I'm looking for nice looking pillar-style candles to stick on a fairly wide base candle holder. I think Superlake used to have them but they now have a very small selection. Wal-Mart doesn't have any yet.

Anyone know where I can buy some that don't cost an arm and a leg.

I realize this is an unimportant little post, but I've tried Diane Pearl, Guad Pharmacy, El Torito, SuperLake, Wal-Mart and some smaller stores but I still can't find any decent candles -- pillar-style (I think that's what they're called), about a 4-5" diameter, about 5" high.

Any suggestions, please and thank you.

Partylite has amazing candles and they are here in Mexico. I have sent an email through their website to contact me because I wanted candles for Christmas as well but I noted that I needed someone to speak English.

If anyone contacts them and can speak Spanish, I would happily place an order with you.

You should probably just go to Tonala or Guad. If you go into Guad take someone with you who can watch the other side of the road. Go in on Lazaro Cardenas and there is a Candle (Velas) factory on the return side to to Chapala. After you pass the Sol Beer building and sign (Distributor?) you'll drive on a few blocks and then you'll see it on the other side of the divided road. If you see McDonalds on your drive in - you have gone too far so turn around and head back toward Chapala. Wish I could give you better directions on this - maybe someone else reading this cn fill in what I've missed with the directions!

Adobe in Tlaquepaque (on Independencia, the walking street) has them.

Thanks for your suggestions of finding candles in Guad, Tonola or Tlaquepaque but that's a heck of a long way to go just for candles -- I thought Ajijic would be a good place to find them.

A couple of weeks ago Wal-Mart told me they'd be getting more in for Christmas -- of course they didn't tell me WHICH Christmas !!!

There is a store in Chapala called Rosy's. They have an extensive selection of candles (scented and unscented). If you go to the light in Chapala and turn left the store will be down past the Kodak store on the right hand side of the street. If you park your car and walk that section of town I think you will find more than one candle store. , Better than going to Guadalajara. Good luck. (If anyone has better directions, please post. Try Jose and Ricardo's little tienda on the east side of Ajijic Plaza next to the Music Box. Ricardo makes his own candles. If he does not have what you are looking for, I bet he would make some for you

I have noticed that Super Lake has a whole section for candles, assuming they are the style you want.

I found a new place for candles today called Minds Eye. It's a new, small store at 30A Colon run by Nancy. She didn't have a large selection but I did find one I liked and she's planning on making her own candles in the near future.

Try Bellagio on the Caraterra by the Weber Store.

You could also try La Bella Vida on 16 Septiembre - half block west past LCS. Brenda has quite a large selection of candles - some scented, some not. Good luck!
