  1. The "Trained" in Spain work mainly on the sprained

  2. Jorge was mentioned above and I have used him for a couple of difficult issues and can't recommend him highly enough. Trained in Spain and Mexico and has always exceeded my expectations. He definitely knows anatomy and works closely with a number of doctors including some of the best orthopedist in the area. In one case recently I was not responding as expected to deep therapeutic massage. After a couple of sessions he said that there was nothing more that he could do but made very specific recommendations and was very clear about what information I should share with the doctor he recommended - one of the orthopedist mentioned above. Great outcome and I personally wouldn't consider anyone else for something beyond just a simple spa type massage. https://www.ulloapt.com/

  3. Look at it this way. At least most of the music at Adelita's 's well done, if loud. You could live near Johnny's "Music" Bar where they play karaoke and the "music" is uniformly dreadful.

  4. Follow the instructions at the top of this forum. Make RECOMPENSA (reward) the biggest word on your poster. Photo will be a help. Posters on your front door/gate, both ends of your block, and maybe extend a little more. Neighborhood kids and often gardeners (to/from work) will do their best. Go out at night when it's dark and quiet, flashlight at the ready. Call him. Rattle a little bag of food or treats. Listen quietly. Repeat. Use the flashlight to look into every little nook and cranny you think he could not possibly get into. And GOOD LUCK!!

  5. Jorge Ulloa is highly regarded at Lakeside. He's a physical therapist educated and trained in Spain, where he grew up, and has had his Lakeside practice for a number of years in Riberas. He does massages, I'm assuming therapeudic. (They were for me.) His receptionist is his Mexican wife. Both speak fluent English. Call 108 1532. Lexy

  6. Can you imagine watching this in surround sound, blu-ray quality big screen, you would feel like you are actually in the crowd. I used to have a bootleg recording of the Sex Pistols live at the London 100 club. They were crap. I was in a band for a short time with this guy, he refers to the event in this song. I Ludicrous, David Rippengale, or Will Hung as he used to call himself back in the day! They have many recordings, one time I believe they opened for The Fall.

  9. I am reading the requirements for naturalization and the Reglamento de la ley de Nacionalidad . I can not find the clause you are referring to giving Delgados "broad descretion" Perhaps you could cite the Chapter number and article number. 10. There are two issues at play here. Firstly, amateur or even semi pro musicians can't believe people would want to talk through their amazing performances. The extreme is they play so loud that no one can recognise their lack of skill. The most famous example of this was Sid Vicious, bass player for the Sex Pistols. When they started he had no idea how to play bass, but he eventually became quite skilled. Another famously loud band was Motorhead, the musicians were talented but Lenny had such a high energy, to the limit voice, the rest of the band had to keep up. No ballads from Motorhead, the same as the guitarist for AC/DC, Angus was a briliant thunderbolt that the rest of the band had to follow. They recently tried to reunite, but they had to fire the original drummer because he was deaf! The second issue is if they are using house sound systems. If so, the DJs set up for high thumping bass, especially for electronic dance music. Then a live group comes in, does not change the settings, and you have very loud boomy set. Bass travels a long distance. In Vancouver, the low frequency bass sound is factored into the overall reading at a much higher rate. I'm sure they will evolve in this direction. Sub woofers are a fairly new piece of equipment. I have a 10 inch, 120 volt powered Paradigm subwoofer, and even this size can accurately recreate an earthquake or overhead helicopter in dolby 5.1. I have a whole system, including an up to date Onkyo amp for sale by the way. It would be great for a small bar or venue to have blu-ray live concerts. It is spine tingling realistic, and the advertising easy, "Friday night, Pink Floyd live in concert, the Drunken Clam bar" then the necessary smaller print of course.

  12. I have not noticed more problems in the US or France where they give you painkillers including morphine for the first day or two. Just because you take pain killers does not mean you can go out dancing.. You can get bed sore after 3 days of not moving , my husband got them on the third day when he got his hip surgery. I got surgery in Guadalajara 3 months ago and my arm was aestheticized the day of the surgery and the following day . I got some pain medicine, 3 different ones and that allowed me to sleep at night and I took them for a month in order to sleep .. so you do get pain medicine that is adequate here, is just that in many places the SP does not have them, I picked up a man the day after surgery of the gallbladder and a woman 2 days after hysterectomy and neither one had pain medicine and that is painful and it can be helped. No excuse for it..These people would have bought the medicine if they had been told what to buy.

  14. I said Jorge was a trainer for a Spanish soccer team not Lupe. Have you actually been and observed any schools for massage therapists in Mexico? You seem to be rather confused,so much so that your unsubstantiated statement has no relevance and is an insult to the many qualified Mexican MASSAGE THERAPISTS and is quite detrimental to the OP's search and any others looking for same.

  16. You are spot on Slainte39. In fact shown below is the ruling posted above, way above Constant difficulty in screening out rental businesses and agents and people with multiple properties has finally convinced us that it is time to respect the fact that this board is owned by a real estate company that is also in the rental business. The honor system just hasn't worked and the mods are tired of the whining and complaining and having to frequently delete and lock or ask for confirmation that the old policy was being followed. NEW RULE: NO rental ads for local properties, period. We'll continue to allow limited posted of short term vacation rentals out of the area, such as at the beach or mountains but no more rental ads for houses or apartments lakeside. Please feel free to post requests for rentals if you are looking for a place to rent. Ask the person to PM you with their offering. Make sure you post where you want it, how big and other amenities, and what you'd like to pay for it. Additionally, recommendations, advertisements and complaints about specific property managers are also not allowed. Ask people to PM you with their opinions. Violations will be immediately deleted. Second violations, poster is permanently blocked.

  17. The Canadian Consulate does not offer any services in the Chapala/Ajijic area. They don't come out here periodically. To find out what you need to do you can call them at 333-671-4740. It is a very easy office to get to in Guad.

  21. We are slothful beings, fond of lounging in our at home attire. Thus, Elegante's "Taste of Thanksgiving" take out was perfect for us. An ample well-prepared meal - turkey, dressing, cranberry sauce, roll, green beans. $150.

  22. 5 of us had a great Thanksgiving lunch at Sunrise in SAT...great turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, mashed potato, peas and corn and a very nice piece of pumpkin pie...all for $195. Everyone was very satisfied and happy with both the food and excellent service. Over the years I have seen that many restaurants here try to take advantage of the expat holidays and raise prices to exorbitant rates just because they think we will have no choice. Well maybe if we avoid those and patronize only who offer us fair prices for good authentic offerings will things change

  23. I have lived for over 13 years in lower SAT about 3 blocks from Adelitas. I have seen this place grow from a small hole in the wall sandwich/coffee shop to the first class, large classy establishment that it is now. About 10 years ago the mother of Jason, the current owner/operator, bought the place and I saw the gradual improvements through the subsequent years and about 4 years ago, a major 3 - 4 month renovation and enlargement including the large covered patio area in the back. Jason, being a musician himself improved the entertainment to the point that now the music is considered among the very best Lakeside with a mix of Latin and my favorite, Old Time Rock n' Roll from the 60's, 70's and 80's. Someone stated wrongly here that there is music nightly...not so...only on Friday, Saturday and Monday nights. Someone else stated wrongly that the customers are mostly expats and not Mexican. Also wrong. The Tapatios and Mexican locals have discovered the great food and entertainment and there is usually a great mix of folks there. I used to hear the music somewhat at my house depending on how the wind was blowing, but now not. Recently, enjoying the music there I ran into Jason's mother and mentioned that I was not hearing it at my house anymore. She pointed to a digital meter devise on the wall facing the musicians and it was reading between 80 and 90. She told me that the bandleaders were instructed to keep it below 100 since it was hooked up to some type of decibel meter outside and anything under 100 on the wall meter inside was legal. I know nothing about the Evento but Alelitas has been nothing but a very good restaurant and music/dance club and a very positive attraction to our wonderful little pueblo.

  25. ...and then one must check and see when "open enrollment" dates are. Yes, it would be much simpler if people could avoid signing up and paying a premium when they are not (or think they're not) sick and just be able to sign up online the day before they see a doctor or enter the hospital. And don't get me going about how they changed everything after we moved to Mexico. It was all simple to understand before we moved away from Medicare coverage and then somehow, some way, they changed everything. What, you mean they didn't? Are you saying I should have paid attention beforehand? I'm not a dumb person, it can't be my fault.

  26. Good luck with an uneventful crossing which it should be as long as you aren't trying to skirt any laws. It goes without saying that not having any arrest warrants is a good idea.

  28. Actually it is not on the Mexico side (Mexico side?) where much of a backup will be but rather on the US Customs side. I think that if you go into the US thinking "Police State" your mindset might depict how it goes for you. The process has not changed much over the years and I pretty much find all of the CBP personnel to be professional if not very much attuned to their task. Arriving in a US plated vehicle will probably be your best bet as it matches multi-millions of others there. They will DEFINITELY not just wave you on but of course that has never happened. Prepare to answer several questions.... preferably truthfully...., have no 'goods' that are persona non grata (meats, produce, fruits, guns or bullets etc). They will not care how much booze you are bringing into the US but the State you are coming into.... Texas especially.... will and will require you to stop and pay a tax on it.. Here is a URL to check all border crossings for wait times by the hour. US Customs and Border Protection Web Site.... estimated wait time for reaching the primary US inspection booth https://apps.cbp.gov/...action=n&pn=2304 This is for Laredo. Click on 'Back to List' to see all other crossings.

  34. Sorry--when you posted that he was in Spain as a pro athlete trainer I thought you were implying he was trained in Spain. I will not yield on my statement that Mexican massage therapists are trained for la la massage and without additional training are not qualified to do any other kind of massage. They can certainly get additional training in Guadalajara but it is post "graduate" education.
    0 points
  35. I still stand by my statement: Without additional training in deep tissue or therapeutic massage all they know and have been taught is la la massage. You admit that Lupe attends additional classes. You need to read my response a little closer and don't jump to conclusions. Physiotherapists are different than massage therapists here and in the US. You can't compare the training. And Lupe trained in Spain so your response makes no sense.
