  3. Had yet another lovely meal at Tio Domingo Saturday night. No one else in the place unfortunately, and I don't know why. It's a lovely and intimate setting, outdoors with heaters when necessary, and quite large indoors. Salvador and his family prepare very good home-cooked meals, like lomo in gravy, chiles relleno, and a top-notch Sopa Azteca. Agreed, it is not the kind of food that makes me want to write home: it is simple fare, well-prepared, and worthy of my own kitchen. And it's naturally Mexican. Plates are always hot and so the food is always piping, which cannot be said for almost any other restaurant around here. Service is quick and personable, with one son waiting and one cooking, and a ersonal touch provided by an English-speaking and humourous Salvador. (He is also an excellent carpenter, and continues to make fascinating chess sets in his spare time, for sale.) And those vegetables he serves with most meals are perfectly cooked every time. Prices are surprisingly low for today. 85 pesos for chiles rellenos? Wow. On March 21, he is preparing his once-or-twice yearly chiles en nogada.

  5. That's an entirely false and ignorant statement. Mexicans also get parasites and get treated for them. You think all those parasite medications in the pharmacies are there purely for the use of gringoes? And no, all Mexican restaurants don't recycle everything, including what's on the floor. Your statements are racist.

  7. Like many people, I got a few bottles jell at Walmart to sanitize my hands. As I read more from the CDC on this point, I found the below. If you bought some as I did, look at the ingredients. I couldn't read it, even with my glasses, nor with a magnifying glass. For me, it could only be read with a jewelers loop. If you have nothing to contribute to the substance of this post, please don't post. If you want to trash me, please feel free to PM me. Note below from my research that I hope will help some people. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- First off, it's important to note that hand sanitizer isn't the first strategy to prevent infection. Frequent and thorough hand washing with soap (for at least 20 seconds) is hands down the best method for reducing hand germs and curbing disease transmission, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). When soap and water aren't available, though, hand sanitizers can be used as an alternative, the CDC says. The alcohol in hand sanitizers lends those products their microbe-busting power, and the CDC recommends that sanitizers contain 60% to 95% alcohol in order to eradicate germs. Sanitizers work best on clean hands and may be less effective when hands are greasy or visibly dirty, according to the CDC

  9. Then the answer is they did not give you a fibre modem; they upgraded your ADSL modem. Nothing wrong with that, as more and more people are getting faster speeds from TelMex without going fibre. It's taking them decades, but they are improving their infrastructure little by little.

  11. Yes, it is a packaged RO and filtration system. When you factor in the cost of replacement filters annually, the maintenance cost which includes this and on site service if there are problems is very reasonable.

  13. If it's Mexican pizza, I'd say it was never meant to approximate Italian or even NOB. They prefer a thin crackery crust, what we back home would use for a "gourmet pizza". With the different toppings, one either seems to like it or not like it. I always have, although I much prefer an NOB style.

At the opening of the 2020 Census, Julio Santaella, went to a house in the mayor's office of Benito Juárez to conduct a model survey. In the same way they will be applied in the nearly 51 million properties around the country. In a press conference, the president stressed that for the security of both homes and pollsters, a protocol is established that mainly indicates that pollsters must wear the uniform all the time and their identification as representatives of the Inegi, also have strict orders of not entering the houses."

  18. And how does canned food recalled a year ago relate to dry food today? And guessing what you bought this time was not even Science Diet. You definitely have too much time on your hands.....and not enough knowledge......... again.

  20. You are asking the techs at the 1-800 number in Mexico City. They gave me a choice of two modems and I bought both on Mercado Libre. Those guys are good! I can honestly say that Telmex is pretty damn on the ball EXCEPT for the office here.

  21. I am in SAT on Jesus Garcia south of La Paz. Telmex was very spotty with very low downloads especially in the evenings. I had signed up with ILox when they first opened their Ajijic office and was finally hooked up about 6 months ago. What a difference! now a steady 80 - 90 download. Just a tip...stay with Telmex phone only service since the ILox phone service is malo.

  23. Two things about me. 1) I am a dog lover, 2) Right now, I have a lot of time on my hands, and 3) I am an avid researcher on just about anything that crosses my mind and interests and may concern me.. After we paid over $1,500 for a 7kg bag of alleged "SENIOR" dog food at a vet's office, in a fancy, shiny bag, I did some research. I just googled "Are fancy packaged dog foods better?" I suggest you do the same: https://www.google.com/search?sxsrf=ACYBGNQhcxhhm1ANyNzQlfhhX-EJdNfBeQ%3A1582987631548&ei=b3laXsf8IMi4tQWbu63wDg&q=best+dog+foods+on+the+market&oq=are+fancy+bagged+dog+foods+any+better+than+simple%2C+plain+bags&gs_l=psy-ab.1.0.0i71l4.0.0..666125...0.2..0.0.0.......0......gws-wiz.hMA9mbAmLsI Look under the section, "PEOPLE ALSO ASK." You will find things such as this: "Hill's Pet Nutrition is facing the wrath of dog owners who say their pets became ill or died after eating canned food recalled nationwide for elevated levels of vitamin D that can poison a pooch.February 8, 2019. There are several good takeaways from what you will find. You can also Google: "Dog food recalls" and see who and why. Bottom line IMO: For all the fancy packaging and high prices, for the companies, its almost always about the bottom line. Just because something is in writing, don't think it's always true. I hope this helps some people and dogs.

  24. So Eric, is it true that should you have been in the greater Seattle Kirkland area, like I was and if you were exposed to the Corona virus, like I might have been, that drinking a Corona beer at least once per day like I did, that the chances are the symptoms from the virus will be less? It has worked for me. I have been back three weeks now and I am feeling pretty good.
