  2. This morning at about 9 30 am I received a call on our Magic jack line . An automated caller identified the source as the Social Security Administration .calling to let me know my S / S number had been associated with criminal activity and my account was about to be frozen . An agent would be on the line momentarily to discuss my problem....moments later the “ agent “ came on the line ....I told him I had no intention of discussing any supposed problem without identity verification . I asked for a phone and agent number saying I would call back...instant click . My point and warning is that after 30 years in the restaurant business dealing with these agencies SSA..IRS...etc.. they never call you ... they just send you hate mail..... continually!

  3. Where I live which is the North/West side of Chapala, Simapa only lets the water run for a couple of hours a day which is generally enough to fill the head tank (Tinaco). Myself, I rarely flush after only a pee. Next time I see the Simapa guy all get the details in terms of water supply duration and time of day. Also, each water meter is limited to 10,000 liters a month for 100 pesos. beyond that its like purchasing gas...

  4. People here are discussing the worlds most precious asset the availability of potable water and half of the usual assholes are arguing over spelling and pronunciation .....if you have nothing either relative or intelligent to add ......can’t you just keep quiet for once .

  5. According to the CDC, guess how many people in America died of influenza in the 2017-2018 illness “season” (November through March). Please be sitting down. 61,000. Last season (2018-2019), we fared better. The CDC reports 35 million flu illnesses, 490,600 hospitalizations, and 34,200 deaths. That’s still over thirty-four thousand of us dying of the flu in just a few months. And we’re supposed to freak out over something that hasn’t killed any of us yet and 34 in the whole world outside of China so far?

  6. Eric, as others have said before, "give it a rest." Waste your own time all you want, stop wasting ours.

  8. Its Cat and Mouse. They block something and someone comes up with a way to unblock it. But I've had issues and changed locations from Seattle to Dallas and it worked again. But some companies are getting around Vpns. Like capital one. You can VPN but they somehow know your not in country and will not allow you to make a deposit. I also think Electronics are going to maybe slow down a bit. No pun intended. But where do all the chips come from? At least some part in your piece of electronic is a chip from China. And they are shutting down all over. These prices already high in MX may also begin to rise. You think? Heard this morning South Korea was starting to have some issues. That's where Samsung home is. Just keep fighting

  9. ... but it should be noted that installation of iLOX in your location/house is not guaranteed, nor guaranteed to be done quickly even if available.

  10. I definitely don't get 100 up and down. The customer who gets that works online and is paying for the highest priced package. However, I pay for the lowest cost package, and consistently get 30-plus up and down. Just to compare, my final day with TelMex, I was getting 5.14 up and point 68 down. I am VERY happy with UNET so far. My Amazon Firestick now works smoothly, no buffering at all.

  11. Telcel wireless can be a good option for Infinitum users with a poor connection, if the cell signal is good in your area. The cell modem is also portable so you can take it with you around MX if traveling and has both WiFi and ethernet connections. 10 meg down and about 4 to 5 meg upload minimum as tested to date, occasionally much higher. 100 GB of bandwidth per month, for 399 pesos. Only mentions: 1 - the modem is 2500 pesos upfront..... and 2 - is that their admin startup processes / internal systems can be a bit painful.....

  12. Ian is correct. Social Security, Medicare, and the IRS do not call. Medicare will use email to provide information. Social Security and IRS only use postal service mail.

  15. Yes! Most absurd and criminal waste of water IMO? Flushing the toilet every time you have a pee. First worlders probably flush more gallons of water a day, just to get rid of a little urine, than what a family of four in some parts of the world, subsist on for all their needs, in a day.

  16. I should have clarified this. The carburetor cleaner comes in a can or bottle you pour in you gasoline/petrol to clean your auto carburetor. You simply pour the cleaner in a spray bottle and use it. Works great on metals haven't tried on anything else. I used it on stainless steel fixtures was told this (secret?) by a commercial cleaner. Try a little and if you don't like it pour it in your gas tank and get a clean carburetor!

  17. I am amazed when Moroso (mostly Mexicans) express "hurt" feelings when they find their name on the list of shame...for some reason there is an expection of a free ride..how pray do they expect to receive water etc (or CFE) if they do not pay the cost of pumping etc...its the same sitution on HOA fees, many Fraccs have collectors and pay them 10-15% to collect from owners in Guadalajara ...its an obligation.... read the rules before you buy

  20. MC, with all due respect, his posts are off topic for this part of the forum, at the very least; this is not a "stream of consciousness" section for global insecurities and a moderator.....and you may know one or more of those....should handle it appropriately. 21. Not to mention information was sent house-to-house in BOTH Spanish and English and it pretty clearly laid out why a well was needed. There have also been e-mails sent. Is it inconvenient? Sure, but I hardly think this is some diabolic plot for the board to get a load of money out of everyone. Meanwhile, go to the meeting, ask questions until you're satisfied and then vote. FWIW, we've seen several boards come and go. It's a thankless task and it's a lot easier to sit on the outskirts and criticize rather than to be one of those who are actually trying to make a difference in the fracc. JMHO.

  22. Why are you freaking out so much over this coronavirus. Don't you realize that the vast majority of people that get it don't die, they just become immune to it. It doesn't seem to be so scary yet. Far more people have died from the common cold in the USA this year alone.

  25. I would encourage all HOA Boards considering a new well reach out and talk with other HOA who have had experience in New wells. They are expensive projects which frequently do not produce the promised amounts of water

  26. I guess the hard truth is that your points are not really of interest to most of us and just clog up the board.

  27. I raise points of interest. I look for other opinions and thoughts. I don't look for negatives or sarcasm. Sometimes a well taken point will give me more information to consider and process. I believe that he who thinks makes others think. IMO, it accomplishes nothing positive to judge, better to either contribute something, including other points, but not random negativeness.

  29. I have Express VPN and use it for Amazon Prime, Netflix and Hulu. You do have to change the location in the app. I did have the location set up to New Jersey 3 and it stopped working so now I use Washington DC and that works now. Have you tried using different locations in the app?

  32. this might help the one person who doesn't know this. The sanitizing jells in the pump bottles are totally useless when it comes to Corona-virus. The jells are antibacterial, that means they kill bacteria. They do not kill a virus. In fact, using them to try to ward off a virus can cause you to have a false sense of security. The jell stays on your hands, as does whatever it has on it, even dead bacteria. Washing your hands with soap and water does not kill the virus, what it does is get it off your hands and down the drain where it will die after a period of time.

  33. Why exactly is he "off topic for this part of the forum"? There are several other, far more ludicrous (although this one has certainly morphed into one of those, for no apparent reason), threads here about Covid-19. Many people here use hand sanitizer gel. Y'all just don't like the guy, and think that simple rhetoric can rid yourselves of him.

  34. This truly has gone on long enough. Eric Blair at no point indicated that he was freaking out in any threads concerning this topic. Everyone else chose to jump down his throat for merely discussing something about a very-much-in-the-news topic, including a "safety" issue about hand sanitizer that people may not have known. This board is supposed to be here to help others. You may not like Eric, but his posts certainly do not warrant the patronizing attitude of so many members.

  35. All any of you have to do is use the ignore function of this board if you don't want to see the posts of any other member. Also since the list of thread topics includes the topic starter it is very easy to bypass and not open those threads.
