  3. Well bless your little heart. I guess all these other people who have had bad results are just like me then. Only one of you. You can have him and the shop all to yourself. Good luck!

  4. I went to him for an estimate and didn't have a good feeling about what he said or his price. It seemed that the price for the taillight was awfully high. So I called Dalton Honda in Guadalajara and they sold me a new one for 1/3 the price. I decided to let the Honda dealership do the work and was surprised at the reasonable price. It was done in 3 days and the work was guaranteed. I was very happy with the experience. Body work is very difficult and I don't feel the local shops have the equipment or experience to do a good job. Just my opinion.

  6. The last time I asked that question of an Ilox worker, several weeks ago, see said they were hooking up the distribution wiring and that homes were not yet being connected and that the wires or fiber was not connected to the system (internet, etc)

  7. Interesting that "Jack Slade" has used Raul for 15 years, but is showing as a newbie on this web site. Obvious conclusions are being made... For the rest, thanks for telling us of your own experiences. It never ceases to amaze me how one person seems to think his experience will wipe out another's...

  8. Does anyone know if the Visa credit card that Costco issues has the same age limit (70) as the banks do?

  11. I won't go back either. Did a lousy job on the repair and my car is now three colours. Never had this problem with the Autobody shop just west of the Waffle House. Should have waited... but my front bumper was hanging on with one screw after somebody backed into me while I was having brunch at Yves.

  12. But the one I know that meets that description has been here much longer than 14 years.....

  13. That's what I call a wide acquaintance ! I don't know nearly that many people, period.😉

  14. I personally know more than 140 people who have returned in the 14 years I gave lived here.

  15. I think there are a lot of different rationals packed into "returning to be near the grand kids". It's our local socially acceptable excuse. And that's great. I think a big adjustment for many people coming here is to the rural environment. That doesn't feature much in all the promotion of the Lakeside area. It can be a big deal for some people after years of living here.

  16. What I have noticed, even with my parents, they look for "ten good years" then return North to active senior developments and enjoy their Mexican memories.

  17. Been here over 14 years. Children are all grown and living in three widely separated parts of the U.S. They visit here occasionally. We've had much better medical care here than we had back in the States. Several really bad experiences happened there, so there is no way we wish to return for that reason. We're here for the long haul. So far, only two people we've known here moved back to the States; both to be near family.

  18. Some anecdotal information that to me indicates the percentage may be higher. We moved here 15 years ago from Dallas with 2 other couples. About a month after we all arrived friends of one of the couples came down for a visit and of course bought a house immediately. A few years later we met another couple from Austin. The 2 couples that moved with us returned to Texas after about 7 years. One due to health and the other left for other reasons. The 4th couple moved back after 12 years and the last couple returned last year. Both health related. Out of 10 people in our circle of friends, we are the only ones still here with no exit strategy, good health or bad. Again, anecdotally that is an 80% return rate.

  19. The women splasing on an ounce of perfume many times is because they can't smell how very strong it smells to others in range of her. I always thought it was because she hasn't bathed in a couple of weeks or so. The same with men with an ounce of colonge slashed on themselves. Very offensive bad habit. IMO

  23. When I was young, our dogs & cats ran free, and we never knew where they made their deposits. Their food came from the butcher; horse meat, in a paper container. Hamburger came that way, and we kids often confused the two. Both were delicious. The horses, on the other hand, spent a lot of time inside during the winter months, and that required shoveling. It made a big pile, which composted and also received the kitchen scraps. It was all very useful in the garden, and helped develop very rich soil in an otherwise sandy area. Groceries came home in paper bags, which were used for many purposes; carefully folded and saved, as that kraft paper was quite nice for wrapping and mailing, etc. There were no plastic bags, straws, spoons, plates, or much of anything else. Bakelite was as close as it came, until after WWII, when plastic suddenly appeared everywhere. Soon, our sturdy iron and tin toys, tools and utensils were replaced by .....well, you know the rest of the story.

  24. It is a free world if Dra Candy wants to cater with people with their pets she can.. I can also go to a dentist who has other priorities so everyone can live happily forever after.. I have 5 dogs once of them with severe separation anxiety so maybe I should bring the 5 in.. Computer guys you are welcome to try to calm down my anxious pooch, I would love to see how you do it.. He is a serious case and nothing has worked with him so far..and no I do not bring him to restaurants or to doctors or dentists no matter what his problem is.

  25. Since she is not my dentist I don’t care if she has ponies in her exam rooms. I think it would be wonderful if she builds a whole practice on catering to the needs of all the Very Special Delicate Flowers lakeside and keeps them away from everyone else.

  26. A personal related observation that the economy is improving....try finding a skilled mason and peon who does not have a drug related problem..all the good ones are busy. Talk to any of the reputable builders in the area, good labor is in short supply. Secondly the traffic congestion at Lakeside and the majority of the vehicles are not beat up old bangers.

  27. Come on out to Chapala Pride and join your fellow ex-pats to show our Mexican hosts we applaud them embracing their queer community and we also support human rights for all no matter how you identify and who you love. The more Allies the better. We have a large banner to march behind uniting the Mexican, Canadian and US flags. If you are from a country other than the US or Canada feel free to bring your flag and wave it proudly. Any other flags are also welcome: transgender, lesbian, intersex, bisexual, PFlag for parents, etc.... Meet at 3:30 at The BeerGarden on 11/17, 3 days from now, or come straight to the parade. Those at the restaurant will have a meal/snacks/drinks together and then join the parade when it forms around 4:30 or 5:00 on the street just outside the restaurant.

  28. Just a brief comment. I used Ernesto Barron to clean-up my small garden, and he did a fine job. He is hard working, arrives when he says he will, and his prices are reasonable for the quality of work. I will be using him in the future, and can recommend him highly.

  29. That's a strange question to expect someone else to answer. Most people would call the guy, ask him to come by and give an estimate for what you require done.

  30. How can you expect a quote for work without him seeing the space and finding out what you need/want done? “Small” and “simple” are relative terms.

  31. I was in SF during the height of the psychedelic era when the Ace of Cups - probably the very first all-women's rock band - was playing around the area as an opening act for many shows, there was a LOT going on at that time!!! So I heard OF them but never heard them until now. They are in the media again because they have reunited to record their FIRST album because as talented as they were, they never got a record deal probably because the Music Biz didn't know what to do with an all female group. Well, they are fabulous and I wanted to share this video as an example of what you could do in your "golden years". They are all in their 70s now and sound better than ever! Enjoy!

  33. Amazing ! I have used Raul for 15 years. Car, SUV, golf cart. I have also sent a few friends there. Nothing but good results. I have a sense that you and/or your insurance company may be the problem. Better you go elsewhere. He will not miss you.
