  2. Pretty amateurish web hosting. SunFan
  3. Yup. This is the only site that I've had problems with today. BIG problems. Thanks for the confirmation guys.
  4. Yes, up here in Seattle, where I have very very fast internet, I am experiencing the same problems as you, timing out and when able to stay connected, getting almost nowhere on the web board. Earlier today, I couldn't even get connected. I would get messages saying that there were already too many folks online, or something like that.
  5. First slow as molasses, then down most of day then back up but now SLOWER than molasses. You?
  6. You might be surprised how many do. They live among us.

  8. Only one more comment.... devil is making me do it. 😈 Now that I understand WHAT a "3rd party app" is, I HAVE to ask: How lazy, careless, or just plain stupid does someone have to be that they would use BOTH their email user name AND password to sign in to one of these things???????

  11. Mark it spam or junk mail or whatever in you mailbox and forget it. If you want first forward it to scam@mcafee.com and they will try to shut down the email they are using
  12. Update. We went to Tepetate today for lunch. It was fantastic. I had Sweet and sour chicken and my husband had what they simply call Yellow Curry. Large portions, great presentation and wonderful service. We will return.
  13. To let you know: I've called my U.S. bank, informed it about this McAfee email and also forwarded the "problem" invoice. Thanks for your comments. Lexy
  14. Thanks to all. Got an email form a former bard member ( banned years ago for NOT a good reason IMO) and she explained it well to me. None of this applies to me. Phew. Why I got the email when a lot didn't? Just lucky I guess. 😒
  15. I would not call the number. I would, however, contact your bank and tell them not to approve any charges from questionable company.
  16. There are many Apps that can be downloaded to different devices (game apps like Candy Crush, language apps like Duolingo, entertainment apps like Netflix, etc.) Most Apps allow you to log in using a username or email address and a password that you create. They also allow you to log in using your Google or Facebook or other social media accounts. Using one of the social media accounts allows you to, for example, keep your level in Candy Crush, watch history on Netflix, etc. on which ever device to play it on. According to the message you received, most major trusted Apps that you have used your Google account to log into should still work but there are thousands of Apps out there that are less trustworthy and those may no longer work. You can still access them but you will have to create a new Username and Password to access them in the future and use your new credentials to log into that App on each separate device.
  17. You can call the number if you want but DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR VISA number so they can "correct" their error. That's what they really want. Yes, it's a scam. Send the e-mail to spam pronto.
  18. If you check your Visa Statement every month or have an alert sent to you every time a charge is made, I would not call the number and just ignore the email. If a charge does come through, just contact your bank and let them know that it was not your charge and ask them not to allow any more charges from this person/business. If you call the number, they will phish for more information ( such as confirming a name with a phone number or email).
  19. I just received by email an invoice for over $785 USD. It thanks me for my order and says payment will be by "auto-debit." It gives a tel # to call if I didn't place this order. Of course, I did not. I'll call the number, after first asking on this forum: How much of a nuisance am I in for in dealing with this scam? Is it possible they have my Visa debit card info (which I seldom use)? Your help, if can, will be appreciated. Lexy
  20. If all you use is a windows platform you probably will not have seen what is being talked about. As MH suggested, some websites allow one to log into them by using one's Google or Facebook or ? login credentials. (In other words if you don't happen to belong to us we still want to allow you to get into our site by using your Google or Facebook or ? login information). It is these kind of logins.... from "potentially Less Secure Apps".... that Google does not want to be provinding their facilities to assist with your login. P.S. An APP is nothing more than a 'program' that runs on cellphones and tablets. Just wording.
  21. Based on the information you have given you will not be affected.
  22. Depends on what other nationality you have. For example, we are naturalized Mexicans, but require Canadian PP to enter many countries without a VISA ( including U.S: and now Canada). We also retain our main banking in Canada and I don't know if we would have to alter that if we renounced.
  23. 1. Have desktop.... no tablet. To enter gmail I click on gmail (in bookmarks sidebar) and that takes me to "sign in". (Mozilla FIrefox) 2. I have no idea what kind of "app" would let me log in using google credentials. EXPLANATION would be FABULOUS..... PLEASE!! 3. On my phone, there is an "icon" ( for lack of better word) just like for Contacts, Camera, Gallery, Settings etc. ( android) If I touch that icon, it has 5 options contained within......Google Gmail Youtube Photos Meet . The ONLY one I ever touch there is Gmail, and it goes directly to my inbox. Your opinion HIGHLY appreciated ML
  24. If you are using an app on your phone or tablet and that app lets you log in using your Google credentials it will require a 2nd method of verification if you used Google to log in. If you are using an app and log in to the app not using your Google account to do so there is no change. If you are not using apps on your pgone or tablet that offer a login using Google, Facebook etc it will not affect you.
  25. Since you seem to understand better than I, can YOU explain the third party apps issue? And how many people did YOU have to notify of new email address..... or does google do it fro you since Contacts is one of the things they mention losing?
  26. I reluctantly agree. BUT am certainly not willing to have to notify a kazillion people ( MY way of socializing is mostly with gmail) and since there's still time will research more. STILL don't understand what third party apps to enter means. Is it possible that if someone sends me an email and includes something like a post/photo from FB, a screenshot form ?, or those types of tings, that this could be what theyr'e talking about?
