  3. And that same story went all over numerous web sites and FB pages and later proven false. Some of you are too lazy to actually make calls to Aduana / SAT and ask yet full of silly opinions. And I know people who were stopped when not committing a traffic violation and paid. :-) And I know, people who got their cars "nationalized" including EdoMex plates with no legal documents. And I know...... fill in the blanks .... mmm :-)

  4. I had a cat that claimed I needed him to keep the elephants out of the garden. He got himself run over and the elephants didn't return. We have probably scared all the evil spirits away for the next few centuries.

  6. Like many traditions, they lose their usefulness and original intent. What may have started as a way of calling angels, scaring evil spirits and inviting distant friends to fiestas turned into who has more cash for fireworks and wants to show off. Sadly in this situation it is litetally money going up in smoke.

  7. Not true. The law states you must apply in a country in which you legally reside. There are a few exceptions and the two I know of based on clients experiences are Las Vegas and Laredo but they are not following the law. Many consulates use these words: Chicago MX consulate: Document that proves that the applicant is a foreign legal resident of the USA (I-797, I-20 advance parole, etc.). This applies for non-US citizens. Dallas MX consulate: I-94 or ESTA (if applicable) Advance Parole, signed I-20 or signed I-797 Miami MX consulate: Original y co

  10. I have a solar system that makes more than enough hot water for a long shower, but should I want to fill my hot tub I need a little help so the hot water runs through an instant on gas hot water system, so as the hot water coming into the hot tub, becomes cooler the instant on, gas units come on heating any water entering the system that isn't hot enough.

  13. Used to be rattles and drums to alert the gods that they were being celebrated. Then it was shooting off guns into the air. Then Mexicans in USA sending back money for the fiestas from their Asuntos Ajijic,Asuntos Jalisco, etc associations that was used to buy cohetes when gun fire was discouraged.....actually this year is much quieter than previous years, haven't had to put in my earplugs yet (3 blocks from plaza). We'll all be glad when its over.

  25. I have contacted Williams Burg Pies and they will bring me Friday a French Canadian Meat Pie and a Chicken Pot Pie, both 130 pesos each. A Mr. Samuel Gámez quickly replied to my email and after asking he said, "we also make coconut cream pie, lemon cream pie, k-lime pie- apple pie three berry pie, appleberry pie, creamy cheese pie, pecan pie, púmpkin [pie]". He also said he delivers to the American Legion, now you know too. After I try the meat and the chicken pies, I will post my impressions. I have complete confidence the meat pie will be better than any empanada I have ever h

  27. I have the Telcel Amigo plan on my phone (Samsung/Android) and I have downloaded a Telcel app that lets me check my account, balance, usage, etc. I can also add minutes directly within that app without having to go to Oxxo or somewhere else to pay. For quite a while I just went into the app and adding $100 pesos or so when it was time to do so. I've been using the app for several years now so this year I changed a setting where it automatically adds that $100 when it is supposed to. I never have to think about it or worry about forgetting to do it. I have it set up to pay with a U.S. credit ca

  32. Another suggestion, if you've got a good, reliable pastry recipe for the tarts, you might sell ready-made shells, as some of us just aren't talented that way. My last effort was all over me, the floor, the ceiling and the cat.

  33. You could probably get a more accurate answer if your question was "How much does a TV cost at Costco?" For anyone to give you a meaningful answer they would have to divulge age, sex, actual coverage, deductible and any and all medical conditions they have. El Saltos' advice above is the way to go.

  36. What is a butter tart? At its most basic, a butter tart is simply butter, sugar, syrup, and eggs. The magic happens when these simple ingredients are combined and baked in a pastry shell until golden brown and the filling is semi-solid – or really runny depending on your tastes and baking style. This simple combination is what was featured in the first known printed recipe from the early 1900s. Found in the Royal Victoria Cookbook by The Women’s Auxiliary to the Royal Victoria Hospital located in Barrie, ON, this simple tart has become a staple of the Canadian cuisine landscape. Kawar
