  1. The fun begins turning left into the Super Lake parking lot when coming East to West and the mis-timed traffic lights cause all the cars behind you to have to wait until the traffic passes or someone coming the other way flashes their head lights to let you go... and you politely hurry and in so doing, you flatten the muffler on your car going over the excess rain bump/barrier. It is almost like hitting an unpainted tope at 40MPH, but you know this one is here and you still flatten your muffler! Then you look up and hope no car is coming out of the mechanic shop garage directly in front of you

  2. -People who say they have "lived here" 18 year,s when they only spend 1 or 2 months here a year.. -People who do not nod, say hello or give some kind of acknowledgement, when passing you by on the street (Mexicans always do!) -People who block the walkway at the Tiangus - 2 couples catching up with each other while down here, blocking the path. -People who let their dogs pee on the hanging tablecloths at the Jardine. -People who feed their dogs from their plate at restaurants.

  3. About that, sometimes a person doesn't look disabled, but is. You don't know what they are feeling and they could really be in pain.

  5. Hire a needy kid on the block to pick it up and dispose of it every morning before you open the door. The kid will thank you, and you will be happier and the whole neighborhood will like you more and they will know that the dog owners are not taking care of their dogs' business. It is not going to stop since the dog has chosen your stoop and the neighbors are unlikely to stop putting their dog out.

  6. Oh my!!! Just returned from having 2 GREAT pizzas. We asked if they could make a thicker crust and for just $30 pesos more/pizza, we had thicker crusts and it was delicious. This place lives up to its' reputation. FANTASTIC! Valerie

  8. We had a pizza and a salad there today and it was the best pizza we have had here. Top notch ingredients, really good sauce and enough if it, the crust was soooooo good! Yes, it took us about 3 or 5 minutes to find a parking but it wasn't any harder than many other locations. We will definitely have their pizza delivered by the delivery guys the next time we want delivery. They have a 10", 12" and 16". We ordered the 16" and it was $200 pesos.

  9. I don't know where else to post this so I will try here. I've used G Mail for years. Its format suddenly changed today-it is difficult to use. I can't see any way to change it back to what it was. Maybe there is a G Mail forum somewhere.

  14. Use several balls of string, or yarn. Dogs and birds will eat the bread crumbs. 🌧️ Rain will wash them away, too. However, the rain may shrink the string, so you may not get all the way home, after all.

  16. Question about the first check out line in WallyMart. I thought that this first lane was not only for disabled folks but all senior citizens. Am I wrong? I have occasionally used that line and for my age I am not disabled. But compared to an average 25 year old some might call me very disabled

  18. Going off my low-carb diet today just to enjoy pizza and I want to make sure the calories and carbs are worth it, LOL! Haven't had pizza in over a year. Thanks, Val

  19. You hit on all the points, but I do take exception with one: " and this clueless wonder expects me and the 4 cars jammed up behind me to all back up, because they have no idea what they are doing is incorrect". I'm pretty sure 98% of them know exactly what they are doing.

  21. Research about Roundup is not conclusive. That judgment will certainly be appealed. I grew cranberries for Ocean Spray for many years. We were encouraged to use Roundup. They said when it broke down it became a fertilizer. I use Roundup here as it is so effective. There are many different things out there that could be hazardous-what to do?

  22. OK, but wish I had brought pickles or extra sea salt or something. When can we meet?
    1 point
  23. Yes, that's what young nerdy software programmers who can't get a date on a Saturday night do instead- "fix" things that aren't broken, move everything around, then take bets on how many weeks it'll take Grandma to figure out how to sign in.

  25. Thanks CalGal. I will try that. I think it did it. I have visited a number of GMail forums without success. I think they do these updates to confuse the old folks. My cell phone had an update the other day-confusing now.

  26. Where is that please?

  27. Yes, and it probably had something to do with the previous complaining of the lack of access speed. Interesting. Why did it take all that complaining to achieve what should have been happening?

  28. Confrontation never ends well. Try a heavy sprinkling of used coffee grounds. Dogs usually don't like the smell and it's also a natural ant repellent. Heck, it can't hurt and the smell is rather nice.

  29. Well, so far I've got a couple of problems with that. Maybe you can help me. First off, my Android app for WALMART MEXICO has no price scanner, until you create an account, obviously for marketing purposes (U.S version of the app has no such requirement). Second, since they are continually advertising products, I took a look at an easy one: Colgate Total. Listed on the phone at over 60 pesos, which is ludicrous, and clearly marked in our local store as 3 for 49p. Finally, once I had my account, I scanned half a dozen items I just returned with from WalMart not an hour ago: produce, cookie

  30. Entitled dog walkers who ignore the leash law... "The: he won't hurt you" just doesn't cut it with me... The rules are plainly posted on the Malecon...

  31. Here's another one: People who walk their dogs in public, such as on the Ajijic Malecon, and do not properly control them or reprimand them when they get aggressive toward other pedestrians. This is especially a problem for those of us who have physical problems and are not in a good position to ward off attacks. If you can't make them behave, please don't foist them on the rest of us.

  33. I suggest you pick up the poop, put it in a bag and dump in at the doorstep of the neighbor. If you can't get to the door, just dump it on the lawn.

  34. I don't go to Superlake often because of all the things mentioned by Computer Guy and other issues I have personally encountered. A gripe I have almost every time I have had to buy something there is the price at the register is different than what was on the shelf. Always more. Excuses are "there has been a price increase but we haven't changed the shelf sticker yet" or "somebody moved the price tags and these row of items belongs to the price on a different shelf" or just a shoulder shrug and a "do you still want to buy it at the higher price?" And this happened before Pancho left as well
    1 point
  35. Maybe this will ease up if Pancho actually opens his larger place in Riberas. At one point he said it would be just a deli; then weeks later he said it would be a full store. Since he was the continuing brains behind SuperLake's success, if he comes through, that will change everything. Today's SuperLake is messy and poorly stocked, with fewer interesting items being replenished, a very low quality selection of fruits and veg compared to before, and higher-than-ever markups. There are no long any specialty vendors invited to display their wares; no shipments of discounted "end of lot" ite

  37. I am guessing "nob" is one of my favourite Canadian expressions, spelled more correctly "knob", which is an insult aimed at doofuses. The etymology is unclear, but I would say it represents "You are as smart as a doorknob". Sorta like "hoser", which is used most often when referring to an "arse"...

  39. A giant Tomcat discovered our roof and moved there with his harem some months ago. The reproduction rate has been awesome and all our planters have become litter boxes. We have a small space between the back of our house and the neighbors' walls with no exit. Kittens get down there and wail for momma. They can't climb out, and catching them to remove them is nearly impossible for old folks since they turn into greased lightning in the attempt. Is there any solution to this overpopulated feral cat problem? Any entity that deals with this to call? (And no, we don't want to install a roof

  40. Superlake's parking lot seems to be crowded all year now. On the north side of the lateral in from of Fenix Realty Fenix had parking marked for their people. That is no more as they did not have a permit. So maybe 5 more spaces are available.

  41. i predict they wont be there long. on my last and final visit it was raining and the only parking space was taken up by the delivery motorcycle. there were 3 other people eating there at 1 table. there were 5 or 6 employees and all were loud and playing among themselves. the price for a glass of wine was 50 pesos on the menu, we were charged 60 and told that the menu hadnt been changed yet. i will not be back

  43. Do you know what it costs to get one euthanized? The trap and euthanize plan sounds good if it doesn't get too expensive for so many of them. The one problem is that the big tom is the size of a medium sized dog and has rings around his tail. Someone said this is a variation on the usual "cat, cat".

  44. ...the current confusion at CFE re billing. You may not get your bill until it's already late or you may not get it at all. Now, there's pressure to get it online. What if a person is a rare specimen who either isn't computer savvy or doesn't have one at all?
