  1. It is with great pleasure I tell you of ANOTHER outstanding Mexican . Last Thursday at Multiva bank ATM I placed my wallet on top of the ATM while completing my transaction and it fell behind the ATM where I could not reach it due to the wooden cover .After the panic subsided I realized that not only could I not reach the wallet , no one else could either except someone from the bank . I knew the bank was closed until Monday so I figured I would just wait until then ,go to the bank and get my wallet back. This didn't keep me from worrying about it .Today at 1:30 my phone rang and it was a man from the security company that services the ATM's .He said to his surprise when he removed the cover to fill the ATM he saw my wallet on the floor .He went thru the wallet, found my phone number and called me .I met him at Multiva in about 30 minutes and he returned my wallet .He asked me to look thru it to make sure everything was there .It was, including 1000 pesos that I keep well hidden for emergencies. I thanked him several times and offered him a reward and he refused , said he was doing his job .He seemed very proud that he was able to return it and save me much grief .Again I offered the reward and again he refused .Finally I had to almost put it in his pocket to get him to take it and even then he seemed uncomfortable . I will not give his name in case he violated some company policy by taking the reward but tomorrow I will tell his company (COMETRA SECURIDAD ) what a great employee they have and I will also go to Multiva and let them know. If you've ever lost a wallet you know how stressful that can be .I know a lot of you would have expected him to keep the money , throw the wallet away and go on his way. Not every person is like that .Right is right no matter the country or nationality. Thank you again my new friend.

  7. Although, he tried to rip you off, the driver told you the truth. Uber has a written agreement negotiated between GDL government, taxi drivers and Uber to only service area he mentioned. This agreement stopped the damages, vehicle fires, rock throwing, etc. from taxi drivers to Uber drivers. Now, some rogue Uber drivers are violating that agreement. Rogue Uber drivers are the ones hanging around the airport and working in lakeside. They have no authorization to sell their services at either location. Uber is not supposed to be servicing lakeside which is why so few are here and many of them want you to call them directly so they can charge whatever they want and pocket the whole charge. They are the rogue Uber drivers. You got caught by one who is simply trying a new scam to get more money from you.

  8. Well funny.... guess what? Saturday morning... day before Easter.... I was the first patient (I think) of the new hospital owned by Dr. Carlos Garcia, of Maskaras. I fell in the night, not gently. They took an X-ray, put me to bed for a long nap, gave me (non narcotic) pain pills as I am allergic. Etc. Very attentive young doctor (she speaks English if you need it). Lovely staff already working and clearly staffing up. They are clearly putting all the finishing touches in, and I believe the MRI is installed. The hospital isn’t huge, and the west wing is for “locales” or shops. I will see Dr. Gonzalez (he’s good, and been around for many years), the ortho, this week. I think the cost was $3,500p in total. The hospital is directly in front of Chula Vista. I’m sure there will be more news soon. So, Santiago Hernandez, looks like Maskaras beat you to the punch.

  9. Doesn't matter about names on the registration Whose name is on the import permit? If it is your wife's name, she is temporal, you as a permanante can drive under current rules. If it is in your name and you are permanente the vehicle is not legal and neither of you can drive it.

  12. Somebody written up in the first chapter of the bible[Nemesis] was giving poor gringal trouble? By the way,I have determined that people who end a sentence with "just saying" don't believe in what they're saying, are confused about what they're saying or insincere about what they're saying. And from a linguistic stand point it is as useless as ending a sentence with moving forward which seem to be the new catch phrase of professional sports persons among others

  15. He had 2,532 KWH in credits as of mid-Feb (2nd to last bill) after he used 332 KWHs to offset that CFE bill to (essentially) zero. I don't think he ran out of 2532 credits in a single billing period. That timeframe (mid Dec to mid Feb) is the coldest and often the costliest billing period for many of us here. The bill at issue with the $$$ due, is from mid-Feb. to mid-April which is usually a fairly low electric bill here. Realize it is a 12 month rolling CR, but most of us have about the same accumulated bills over most 12 month periods, yes some higher, some lower, but that 2,532 CR is super-sized. Maybe OP had a major change or anomaly that occured at his home ?? I.e., he added a swimming pool/hot tub/central a/c and/or heating system. Or he bought two dozen crockpots and opened a 24-7 pozole bar, no waiting 👨‍🍳 Also....OP, do you have access to online solar data via your installer? We have it via Go Solar's company and can query and generate reports of KWHs for past weeks, months, years, specific timeframes, etc. It's a great feature.

  17. KG.... that's a good option, better than Whiskas Kitten, and the only viable one (cost) for shelter numbers. But if you can manage a little more pricewise, you will have a healthier cat in the long run. Virbac kitten would be at the top of my list (have used it for 3), but Science Diet, Eukanuba or Royal Canin are other options--- all in kitten formulas. And yes, a little Felix canned as well.... but always remember it's a "treat" and an incentive to eat, but because of high water content does not provide adequate nutrition relative to tummy size (therefore food capacity per feeding) that dry food does. And I hope you know..... NEVER cow's milk! (Cat's can't digest it properly) Always clean, fresh bottled water, with dish washed and changed daily. Enjoy your baby!!

  18. Looking at the #'s on the bills again, they don't appear out of range or appear to be in error, so it is possible that some / all of the credits expired since the last bill, and the rest were then used up, and /or that your system is only partially producing. A 16 panel system is on the larger side, residentially, and it would be worth having it checked or checking the monitoring system to verify the solar production / output.

  19. Bisbee Gal is correct, the previous credit amount ("bolsa de energia) was 2532 kWh. Important to remember, the credits work on a 12 month rolling basis; anything older "drops off" - "use it or lose it". The meter indicators mentioned ( I and II) are the "use from CFE" and the "sent to CFE", respectively, on that type of meter. (there are numerous versions, some have arrows, some have these #'s, and the most recent have the 1.8.0 and 2.8.0 indicators) Check the meter readings against the CFE bill, best guess is it was mis-read. Take photos and date them ASAP. Likely will need a trip into CFE if they don't appear to be correct. Or, as SunFan did, you can allow the next readings (if correct....) to resolve it. Let us know!

  20. A few solutions to the higher temps of March, April, May and some of June: Install a mini-split air-conditioner in the bedroom. Now you are thinking, what about the CFE bill? Well, yes, there will be an increase. But if you run the a/c for only an hour a night to cool the bedroom off--the concrete walls retain the cooler temps--then you are only adding 1 kw hour a day, or 30 kw hours a month, to your bill--not enough to send you into DAC. Then I run a floor fan for the rest of the evening, measured with a Kill-a-Meter to be 40w an hour. Assuming you own your home, you can make a lot of improvements to reduce the heat. First, we repainted the imperbelizante on the roof from brick red to white. The white reflects the sun/heat. Using our laser digital thermometer we noticed a definite decrease in heat on the ceiling, by about 3C/6F. This lowered the room ambient temp, too. Next, we hung thermal insulated curtains over all the windows. This dropped the room internal temps by another couple of degrees. We put at least one big potted plant in each room. Plants respirate and decrease ambient temperature. Big potted plants (palms) outside on the terrace to filter out strong afternoon rays. I had a local carpenter make solid, internal shutters for my hottest windows. Like plantation shutters, but solid. They look great, reduce noise, and act as another insulation barrier to reduce heat. They also insulate rooms in the winter to maintain heat when we use a space heater. Overall the house's internal temperature now is about 73-75F, max, depending upon the room. That is really good this time of year, considering when we bought the house it was like a sauna and averaging about 85F this same time of year. Had some serious design flaws which I changed. All of these things cost money but then again, I am saving money by not paying to leave here for several months. ,

  21. I have never seen this exact question asked..... BOTH names on the title and one is Permanente.... but if I were a betting man I'd bet that your wife's name better be the only one on the title, she being the legal Temporal one. As you know by now, in that case you can drive the MH legally even without her in the vehicle. Unless you find out otherwise with authority, I would not temp fate.

  22. Chapala.com administrators - again, since it has been so long and so many changes since 2013 shouldn't you put a LOCK on threads older than 2 years. They would still be there for background info but it is so wrong to let items like this show up 5 or 6years after they are valid. It cannot be that hard to lock down a date every 4 months. I suggest June 2017.

  23. This is not the place to be getting this kind of complicated and sensitive information for the processes you are asking about. Talk to the trust department of the bank issuing the fideocomiso, an attorney, or a notario. for expert advice.

  24. No, I don't want to "help" MC or be a mod. They know how much they are willing to tolerate. As a poster, I am disappointed at what this is turning into and hoping for changes, or rather, returning to what it used to be before intense political posts were tolerated. However, my opinion carries no more weight than yours or anyone else's.

  25. or a mod who means business about not talking politics or slinging personal insults. I don't pay close enough attention to Sonia's posts to notice differences in sentence structure and word usage. If she does allow her husband to post over her signature, she has a problem in the independent entity department, IMHO. I'm sure MC could use a lot of help, wanna help him or maybe take his place? I usually find those who criticize people for the job they do are not willing to take over and run a different ship, they just like to complain. Happens a LOT in coaching gigs, both football and basketball. Often those who cry the loudest to replace what they have, get what they deserve, often coaches who are a lot worse than they had and it sometimes takes decades to undue the damage. That happens because the others who are satisfied just keep their mouths shut and let the abuse happen.

  31. Uber is rampant with rogue drivers. I sincerely doubt there is a "policy" like that; more likely, they just don't like driving "this far" with no return fare. The fee at the taxi stand inside the airport to Ajijic is a flat $420; someone else may be able to tell us if it costs more to go to San Juan. but I doubt it's $650. Also, taking cash payment on top of the Uber fare is personal, not policy, and is another example of just how unregulated Uber is around here.
