I have a Mexican friend that wants to come and visit me in Vancouver, Canada this summer. Does he require anything more than a passport? If the flight stops in the USA does he require any other documentation?

US Customs

Wow, just went through US customs at the airport here in Vancouver on our way down to Guad and got a real lecture about the dangers of Mexico from the US customs agent. He asked us why we would even consider going to Mexico with what is going on down there right now. I told him we weren't going anywhere near the border. He said it didn't matter people are getting shot eveywhere down there. He told us about 4 times to watch our backs and be careful about everything in Mexico. I have never been warned like that about anyplace before..............US seems bent on keeping anyone from going down. I suspect tourism is going to be way way down the next year or so if this keeps up.

Cabs from the airport

I have a friend coming down to Ajijic late at night on Sunday, April 19/09. Their flight arives at 11:30pm. Any problems getting a cab from the airport at this time of night? With all the crap going down I'm not big on driving to the airport at that time of night to pick them up.
