  1. I've heard there are lawyers who can take care of getting an extension without your leaving the country. This isn't true?

  4. "I've heard from people". Hmmm. Those people are obviously ill-informed. The tourist visa is max 180 days. There is no process for extensions. There is no "problem", just the immigration laws and policies, which are expected to be respected. You have to leave the country by the time your visa runs out and re-enter.

  8. Someone has turned over to us a lost wallet. The owner is Steven Noll. Through some investigating, we have learned that he is currently in the US. If someone knows him and would have US contact information, please e-mail me right away. I think time is of the essence as the wallet has his residency card and he will need this into enter Mexico without loss of status.

  10. I trust the folks at Ajijic Electronics. The problem with paying a year in advance is no one knows when Shaw Direct will start changing channels from the satellites we can receive down here over to the new Satellite Anik G-1 which can not be received this far south of Canada

  13. Sounds like a scam. You don't need to meet with people to continue to get your Social Security. Just be sure to return the letter they send you each year if you use a Mexican address.

On my bank card from the US I signed my married name on the other cards my maiden name.. I had a notario in Mexico draw a paper listing all the names I use and certifying that they all represent me.. and that is t..

  16. Since you have now heard from “people” who say you can extend a 180-day visa without leaving the country and from other “people” who say you can not perhaps it is time to ask an immigration attorney.

  17. Before I explore the process in Mexico, I will just carry my Mexican birth certificate and my Mexican voters card, just in case Mexican officials and airline give me a hard time. I don't think US immigration would care since my US Passport and airline ticket will have the same name.

  19. What's being reported is the couple had emailed the owner on Sunday last to let her know they were having to leave because her roof was leaking so badly. They told her they were taking the cat and would care for it until she got home ....the problem was the owner didn't see the email apparently 😞. So the house sitters were not the bad guys.

  20. KFC was one of my cravings. One time, when visiting my mum around 2007, I gave into the craving and stopped at KFC. I bit into it, the grease ran down my chin, I heaved and threw the whole meal in the garbage. Never had it since. Has anyone ever stopped to think how much healthier food is here? I'd pick chicken mole over KFC any day. Twizzlers? No way. Artificial colour, artificial flavour etc. You're way better off without them. http://www.eatingrealfood.com/ingredients-in/strawberry-twizzler/

  21. I guess I've been living in Mexico too long. Can't think of a thing that I miss. When I first arrived in Mexico, there were a LOT of things that I missed but the times they are a changin' and nearly everything that I missed is now available here. I am also willing to try new flavours and presentations. YMMV.

  22. I agree. Blind dogs can manage very well. Their sense of hearing and smell are better than ours and they remember where things are. Don't put your dog through the stress.

  24. We got tourists visa at the airport. I asked for 180 day visas. My question is on getting the 180 day extension. I've heard from people there is a way of getting the extension without leaving Mexico, but can't seem to find information online. Anyone got any links or suggestions of someone to contact to solve this problem?
