   we are pleased to be presenting a free concert of north indian classical music tomorrow april 13th at 11am. all are invited to attend,but the concert will start promptly at 11 am and we reserve the right to close the door if the street noise interferes. the restaurant will be open afterwards...

  our  good friend and great sitar player, John Brinnand is visiting with us here in Ajijic for only a short time and we are fortunate that he has consented to give us a performance of the shahjahanpur lineage of sitar.  other student will be musically contributing to the event.

  please make an effort to see this concert, it will be worth your time.

came upon this new taco restaurant while walking back from the tuesday market at la huerta casa de eventos. we had some deliscious tacos de cochinita pibil under a large coca-cola  tent . this is a great addition to this western ajijic neighborhood. it's located on the carretera in the middle of la huerta center with pacifico seafood on one end and tratorria  on the other. they also serve tacos of pork, fish and shrimp as well as quesadillas and breakfast. they are open 9:30am to 6pm everyday but monday. for more info : 331-147-3494

yesterday we received a flyer for a new wall climbing gym in ajijic.  sounds like fun. it is located at encarnacion rosas #88, a few blocks down from the carretera on the street that has pharmacia guadalajara and actinver on it. the cost is 40p per day ,mon-friday 9:30am to 2pm and 3:30 to 9:30pm. saturdays 11am to 4pm for more info call: 331-194-4161 or email pachamamaclimbing center@hotmail.com

tonight march 9th there will be an art event at the old chapala train station at 7pm. the arts featured will be dance and music and other disciplines. mari camarena , a wonderful blind singer who was previously with the very popular mexican fusion group, radaid will be performing with her new group....everyone is welcome and event is free.

on tuesday coming west on the carretera we witnessed an amusing scene. a car going east was stopped at the traffic light nearest walmart. a man suddenly ran up to the car and appeared to be agressively washing the car's windows. when we got alongside we saw that the man didn't have any water or squeegy, but was in full mime makeup! definitely a first for us....
