  1. Luis has amalgamated the lighting store with his furniture and fan store. Go east just past Mirasol, lakeside, same name: Lumina y Decora

  2. iLox was able to get into Lakeside because almost 500 people paid UP FRONT for the service, because they were so pissed off with TelMex over the years. That's a lot of people who have not experienced what you are talking about. I still deal every single day with TelMex customers who get anywhere between -2 and 5 Mbps. That's no improvement.

  3. Pot. Kettle. Black. For the past 20 years, until my retirement 10 years ago, my stated occupation on my Canadian income tax forms was "professional artist and mason" A professional artist is someone who has fine artist skills, but chooses to sell those skills to the highest bidder. That is all that I am recommending here. Simple. I have worked alongside with some of the best fine artists in the world, a very tough game to get recognition. On wood working, I owned a golf tee factory, into which investors poured in enough to purchase five automatic hollow chuck lathes, a chain driven circular saw, dust collection, two heavy duty router tables, automatic pad printer. The wood we used was B.C. interior Birch which was inexpensive because it was often gray water stained. In short, I have been through truck loads of birch, yellow cedar, maple and alder. All that time you were running around to flea markets, as some sort of grifter, trying to hoodwink people into thinking these extremely ugly articles were actually highly valuable works of art. I always remember when you asked if I could connect you with a famous architect. You sent a picture of all these firewood logs dressed up in old clothes. You claimed he was a famous folk artist, yet when he died, there was not a single word about this in his lengthy obituary. Out of my ken, really? I double dog dare you to send in a picture of the firewood people which I believe you wanted $20,000 cdn for.

  5. It is clear to me that the OP is an artist creating originals and is not interested in mass produce engineered commercial things and your link is for beginners which apparently the OP IS not. No your wood burning kit does not count nor what you may have done with it as I also did as a cub scout. I suggest that you attempt to make posts about something that you have knowledge of and this thread is clearly beyond your ken. Maybe I should have said pyrographic original art instead of just pyrography Don't insult the OP by suggesting that they need to learn from your beginner site. From a sample of their work that they posted they ain't no beginner and they don't need to step up as you put it.

  9. What's bugging me is the "it's all in your head" implication and subtle tone of ridicule. Yes, there are people who "fad think" about various foods and diets, but at the same time, there are those who really are sensitive to certain substances. What's the point of the "attitude"?

  10. What I am curious about is WHY anyone is implying that there are no negative effects from MSG? Seems almost like a crusade. Those who experience the effects know the difference between facts and b.s. As it happens, I love Asian food and know full well what is going to follow...discomfort. I eat it anyway, though not often. I sure don't use MSG for my home cooking.

  11. When we installed a second meter on the pool and garden lot we found out the hotel down the road had ther private water line on the other side of the street and our house was connected to it as well. we ended up with an 8000 pesos bll for the first 2 months as the meter was registrring their use as well. The water company give us credit and move out line over to the other side and cut off the hotel but it is interesting what you find out when you look closer..

  12. As a family historian, I am saddened to see the lack of obituaries. I have learned so many interesting and surprising things about my ancestors from their obituaries. In the States, family members aren't publishing obituaries because the newspapers are charging so much for them. I hadn't thought about a woman alone but I remember concern about publishing the funeral information because thieves knew the house would be empty. A sad state of affairs.

  13. You are allowed a one time exemption from taxes for importation of household goods as a legal resident. No IVA is paid. You will need a menaje de casa. If you are using a moving company they will work with the customs agent. You can find a lot of information on rollybrook.com

  15. This situation has been discussed here many times. You have NO problems with your TIP and leaving your vehicle in Mexico if you fly out, giving up your Tourist Card, flying back in later getting a new Tourist card. No fines, no loss of deposit, no fees and no drama. You must within 180 days of the first TIP on the motorcycle remove it from Mexico BUT that is the only stipulation you have to worry about. Be sure when you cross the border with the motorcycle (within the 180 days) that you turn in/cancel the TIP at the border. Otherwise you will never be able to bring another vehicle into Mexico as they will 'think' that you already have one.... and one cannot have more than one TIP/vehicle in Mexico at a time. Keep the receipt that they give you when you turn it in 'forever'. Also turn in/cancel your Tourist Card at the same time at the same place. Then, if you wish to come back into Mexico with the Motorcycle you will need to get another TIP and Tourist Card. I would not do a "1-minute turnaround" doing this (turn in, get another)... wait at least a shift change or the next day. There actually is no law that says you can't come right back in but some border agents might think there is and may give you a hard time.

  16. i drove into mexico on christmas day, got a tip on my car and a fmm visa for myself. flew out on the 9th of jan and back on the 11th. no problem whatsoever. im assuming you have a tourist visa. the airline check in people will tell you what to do. i had to take my land entry 180 day fmm to immigration on north end of terminal and have it stamped and turn it in at the gate. the airline people had a stack of them in a drawer from other passengers. a lady travelling with me flew in on the 30th of dec. the airline took her fmm when they gave her a boarding pass so she did not have anything to turn in at the gate like i did. i asked and they said it was because my fmm was from a land crossing. i got another 180 day fmm when i came back into gdl on the 11th. i will turn both in at the border before they expire and should have my deposit back in 2 days.

  21. I never said that medicines or big Pharma was all bad and evil, it is a business like all others. If you need an antibiotic by all means, go get one, if you feel depressed or manic and the medicine they give you stabilizes you, by all means, there is nothing wrong with taking it if you need to. The only thing I was pointing out was that sometimes doctors hand out pills as if they were candy when then can sometimes be avoided. In the US, kids that are unruly and show signs of ADHD, often times they drug them up with Ridlin or similar stuff, when if left untreated many times they will outgrow it. When in pain, by all means get pain medication. Mental illness is a science still in progress, you can not do a blood test to determine if she or he is bipolar or schizophrenic, it is the opinion of the doctor and he alone determines which drug and how much to take to stabilize the person. Sometimes it works other times it does not or only works for 6 months and the drug cocktail must be changed. Diabetes often times is caused by bad diet and often times can be corrected by diet. But each individual is unique and must determine what works best for them. There are many pharmacies here that will treat you for free or close to it (if you promise to buy your prescriptions from them), I went to Similiares once when I had bronquitis and the doctor prescribed me like 5 different medicines, an antibiotic, a nasal spray, a decongestant and god knows what else, and I was thinking all I what is an antibiotic. Of course medicine is lifesaving and big pharma saves millions of lives, but it is also a business and money making. Often times their are alternatives that work and sometimes not. That is all I was trying to say. When a young person begins to suffer from mental illness, I believe you should at least attempt alternatives first before getting them hooked on strong heavy pharmaceuticals that may or may not help him or her, long term, and will also possibly cause addiction and health problems down the line. I have all ready been down that road with my sister and it did not turn out so great. Always listen to what your doctor says, and then fully research it with an open heart yourself later, read everything and anything about the topic and go from their. Doctors are not gods, and with the information of the internet we can now be better informed about newer forms of treatment that even your doctor may not be aware of.

  22. Daniarte. If you are doing this for a living and are still fairly young, you really have to step your game to learn how to create content for cnc and vector graphics. This a top job right now and you could probably freelance. I know of a large cnc machine in Chapala and a family friend has one in Puerto Vallarta. He made a lot of money making metal gates, which incorporate artwork. The problem is that the people who own these machines and sell their services, have strong engineering skills, but few creative artistic skills. Most of just steal or purchase images off the internet. This a good introduction to the skills you would have to learn. https://www.instructables.com/id/CNC-Tutorial-Image-to-Vector/

  23. I had a woodburning kit when I was 9 years old - does that count! Sr. Google sure disagrees with you on this one. Also less problems with warping. As Ferret posted there seems to be only one company in this area that seems to understand the wood curing process. Here is forum for pyrographers and you google wood burned baltic plywood under images you will see how incorrect you are. https://pyrographyonline.vbulletin.net/forum/pyrography/pyrography-for-beginners/92-birch-plywood-question

After all these years of doing business and living here, I only believe reality when it actually happens. Chill!!!

  25. Unfortunately there seems to be a small (i hope) clique of anti U.S. ranters here. They simply are ill informed bigots who do not have a clue. I can point to many current realities including record clean air and water there, the worlds best economy (by far), an enviable record (at least now) of race and religion equality and yes the most yearly acceptance of immigrants of any country. If these folks would read history they would also know the the US basically saved Europe and much of Asia during the First World War and saved the entire world ending the Second WW. I would venture to say that we would all be speaking German now if not for that. Health care in the US is universally accepted as first class. Without going the Socialist route, most Americans are happy with their employer provided health insurance and private providers. It is also against the law there for a hospital to turn away anyone including illegals. Is it perfect? of course not but compared to most (including Canada) it's enviable throughout the world.
