The normal first Wednesday visit to the American Legion in Chapala and the LCS in Ajijic by the U.S. Citizen Services Division of the American Consulate in Guadalajara has been changed from Jan 2, 2013 to the second Wednesday, Jan 9th because of the New Year Holiday.
This change is for January only.
Turn in your passport renewal application at Lakeside one month, pick it up the next month. Personal checks and cash are not accepted. U.S. traveler checks (American Express and Visa ONLY) or bank checks payable to “U.S. Disbursing Officer” in U.S. denominations are accepted. Bank checks in U.S. dollars are available from CI Banco*, located in the Centro del Lago Shopping Plaza, across from Walmart. (*CI Banco is not affiliated with the US Consulate General Guadalajara.)
More information is available on the U.S. Citizen Services website at http://guadalajara.u...ov/service.html. For more information relating to the monthly visits, click on the Lake Chapala/Ajijic Services link in the menu on the left side of the page.
Different timeframes and payment methods apply if you make an appointment and go to the American Consulate in Guadalajara for your passport renewal.
