red color. Most non nitrate recipes require celery juice powder - now where in the haitch do you buy that? https://www.theatlantic.com/health/archive/2013/12/how-not-to-die-of-botulism/281649/
