Did my right hand in October and left in December. Used Dr. Ruben Munguia Papachoris in GDL, outpatient surgery at Hospital Angeles del Carmen. Had 2 Orthopedists and the Anesthesiologist (used a local). Cost in USD was about $2,800. Immediate positive results, wish I’d done it sooner! I had one replaced in GDL 7 1/2 years ago. Although I am fortunate to have private insurance, I did calculate the cost without. If my memory is correct, it was approximately $20,000 USD. I’ll be replacing the other one in July. I’ll let you know. Hope this helps. Val Jones 😀

Thanks SO much for this terrifically informative post. I have followed the Troubleshooting steps but have not contacted any KIA forums, that's a great suggestion. I'll look into that tomorrow morning. IF the replacement is indeed a quick plug in "fix", I'm guessing it's not terribly complicated. Obviously I don't want to do something that's going to fry my entire electrical system. I am meeting someone in Chapala tomorrow who presumably knows about this and will guide me through the proper process. Definitely hoping to avoid investing almost 10%of the value of the vehicle at this point in a new AV system. Hoping to sell in the next year to purchase a Hybrid. Thanks RickS, I understand. Based on the description on Amazon, it appears to be the correct replacement as it's an Android platform and gives the measurements. I've read the reviews and hope the local person who will do the work can confirm I'm going to order the right part. I appreciate your note.

Seems our 2017 KIA Sportage screen/AV system must be replaced with a new unit. The dealership in GDL wants $45,000 pesos! Yikes! Found what appears to be a non-KIA brand on Amazon Mexico for $4,000 pesos. That, we can afford. Before I order it, I'd like to find and talk with someone locally who has the expertise to remove the defective one and install the new one. Asking if anyone has had to do this recently and can give us a recommendation. Thanks in advance. Val Jones
